Already the next day, 5 Pieces are starting the practicing in Tokyo for their three-day concerts as final of their ‘Bad Girls’ Arena Tour. They are at the hall they will perform for a total of 39,900 fans at those three days, rehearsing to make a better show than the one they had yesterday to prefect Carolina’s absence.

The weather is warm on Thursday, and though Hannah comes in the morning wearing sweatpants she soon changes to wear a pair of dark gray distressed denim shorts to her sneakers, baring her legs without being ashamed of it because everyone else are also showing their legs – the guys are wearing shorts too – and she is wearing a v-neck t-shirt in scarlet with white lines at the end of her sleeves and waist. The t-shirt is a little loose, so it hangs over her shorts, making Hannah put down the end of the t-shirt in her shorts pocket to not let people think she is walking around without pants. It was Yong Hyun who told her to bring shorts with her, and she did that in first place just to not have him glare after her the whole day. She is glad she brought shorts with her in the end though.

“I want a stronger light over here,” the director is saying in Japanese, pointing for the lightening staff to see while he speaks through the microphone, standing on the stage too along with the ladies. He turns to point at Maria. “Can you stand there without getting blind?”

Hannah quietly asks Maria the same question, but translating it to Korean. Maria had already moved as she understood she was going to stand in the spotlight, though she nods to show she understands the rest when Hannah translates.

“For how long will I stand here?” Maria asks in Korean and Hannah is the one translating in Japanese.

“Two songs,” he answers and Hannah doesn’t have to translate that part.

A new stage let them have to do the small checks to make sure everything is like it should go. Hannah even sits down on her heels while they are going through things, and when they are rehearsing the ballads she even sits down on the floor – but only when she sees Emelia doing that.

During lunch break that day, Hannah steps outside the arena where their arena tour took off a month ago. She is outside with their puppies Michin and Ryo, along with Manager Lee who is smoking along with three others from the staff, and stylist Mi Young along with one of the dancers is playing with the puppies along with Hannah. The weather is really good, it makes you realise that it is summer.

It is difficult for Hannah to realise that the tour is coming to an end. They have done ten concerts in five cities now in a month, and they have three concerts left. She will miss the Japanese staff, not knowing if they will ever work together again. She was smiling this morning when sitting in the van with the members, talking about pulling a prank on the staff or something. In the end she thinks they will just celebrate wildly on Sunday after the last concert with everyone, the final of their tour.

She thinks of what they will do after this tour. They still have some promotions in Japan of this album, and then they will prepare the release of a fourth Japanese single, the ladies will film a Japanese drama (that part has been planned for a year now, and she is so excited to make another dream come true that they all share) sometime this up-coming month and they have other things outside Japan planned too. She can’t remember much of their schedule, as their managers have said things will be changed because of Carolina’s sudden injury. She has no idea of what much in their schedule will be changed because of that or what things that will be completely cancelled. Carolina won’t participate in their performances and such for at least two-three weeks, and after that they don’t know. At the moment she can’t even stand up. Poor girl.

But Carolina seems to be relaxing though; she keeps sleeping…

“Hannah.”

Manager Lee waves his hand to get her attention, and the girl steps up to him. He makes sure to put his cigarette behind his back, as if she won’t smell it any way.

“Kyung Ho comes here on Saturday, on the second day. There are no cameras filming backstage that day and you have the least interviews too,” he is telling her. Hannah just nods. Everything has been planned for Kyung Ho to come to the concert – even spend the whole day to watch the rehearsals and have fun with not just Hannah but the ladies and pets too – so what her manager does now is probably just to confirm it all.

Little Kyung Ho has been excited to come watch the concert abroad, and he called Hannah last week (or it could be the week before, she isn’t sure with time) to tell her exactly everything about his scene where he had to kiss another boy. The other boy is two years older than him, a more main character in the movie he is filming for, and Kyung Ho had been both shy and laughing when filming the scene. Hannah can just imagine how it was like. It is good that he is having fun anyway, and the director seems nice to him too – she has had nothing to worry about being in Japan while Kyung Ho is filming in Korea. Hannah is actually looking forward to have him here. He will have a lot of fun running around; and Emelia will have a lot of fun with him too. She can already imagine the two of them running around backstage, pulling pranks or just being noisy.

“You should stop smoking, Oppa,” Hannah tells him when they are done talking.

He smiles widely, all too familiar with that request from 5 Pieces. He places the cigarette between his lips, his eyes closing when he in the air and he watches Hannah grimace at him when he blows it out on the side with a smirk in his face. It’s almost that you can see how she is holding back her frustration to hit him, and he smiles even bigger when she glares at him.

“You aren’t nice,” she mutters when turning around to go to the ones playing a bit away.

“And you complain a lot,” he answers to her back and Hannah turns around to reach her tongue out at him, frustrated at their manager.

She then claps her hands, cutely calling for Ryo who gives her his attention right away, happily running up to her. Mi Young suggests Hannah to call on Michin too; they have been talking about Michin not listening well compared to Ryo. So Hannah gives out a sound before calling for Michin to come. The puppy is busy playing with the dancer, so Hannah hits her leg instead of clapping her hands and the puppy looks at her, his tail waving.

“Come here, Michin,” she calls for him, moving her fingers for him to come.

Michin is older than Ryo, a little more than 8 months now while Ryo is in a few days 6 months. The English Cocker Spaniel is growing well, and he looks mischievous too.

Hannah starts laughing and praising the puppy when he jumps over to her. “He is so adorable!” she laughs and gets down on her heels to pat him and ruffle his fur. She likes his curly parts by the ears and on his legs, and he looks really happy to get her attention. When Hannah looks up she realises that a camera-woman is filming her – apparently she has been filming the whole time, Hannah has just been busy playing with the puppies and talking to her manager so she hasn’t seen it.

“He doesn’t listen when I call on him,” Mi Young is pouting.

“That’s because he loves me,” Hannah says while all her focus is back on Michin who is trying to reach her face where she is pouting out her lips towards him, making cute low sounds. The camera-woman has to sit down to be able to film Hannah better, as the girl doesn’t seem to be getting up. Hannah starts speaking in Japanese to the camera while still cuddling with Michin; “I have come up with the funniest way to train both puppies. Whenever I have candy in my hand and I tell Ryo to do something, Michin will come and imitate whatever Ryo does to get candy too.”

Michin gives out a sudden bark. It could be because Hannah is holding on to his face while cuddling with him, or he just randomly barks. He barks the most out of them. Hannah takes a hand away from him to instead put her finger in front of him, her eyes hardening but she doesn’t say anything. He opens his mouth, and then barks again, so this time Hannah makes a low sound that makes him go quiet. She praises him when he stays quiet.

“Hannah trains them all the time,” Mi Young tells the camera, though she speaks Korean they all know it will be translated if aired in Japan or if it is for a Japanese DVD.

“You seem to know what you are doing,” the camera-woman comment to Hannah in Japanese.

“No…” Hannah shakes her head, “I just create routines so they know what I mean when I do things. Like when I call on them, I either clap my hands for them to hear or if they are looking at me I show my hand for them to come. They have learnt that from me.”

It could be because she keeps training them too. The dog her family has in Sweden is nine years old now, and when he was a puppy Hannah failed completely to train him while her mother did very well, and in the end the dog is following her around like a slave – he adores her completely, all he thinks about is her and food. Hannah has because of that given more attention to the two puppies 5 Pieces now have, hoping she can make them listen to her. It is fun too, because if Julia and Hannah aren’t outside, the puppies can not be loose like they are now. No other member is so good with them; Emelia is honestly just really good to play around with both pets and kids, but she isn’t as good to take care of them.

And Hannah realises that it seems like she is really good with the puppies, so she gets in a good mood to play around with them outside even more.

When coming back inside, Emelia waves Hannah to watch something on the laptop. For the third time today, Emelia is watching SHINee’s new music video [Why So Serious?]. Jonghyun isn’t in it because of his injury after the car-accident. It is sad, but the ladies are all impressed with how the other four members of SHINee manage to do well without him with this song. Hannah already has some favourite parts in the song, she knows that especially when she sits down on her knees next to Emelia in the sofa and watches the music video from the beginning to end and she is just smiling constantly. The song is really good, and Hannah admits that Taemin fits the style well.

From across the room, Maria is singing along to the song (a few words anyway) and she is randomly moving. It is addicting.

Hannah thinks the ladies have caught a fever of the newly released music video that they have watched today. When rehearsals continues, she sees Emelia out of nowhere starting to try out the dance part during Minho’s rap in [Why So Serious?], and half an hour later it is Maria who sings the song. Later the same day Maria sings the song again, trying to imitate someone too – Hannah hasn’t watched the music video as much as her members so she is unsure of whom she is imitating.

Maria also puts a hand on one of the dancer’s during the rehearsal when they are taking their positions to practice another song, and Maria almost frightens the dancer when she suddenly starts to sing and move to SHINee’s song.

You could almost think that 5 Pieces are huge fans of SHINee. The girls really support their friends, whether it’s from SM or another agency, and if there is a new song that is stuck in their head, they express it by singing or dancing it. That is completely normal.

The next day the girls go through the rehearsals faster to then get ready for the concert. Dressed up for the opening, 5 Pieces do interviews and a press conference about their final location of this arena tour, where they talk about Carolina not attending, how they have prepared and their thoughts about the whole tour, future plans and more. Their managers made sure no one would ask about Hannah and Jonghyun, and though there is one person who ask a question, Hannah actually does well by saying ‘no comment’.

In between the interviews she is texting Jonghyun. He doesn’t have a schedule, though he is showing support to s for their comeback with only four members and is practicing quietly to get better, so he had promised Kyung Ho to go eat with him. He even sends a picture of him and Kyung Ho smiling when eating meat and she had smiled when seeing it, though she felt sad to not be there with them. If she had been in Korea, she maybe could have sneaked along at least for a while to meet them.

Today’s concert goes as well as it could go without Carolina, and afterwards they all from the concert goes to celebrate. The first and last day of their three-day concerts will be celebrated afterwards, and today is the first celebration of a successful tour. Though Carolina got hurt, the whole tour has been extremely successful and they need to celebrate not just the tour but good friendship that has come out from it.

The crew is laughing when Maria is standing up during the get-together celebration, a glass filled with alcohol raised in her hand and she is talking in a mix of Korean and Japanese and then suddenly says something in Swedish just because she can to make people confused; and because she is a little drunk. Hannah is laughing so badly that she is almost crying, but she joins in the cheering for the leader and one of the dancers who starts to try repeating the same things Maria is saying though he only understands Japanese.

In other words, it is crazy.

They are the loudest and biggest bunch in the place, and no one of them seems to either care or notice. Not even Hannah cares. She laughs loudly and she shouts out in Japanese at the crew with laughter in to correct the things they say or just give comments. The female dancer Hanako and Hannah are both doing their bad imitations of all kind of people from the crew and 5 Pieces when they are getting ready to leave. At this moment, none of them thinks of tomorrow’s concert, but all thinks of how to have a lot of fun. And that means a lot of screaming and laughing, and for Maria, drinking.

“My head hurts…” Maria groans, sitting in the van in the morning on the way to rehearsals.

She is sitting with dark sunglasses, her fingers are pressing her temples and she looks like she hasn’t slept anything. The biggest problem that is the reason their manager is frowning from the front seat is that Maria’s voice is hoarse. From screaming and drinking last night, as well as their schedule, she has gotten hoarse. The lead singer has a hoarse throat and a hangover – Manager Lim doesn’t like it. He went to the apartment after yesterday’s concert to keep Carolina company, and the other managers were having just as fun at the celebration as the other ladies, so he scolded them when they came home last night.

Hannah is sitting in the back, slightly smiling a bit out the window. She didn’t drink much at all last night, and she went from alcohol to water before anyone else, knowing she wouldn’t want to have a hangover during the rehearsals. Hannah did think about that, even if she had a lot of fun yesterday; she can’t let loose like her members can. There is too much going on in her head. Others probably didn’t notice it because she was loud and she did laugh uncontrollably.

“Appa, it hurts,” Maria complains with another groan.

Hannah gives a giggle, and Maria turns around with a shocked sound.

“Are YOU laughing at ME?” Maria bursts out, throwing a hand to her head with a grimace over the headache.

“Did I hear THE Maria whine?” Hannah giggles and Maria looks completely surprised over Hannah’s teasing attitude.

“I can not believe you are doing this!” Maria gives a dramatic move and leans back in her seat. “Appa, did you hear what baby told me?”

He is smiling. “Yes, I did. And Maria, please stop screaming, you do not have the voice to do so.”

“I do whatever I want with my voice, and my head is hurting so much…”

Maria then stays quiet, drinking the special tea to help that they have brought with them. She hums quietly to a song just briefly, and Hannah smiles in the back. Maria can’t be quiet.

Outside the arena, fans are already lining up. It is a loud cheering when the van pulls up at the back, and the ladies are lightly waving their hands to the fans standing far, far at the side.

“Good morning!” Hannah is loudly greeting the staff when heading to the room backstage.

Maria hits her back. “Don’t shout.”

“GOOD MORNING!” Hannah shouts even louder and waves her hand in the air to people standing far away in the corridor and she laughs when Maria kicks her on her from behind. Julia is muttering that she can’t understand why Hannah is in such a great mood this morning, and Emelia suddenly smirks.

“It’s because Kyung Ho is coming.”

“Kyung Ho is coming~!” Hannah cheers and starts to dance her way forward, causing the others to laugh. She really is in a great mood. She continues to greet everyone along with her members, hugging the female dancers and joking with the band – it isn’t just Maria who has a bad hangover today, and that is really fun.

The first two hours, Hannah has a lot of people telling her to lower her voice. Emelia has fun playing around with the crew having a hangover too. She even jump up in front of one of the guys from the band to give out a sound in his ear; almost getting punched in the face for it. Hannah and Emelia are bad people this morning, just making people getting worse headaches than what they already got from the hangover.

“Here, here,” Emelia grabs Hannah’s hand to suddenly turn left, entering one of the rooms backstage. “Are you hiding from us, koibito? Did you have fun last night?”

The guitarist Ryo who Emelia has known since her solo activities last year (and who she calls koibito which in Japanese means lover) is lying on a few chairs lined up in the room, and he looks just as bad as Maria with a hangover. Others from the band are also in the room, some playing games and others are eating, most of them have been greeted already but Emelia hasn’t seen the guitarist all morning. Hannah smiles when he mumbles for answer, almost groaning from the hangover. Hannah walks over to sit by those around the table who are eating, and Emelia takes a chair to sit by the table nearest where Ryo is sitting.

“Ryo-kun continued partying with some old friends after the rest of us left last night,” Kato says and motions with his chopsticks over at Ryo.

“That explains it,” Emelia chuckles, “since you didn’t drink that much yesterday.”

“Oh, it was wild yesterday. I even met this girl at the club we went too, she had a tattoo on her arm, so y,” Ryo says with a smile, still lying down. Emelia gives out a sound before asking what tattoo it was. “I took notice of it because it was a dog, and it looked like your crazy puppy.”

“Hey, he isn’t crazy,” Hannah pretends to be hurt by his words, but she smiles with the others before asking them in a low voice; “Is he still drunk.”

They shrug their shoulders, but apparently Ryo didn’t go home last night – he came here where he washed up and changed clothes – and Emelia laughs when she hears that.

“I will so tell on you,” she laughs at Ryo.

Hannah keeps smiling. She knows Emelia well enough to notice that her normal behaviour isn’t so normal after all; she likes this guy. Emelia is impossible to let you notice it because she looks and behaves exactly like she usually does, but something about this normal behaviour tells Hannah that her friend has a small little crush on Ryo. It makes her smile and look at Emelia from time to time when sitting there and talking to the others.

“Hannah-chan, I heard your Korean little brother is coming today,” Kimiko’s nice voice changes subject after sitting there for quite some time chatting.

“Yes!” Hannah brightly answers and her whole expression changes when thinking about it. Some of those around the table give a laugh at her reaction.

“Is he the one we have heard about? The boy who calls you Sleeping Beauty?” Kimiko wonders, both sounding and looking deeply interested in the subject.

“Who told you that?” Hannah laughs and one of the other in the band points at Emelia who smiles widely at Hannah to show she is the guilty one, but Emelia then turns back to Ryo to continue talking with him. It seems natural for both girls to speak in Japanese, it comes out so simple. “Oh… He calls me that because I was … in a coma when we first met. It’s quite funny.”

“That’s so cute,” Kimiko and the other girls are giggling and Hannah smiles widely, happy they don’t think much of the coma. She can’t wait for them to meet him, even if he can’t speak Japanese.

It doesn’t take long until someone comes and informs them that the rehearsals will continue, so everyone is heading to the stage. Hannah knows all the details of when Kyung Ho’s plane will land and around when he will come to the arena, but once the rehearsals starts she forgets about the time and just focuses on the rehearsal.

The corridor feels endless, like a labyrinth where the walls have to look the same to make you unable to know where you are, and the walls are covered in posters of five Swedish girls posing coolly with the text ‘Bad Girls’ and ‘First Japan Arena Tour’ written on it along with the group-name. He has no idea of where he came from after walking from right to left after corridor and corridor, too lost in his own thoughts and of watching poster after poster that looks exactly the same in each corridor.

Lee Ji Young is the manager of 5 Pieces who came to the airport, standing with a sign with his name on. The manager is in jeans and shirt, he is pretty normal when it comes to looks, in his thirties, and it isn’t the first time they have met. The boy looks down at his own clothes, his sneakers moving faster than the manager’s to keep up with the speed. He is in shorts reaching below his knees, matching the hot weather and a t-shirt with Iron Man on it. On his bag he has a big backpack that is thick with things, and it is heavy too.

“Do you follow a map?” Kyung Ho asks the man he is following.

Manager Lee chuckles at the question. “A map? Of the arena, you mean? No,” he answers with a smile, slowing his steps to look down at the bow. “Are you lost?”

The boy nods his head, holding on to the backpack’s shoulder-straps when looking at the left when they pass by another corridor.

“Oh, you aren’t the first one. Carolina got lost the first time we were here, and she kept getting lost the whole day without anyone realising she was lost because she was always around someone,” Manager Lee is explaining, “but you will not go around here alone, okay? Remember to always walk with someone.”

Kyung Ho laughs a boyish laugh, saying it would be really fun to see Carolina when she gets lost. He then gives a pout, remembering that Carolina is hurt. Hannah had told him on the phone about her injury, telling him that only four members will perform at the concert. Kyung Ho has only seen 5 Pieces perform with Hannah before, so he isn’t sure of how it will look like without that enormous smile standing in the middle.

He starts to run when he hears music, and live voices he is all too well familiar with are singing. Manager Lee laughs behind him and tells him when to turn in the corridor to get right, and Kyung Ho within a minute or two has run out to the arena. His whole face is in a big smile as he looks over at the big stage where 5 Pieces (with only four members) are rehearsing a song he honestly doesn’t know, but their voices can never be misheard. He stands still there, watching from away with this big smile in his face when seeing the older sisters performing. His heart is pounding loudly in his chest over the loud music and when he sees Hannah he even gives a little jump in excitement.

It has been all too long since he saw her, this girl who is like an older sister he always dreamt of having but never really had. She is blonde, with these darker locks for the arena tour concept, and she is comfortably dressed. Though he is standing so far away, he knows she isn’t wearing any make-up. And Maria, he notices the tallest among them, is wearing sunglasses: Indoors.

A hand is put on his shoulder and the manager asks if he would like to take a seat and watch the rehearsals, or if he wants to go to the backstage room where 5 Pieces’ pets are. Kyung Ho really wants to go play with the pets, but he gets stuck standing where he is now, watching the stage.

He was a fan of 5 Pieces before he met Hannah, not a hardcore fan but he liked their music and found them interesting, but ever since he got to know Hannah he has become addicted to the group. He doesn’t brag about it at school or to anyone, he just loves that these five foreigners who are twelve years older than him and have such a presence both on stage and off stage, are actually really down-to-earth and probably the nicest and prettiest people he has ever met and ever will know. He looks up to them, and his body tingles in happiness when thinking of how hopeless everything was before this blonde beauty was put in the same room as him at the hospital and all his time was spent reading for her while she was sleeping. A white angel. That is what he really thinks of her. That is what he sees on the stage now; four angels, who with their music are saving lives. Never has he told anyone that, but it isn’t like they need to know it either.

Manager Lee guides the paralyzed boy to sit down in front of the stage. Kyung Ho doesn’t recognize the others sitting there, but he politely bows when the manager introduces him to a few of them. A Korean female choreographer is the only one he thinks he has seen before.

While watching the rehearsal, Kyung Ho’s cheeks hurt from smiling so widely up at the stage. He knows when they recognize him from up there, and Hannah first gets a little lost in her actions when seeing him first but then she keeps glancing at him just to make sure he is still there. Kyung Ho likes how she smiles at him; how it feels for him that he is with his family.

He gets all excited, jumping in his seat, when hearing the rehearsals are done and the ladies are getting off the stage. His eyes are on only one person, and that person is hurrying down the stage before she walks up to where he is, and Kyung Ho leaves his seat before she can reach him to jump in her arms.

Hannah laughs in his ear, holding on to him in the hug and twirling around where she is standing. He knows she has missed him too, he knows he is just as much as her family as she is to him.

Everything hasn’t been easy for him. He has been going to school at the days and then he has gone to film afterwards. In April the movie filming ended, but for May he has gotten to film a drama, where he had to kiss a boy. Hannah helped him through the phone, but he didn’t get to meet her and his teacher at school has been really annoying; wanting him to go do auditions he has no interests in. The best thing with that Hannah has been in Japan is that she hasn’t been able to “monitor” what he is doing, she hasn’t seen him acting this year because she hasn’t been around, and he has felt it is good to not have Hannah trying to sneak around near the set and pretend she is there to support the actors while she in fact is there just to see how it is going for him. But now … when he sees her, when she is hugging him and laughing happily to see him, he admits for himself that he really wants to have her sneaking around and being curious.

“Hey,” Hannah says and sits down on her knees when putting him down. She holds on to his face, her thumbs wiping his tears. “Why are you crying?”

Kyung Ho just pouts his lips with his red eyes and hugs her around her neck as tight as his thin arms can, and Hannah smiles. She really has missed him, and she is glad to see that he looks to be doing well. He moves her hair with his hand to hide her face in it when hearing Emelia calling out for him from afar.

“Come, I’ll give you a round-tour,” Hannah whispers in his ear before getting out of the hug and stands up, telling him to stop crying again. “You want me to take your bag?”

He shakes his head, wiping his tears like a child with his hands. Hannah keeps smiling. She sits down on her heels next to him, turning him to her to help him wipe the tears, and she just won’t stop smiling. When his tears are wiped, Hannah stands up straight and they start to walk together. He takes her hand.

“How did the flight go?” Hannah wonders in a kind voice, moving their hands back and forth when walking.

“It was really fun,” Kyung Ho answers and he laughs when trying to keep their hands still.

“And Ji Young Oppa treated you well?”

“Yees,” he pulls out on the answer, laughing again when she pushes him a little for showing that tone. Her questions continue, wanting to know if he has eaten and if everything went well at the airport and if he brought all things with him and so on. Her questions are endless and Kyung Ho laughs at almost every one of them.

They leave the hall to get inside a corridor, where Kyung Ho hasn’t walked in, and Hannah starts to introduce him to people in Japanese. For him, she introduces the people by saying a nickname and what they do at the tour. Dancers and band members are most of the people, and then Julia is there too. He still has no idea of how they can find around here without a map. Hannah tells him on the way what the rooms are used for, and she then shows him the room that 5 Pieces uses.

“PUPPIES!” Kyung Ho cheers loudly when seeing a brown dog in the room, and both puppies of 5 Pieces run up to the boy when he falls down on his knees to greet them.

Hannah is smiling widely, so happy that he is here. The managers and stylists in the room smiles too, lowly greeting the boy who stands up to greet them politely with a bow. He does the same to the other ladies, though Emelia is friendly to him and asks if he is ready for a playful day with her. He can’t stop smiling either.

“Their smile is exactly the same,” Yong Hyun smiles when Hannah and Kyung Ho has stepped outside after leaving the boy’s backpack. Mi Young smiles too when she turns around to the make-up table where she is sorting out the nail polish they will use for tonight’s show.

“Maybe he will help Hannah focus on the concert and not just thinking of that she hasn’t met you-know-who for five weeks,” Mi Young adds quietly and she looks up at Yong Hyun with this you-know-what-I-mean look in her face.

“Tell me about it,” Yong Hyun breathes out.

“Are you two gossiping?” Julia gives out a surprised sound when hearing the stylists talking, but she smiles as she knows they always do that. “You should have seen her face during the rehearsals when she saw him.”
