ELLE: The second book of the fantasy novel about ‘Joe’ is being published in Korea this month, almost a year after the first book came out. Is there a different feeling this time compared to last?

Hannah: It is a big difference for me, I’m not sure if others notice. When the first book was being published I was extremely nervous to take on the role as an author, as it was my first time publishing a book. And it was a genre I wasn’t sure readers would expect of me. This time I am more excited for the book to be published, I’m not really sure why, but I guess I look forward to know what readers think of the follow-up.

 

ELLE: How was the progress in writing the second book?

Hannah: Both books were written before the first one was published, so for a year now it has just been a lot of work to polish it to the better. I had a great team helping me out to sort out a few things but hopefully the result will be alright for the readers.

 

ELLE: When is the best time for you to write, as your schedule is very busy?

Hannah: I usually write whenever I get an idea, which can be any time of the day. The best time though is at night, after the schedule is done and I’m sitting on my own, I can write pages without a break.

 

ELLE: Do you have any advice for people who want to achieve a big dream they find too far away to reach?

Hannah: Take one step at a time. Don’t think of reaching the goal right away, it’s easier to think of achieving one step at a time to reach there.

 

ELLE: Has the members of 5 Pieces read it, and if they have, what did they think?

Hannah: All of them have read the second book; they are the first judges. Maria gave me the same comment on this one as she did on the last one, “let me read the next one now”, which I think is funny. My members are really supportive to me all the time and I think that is what gives me the courage to publish.

 

ELLE: You are currently one of the most popular artists. What is the good part in being in a talented and successful group as 5 Pieces?

Hannah: By first thought it would be the stage, because nothing can beat the feeling of performing in front of a great audience. But I think it is also all the people we get to meet. Fans are devoted and adorable and when we are on the stage or meet otherwise, they are just the best. We also get to meet a lot of people behind the scenes, which is precious too.

 

ELLE: And the hard part?

Hannah: The hard part… Actually, the hard part would be the fear of loosing it all. I am thankful each day for the life I have and I don’t want to take it for granted – which is why I try to do my best and just enjoy everything.

 

ELLE: 5 Pieces’ tour is going to start in July, anything you look forward to for the concerts?

Hannah: This is our second tour and I think I always look forward to meet such a large amount of fans for each concert. It always amazes us when we perform in front of a big audience, so I look forward to that, and also to meet fans in their countries. Rather than having them have to come all the way to us we can go to them, to see the city they live in.

 

ELLE: What can your fans look forward to for the concerts?

Hannah: Um… They can look forward to have a lot of fun and see different colours of 5 Pieces. Maybe some new colours too, who knows? Please look forward to the concerts.

Hannah is eating a snack of choux pastry ice cream home run ball (Koreans favourite that once you try, you understand why it is popular) when sitting in the van on the way home to the new apartment after her photo shoot has finished. It is three in the morning and to not fall asleep she need to eat, and because her manager says her body needs to eat if she is awake. Manager Lee is the one who went to the photo shoot with her, now driving the car with unbeatable yawns and keeping his eyes focused on the road. Hannah takes a bite on the second home run ball before she picks up her cell phone to take a picture of her with it.

Within minutes there are a few comments on the tweet, and Hannah is tiredly checking them. ‘Beautiful’, ‘what are you doing out so late? Get home safe!’ and ‘eating snacks at this hour? At least you know the best kind ^^, come home safely’ are in Korean while there is one in English and one in Thai. Hannah gives another tired sigh when the car pulls to a stop, taking her bag over her shoulder when stepping out. Manager Lee walks with her inside, making sure she comes through the apartment door before he says goodnight and leaves, and Hannah doesn’t forget to wish him a safe drive home.

The apartment is in silence at this hour. It feels like a stranger’s home; no puppies are running around, no toys are lying on the floor so you have to watch your step, no TV is making an annoying sound and there are no voices heard because the four ladies in the apartment are sleeping by now. Hannah walks to the kitchen with the leftover snacks before she drags her feet to her new bedroom, just to be met by a cold room and she has sudden feeling she wants to cry. She forgot to make the bed before leaving.

With a glance at the clock on her cell phone she knows she has to get up in five- lucky six hours, so she changes into cosy pants and takes a big blanket and a pillow from her wardrobe box to throw on the bed before she goes to wash up. The door to Emelia’s room is closed, but Hannah is careful to not make too much noise just in case the sensitive sleeper will wake up.

She lies down in the bed when she is done; falling asleep without problem though she has no sheets. That is what being tired gives you.

 

And for five hours she sleeps like a child before she wakes up by voices outside her room. Hannah keeps her eyes closed, hugging the blanket around her with her legs outside, not wanting to wake up yet. Just as she is about to fall asleep again, it knocks on the door.

“Wake up, wake up~ Rise and shine~” Julia is singing from the other side of the door. “We got plenty of things to do~”

Hannah turns around in the bed to ignore the wake-up call. She can hear Julia run down the stairs because of her voice disappearing. The blonde girl has no interest in knowing why Julia is in such a great mood at this hour, and she has no interest in getting up from the not completely made bed. She is so tired.

She actually dreamt about the photo shoot interview she did, dreaming about answering questions though she can’t remember what they were saying now when she has woken up.

From the floor below she can hear a lot of noise. Music is on a low volume from here and she thinks someone is dancing. What are they up to? But Hannah has no plans of getting up, music or not; she is not getting up.

For twenty minutes she lies there, not going back to sleep but it sure feels good. After half of that time she starts to slowly stretch her body in bed, getting ready for the day.

Only when she feels ready she walks out (after using the bathroom and getting dressed), heading downstairs where the music is still on but it isn’t anyone dancing. Carolina looks to be awake, unpacking their things in the kitchen where boxes have been put away from the table so they can eat breakfast. Maria is sitting there with her head resting on the table, looking to be asleep, and Julia is eating breakfast.

Like a dead fish the youngest walks up to the fridge, takes out two eggs but when looking around for a pot she ends up putting back the eggs in the fridge and taking a banana instead. Carolina isn’t doing a good job unpacking, as everything she unpacks she doesn’t know where to put so she piles things up on the kitchen worktop. Julia keeps telling her to put it in the drawers or just don’t unpack, but Carolina says she wants to do it – not because she helps out with her way of unpacking.

Emelia comes too, apparently she had been lying in the sofa when Hannah walked by, and she helps out with the proper unpacking, followed by Hannah helping out after eating her banana. It feels empty without their pets around, no one sitting next to your chair and begging for food when you are eating breakfast and no one to take a walk with. Carolina takes a seat once Hannah and Emelia are putting in the things she has placed on the worktop, putting them in on their real places and doing more than Carolina has been doing the whole morning within minutes.

“We are going to DBSK’s concert at Tokyo Dome today,” Emelia tells Hannah. The music is still on, now playing ballads, which isn’t the best medicine for the tired Hannah who only nods tiredly at Emelia’s comment because she hasn’t been awake for long enough to be talking.

“I can’t go,” Julia says with a sigh when coming to put away her breakfast. She rests against the worktop to look at the two girls unpacking. “I got to pre-record three music programs today, plus record a show.”

“Carolina will be with you,” Emelia tells Julia with a smirk, as if telling Julia she isn’t the only one missing the fun in Tokyo.

“Oh, how fun,” Julia rolls her eyes.

Hannah looks over her shoulder at Carolina, who didn’t hear them talk about her. Emelia tells them all that they are going to try unpack as much as possible now in the morning before they have to leave, then telling Hannah that they need to talk about their shared bathroom. Hannah had seen when she came home that Emelia had gotten a few things in their bathroom. It now has towels, extra towels, soap; even a candle was put there (which made Hannah wonder if Emelia actually has the other bedroom because none of them is much for candles in the bathroom). Hannah and Emelia go upstairs, accompanying each other inside the bathroom to talk about how they should have their stuff and then Hannah goes inside Emelia’s room to see how it looks.

When seeing Emelia’s bed, Hannah is reminded of her own and she soon goes to prepare her own bedroom.

 

“Ladies!” Manager Lim’s voice is heard from the stair below, “Meeting in the living-room!”

The music has turned off ever since their manager came, but the ladies haven’t really cared as they have been doing their own thing. Hannah and Emelia have both been trying to sort out things in their rooms – Hannah makes her bed, finally, after having Emelia help her find the sheets – and once their manager calls for them the ladies are calling for each other so everyone hears, and they go to the living-room.

“Do you all like your new apartment?” the ladies’ father asks when everyone is gathered. He is sitting on the long sofa, where Maria seems to have been sleeping after being in the kitchen and she is still lying there on her stomach with her toes touching their manager’s leg.

“It’s lovely,” Carolina brightly answers.

“Good. Because during the day, cameras will be installed for Life of Pieces so when all of you come back tonight, be prepared.”

“I thought we were going to stay in Tokyo tonight,” Hannah comments, finally awake to speak.

Manager Lim takes a deep breath, and since he doesn’t answer right away, Maria mutters against the pillow that it is a change of plans – their manager always says “it’s a change of plans” so she imitates him. He clears his throat by the imitation, not amused.

“Your last days filming the drama have been moved to film Friday to Sunday because of the weather – it has apparently been a pain for the director and crew about the weather – so tomorrow and the day after you are all practicing the choreography for [WHO-I AM] here in Seoul instead, so you can film the music video next week. Maria’s studio recording has been changed to Wednesday and Thursday too,” he goes through the schedule for them.

“What about Ace, and our puppies?” Julia wonders. “They are still in Tokyo.”

“I know. They will be sent here, and when you all go to Okinawa for the last days filming the drama, they will be with manager Kim,” their manager tells them. He then looks strangely at Julia. “Are you dressed and ready to leave, young lady?”

“Are we leaving now?” Julia is sitting in her pyjamas shorts and a t-shirt, even her hair is a mess though she has been awake for quite some time. She smiles sweetly when he nods at her. “I’ll be right back.”

Hannah leans her head back with a smile when Julia hurries up from her seat to go get dressed, but she lowers her head when Manager Lim tells her when Manager Lee will come to pick her up.

“Where is Hannah going?” Maria yawns.

“Combat Practice,” Hannah says with a big smile. “I’m going to see if I am in a good shape, how much I will have to practice for my drama character. Hi-hi-hi-hi-hi”

Her good suddenly went up when thinking of what she will do today. It makes her nervous, but she looks forward to it.

Coming to Tokyo Dome is amazing. The ladies can’t imagine themselves perform there, especially not during the actual concert seeing and hearing the enormous audience gathered there for the two seniors in TVXQ. This surely brings out the true Cassiopeia in them; they are just like the rest of the fans there, shouting and crying and cheering. Yes, they do cry. Especially towards the end of the concert, so when the concert has ended the girls are wiping their eyes, laughing at how fun it will be if their seniors notice the ladies cried because they are going to meet now.

Changmin bursts out laughing the moment he spots the three ladies of 5 Pieces walk backstage after the concert. He laughs so much but still embraces the girls for a brotherly hug.

“Did you really cry?” he asks when seeing Maria’s face. “Were we that great?”

“You are always great,” Maria gives a crying sound.

5 Pieces, especially Maria, Emelia and Hannah, are three devoted fans of DBSK – even DBSK has known it for the past five years. That the ladies cried among with the other fans during the concert, doesn’t really surprise the two seniors.

Yunho, who had been loudly talking to some others, come up to the girls to ask if they are ready to take on Tokyo Dome next time. Which the ladies aren’t: No way they could on their own take on this dome! 5 Pieces praises their seniors and idols every other second to begin with, always looking up to DBSK.

“Hannah had combat practice today too,” Emelia reveals when they are chatting a little, bringing up that Hannah has been gotten a new drama role for August. Yunho looks impressed when hearing what kind of drama it is.

“What did they let you do?”

“Everything,” Hannah laughs, remembering how speechless she was earlier today at the combat practice. “I got to try on some fighting techniques, and they even let me try a modern arrow!”

“What~?” Changmin makes a weird sound.

“My character is good with the arrow,” Hannah giggles, remembering how the trainer had dropped his jaw when she said she had never held an arrow before, and he shook his head saying she is a natural talent – Hannah said it was beginner’s luck. She will have to practice with the arrow, and with guns, and today it was all just a test to see how much she will have to go there and it was decided one-two times a week depending on her schedule. Hannah can’t wait until next time.

“So Hannah will become a spy, and Carolina will write a song for the drama… EM, what are you up to?” Yunho jokes as they get together for a picture that will be uploaded on SM Entertainment’s Facebook page. He puts an arm around Emelia’s shoulders to smile friendly to the camera that will take the picture.

“Hu,” Emelia makes an offended sound, “I’m a very busy woman, Oppa.”

“Emelia will go solo,” Maria answers, hitting Hannah at the back of the head for the youngest to stop checking her cell phone in this moment. Changmin chuckles standing on Maria’s other side, telling them all to smile widely for the camera.

After taking the picture, there is more hugging before the ladies have to go to catch a plane. It’s in the middle of the night but they take the last flight back to Seoul, now when their schedule has been changed.

Waiting at the airport to board the plane, Hannah is yawning behind her hand and constantly stretching out her arms tiredly, hiding her face behind her hands when stretching too. She has no idea of how fans can find out where they go all the time; even now, in the middle of the night, some fans have found a way to locate the three girls and are now standing behind some windows, waving their hands and having their cell phones or system cameras out. It is those system cameras that make fans look like paparazzi. They are the reason Hannah can’t be still, to why she keeps hiding her face.

“Julia is at home now,” Emelia says when sitting down, facing Hannah and Maria. “She says the whole apartment is filled with cameras.”

“Not in every room,” Manager Lee tells the girls. “Your bedrooms, bathrooms and offices don’t have any cameras.”

“But outside our rooms, it is plenty of cameras.”

For their reality show Life of Pieces, MTV always puts up cameras in the apartment, also giving the girls their own camera so when the crew isn’t around to film the ladies can still film on their own. For privacy, bathrooms and bedrooms are a place no cameras are allowed to be put up; the ladies can decide on their own if they want to film in there with their own cameras, while the offices were chosen to not be filmed because … honestly, the ladies haven’t asked for a reason because they don’t really care. It just means more spaces they can play hide and seek.

“And there are personal cameras waiting on our beds so we can film on our own too,” Emelia adds, getting up as they can finally board the plane.

Hannah doesn’t say much about the topic. Either way if there is a camera in her room or not, Jonghyun won’t be able to come over because of all the other cameras, so she doesn’t care much where the cameras are.

The flight goes fast and it doesn’t take all too long until the three girls are in the van on the way home. The topic now is Life of Pieces, or more likely the teaser for Season 4 that today has come out. Hannah can’t believe she hasn’t checked it out for the whole day, and when she first saw it on the plane she couldn’t stop laughing. The teaser shows 5 Pieces standing on the Japanese arena tour stage with Carolina who at that time was hurt and couldn’t perform with them even if she was there with them for the final song, and the girls are crying and being thankful to their fans while the text ‘Finishing off their first arena tour in Japan, bringing in over 145,500 fans for 13 concerts, 5 Pieces brings you backstage to reveal LIFE OF PIECES. It’s real, it’s honest and you will see the true hearts of five girls, no longer teenagers’ appears, playing 5 Pieces’ Japanese song [Run Out] in the background for the clip.

Once all of the text has come by, the music goes away to reveal these second long clips for what will appear in the season. First up is randomly of Julia and Carolina just moving their hands in some weird and simple, boring dance; the second one is Hannah speaking, but she says something in Japanese before laughing and she points somewhere else, laughing some more before she jumps and claps her hands as the camera shows Carolina stretching for some unknown reason; evilly laughing in her own way, Emelia is walking away with some food, only the camera sees her face, and someone calls her name and she is fast to shout “I’m not eating!”; which of course must be followed by a clip of the girls eating and another of them showing very much interest in some Japanese food that they are trying out; loudly the girls are calling out for each other, asking things and more while packing, several different clips of 5 Pieces packing in their apartment to move; Maria says to someone “oh please, I’m fabulous and you know it”, throwing her hair like a diva she is known to be and the last clip is of when Julia has finished her solo debut performance and 5 Pieces are hugging and lifting her up like crazy, all of them laughing and the teaser ends by showing the date 25.07.13 – the date the season will begin.

 

- “No one is like 5 Pieces. Season 4, seriously? Please continue forever~~ season after season filled with the lady-like ladies of 5 Pieces =)”

- “THUMBS UP if you can’t wait to see more of 5 Pieces!”

- “5 Pieces is moving? OMG they are all so pretty! And look how happy they are when hugging Julia! Congratulations to 5 Pieces’ sweet sweetie Julia for your solo debut~”

I’m still trying to take in the beautiful sight of their concert posters and now I have to add the craziness of Pieces in their reality show??????? But seriously, I LOVE IT! Please don’t ever stop!”

- “I want to see pets in this season! O___O”

- “Will SHINee and Jonghyun come on this season? X_X Anyone else curious if Hannah will proudly show off her boyfriend?”

- “Tah! 5 Pieces is always the best, they bring in laughter and everything and OMFG this will be hilarious! Better than ever!”

 

“Do you expect me to believe that?” Maria asks in a loud voice when they are getting out of the elevator, letting Emelia go first because Maria can’t remember the code to the door.

Hannah gives a pout. “It is the truth. Ask him yourself. But don’t say I wanted you to ask him. You know he met that guy!”

“Yeah, but it was one drunk night, so what?” Maria shrugs her shoulders. “Unless I see a picture of evidence that he even exist, I don’t believe Yong Oppa is going on actual dates without telling us.”

“Julia told me,” Hannah whispers, as if that is fact enough. Maria gives her a stare while Emelia opens the door, shouting out that they are home.

“I’ll ask him tomorrow,” Maria finishes telling Hannah when they get inside the apartment before the leader calls out; “WHO MISSED ME?!”

At times, Hannah thinks her members forget that they aren’t the only ones living in this building. The fact that it is over two in the morning and the girls are shouting to each other makes her wonder if their neighbour will start complaining soon, though Hannah get in other thoughts when spotting the camera right next to the door up in the right corner, filming in the hall. She can’t closer when leaning to the side to see it better. For some reason it feels familiar to have camera in the apartment, though she yet hasn’t gotten used to have this as her apartment. She still have a lot of insecurities about this new place; that it is two floors, that it is so big, that she has her own bathroom with Emelia while the others have a Jacuzzi… No, she just hasn’t gotten used to the place.

“Oh, a camera!”

Hannah expects Maria to pop up her head next to hers, but no one comes so Hannah turns around, seeing that another camera is across the hall, focusing more out towards the guest bathroom and laundry. Hannah throws off her shoes and jogs inside when hearing familiar claws over the floor in the apartment and like a child she hurries inside, calling the name of their two puppies and bursting out in a cheerful shout when spotting Michin and she hurries around to happily let him chase her and Ryo comes too, happy over the excitement. Hannah lies down flat on her stomach on the floor, laughing when Ryo gets his front paws on her back and Michin lies down in front of her to try reaching her face. They seem just as happy to meet her as she is to meet them.

Hannah groans loudly when Emelia sits on top of her, lifting Ryo up to have him on Hannah’s back.

“You should have seen it!” Emelia is saying out loudly to Julia, who is in the kitchen putting away some dishes; she says she has complained at Carolina just leaving dishes around. Hannah is more impressed with that Julia is the one cleaning up – or it could be just because of the cameras there. The youngest is still too busy laughing on the floor, complaining on her own that Emelia is sitting on top of her.

Maria is during the time they are fooling and laughing walking around with Ace in her arms. She sees two cameras in the living-room, one in the kitchen – which she notices can spot every move they make in the kitchen (no secret eating here) – there is one camera out by the stairs too, and then she goes up another floor to spot three cameras in the corner so the whole corridor is being filmed beside from right at the stairs. She walks all over to the room they will use as a wardrobe, which at the moment has no clothes in it at all, but it is one camera there that she gives a small grimace at before sneaking away. During the whole round tour she is cuddling with Ace in her arms. Between the stairs and Emelia’s bedroom it is another room, which apparently somehow will be used as some kind of play room. Maria really doesn’t get the use of the room, other than it is a smaller TV in there with X-box and toys for their pets – play room.

“Aren’t they noisy downstairs, little baby?” Maria is telling Ace in a low voice when directing her steps to her bedroom.

Maria’s bedroom has a bed in the corner, boxes in another corner but its contents are spread out around the room while she has been trying to decide how to have everything in the drawer and on the wall and … simply said; her bedroom is a mess. Ace actually loves Maria’s room, because he can hide at every single inch of the floor thanks to the many things there. On the bed, which only has sheets on it, is a smaller camera waiting for her. It is actually filming, so Maria sits down on the bed, still holding on to Ace, and she moves the camera around to film herself and the kitten.

“Who do you think you are, filming in a lady’s bedroom?” Maria asks the camera.

Downstairs, Hannah is still lying on the floor; Emelia has gone to the bathroom so Hannah is on her own cuddling with Ryo because Michin had run inside the kitchen in hope Julia would drop some food on the floor.

“Julia,” Maria makes another entrance after a few minutes, still walking around with Ace in her arms. “Is Yong Hyun dating someone?”

“Oh…” Julia turns around with big eyes. Gossip is always fun. “You know that guy he met at a party? Oppa had exchanged number with him, and now they have met two times.”

“How do you know?” Maria’s voice is light, not understanding how the other members can know if their stylist is dating but the diva leader does not know.

“He told me before,” Julia shrugs her shoulders, remembering how their stylist had been giggling at his cell phone when he was helping Julia with what to wear on the variety show recording they had today.

“Told you so,” Hannah giggles from the floor, finally getting up.

Maria takes a seat around the kitchen table, continuing to talk about their stylists as she is well aware of that their reality show won’t air them talking about these things. Hannah heads to her bedroom after making sure Ryo can walk up the stairs – he has no problem at all going up the stairs after her.

Waiting on Hannah’s bed is also a camera, which makes Hannah fall down on her knees next to the bed and look at the camera filming her. She waves at it before she picks it up, telling Ryo to jump up on her bed so she can film the little puppy who is curious to know what she has in her hands.

 

But it is really early in the morning so the ladies get ready for bed half an hour later, but when Hannah is lying in her bed, trying to sleep; she can hear movements from the room next too. That is from Emelia’s room. At first she just let it be, but when the noise doesn’t stop she walks inside the bathroom as a shortcut to get inside Emelia’s room.

Her friend is sitting on the floor, her head and arms in one of the moving boxes when Hannah first peeks inside.

“What are you doing?” Hannah whispers by the door. Emelia looks up. Her long black hair is in a braid lying down her back; she is wearing a tank top and pyjamas shorts, Emelia’s usual nightwear.

“Yo,” Emelia says in a greeting before turning back to whatever it is she is doing. “I’m not tired just yet, thought of a few things.”

“What were you thinking about?” Hannah wonders, talking in a low voice and sitting down on Emelia’s bed to look at her friend who is going through some things.

“All kind of things,” Emelia shrugs her shoulders with a sigh, not stopping what she is doing. “Mostly about the concert. DBSK are really great, and their fans are just amazing and … well, this is our fifth year; we are preparing our second tour, but I can’t stop thinking that we aren’t that good just yet. I know that we are great as 5 Pieces – our dances are definitely at the top with our third album and we are great performing live – all of us know it. But can we pull off a three-hour long concert; wearing high heels, in those kinds of choreographies and singing from beginning to end? I doubt it.”

“Maria is positive we can pull it off – we did it last year.”

“Yeah, because last year we wore sneakers and the choreography weren’t as intense for all the songs,” Emelia sounds annoyed and she even rolls her eyes, which makes Hannah give a pout. Emelia looks up at Hannah, stopping doing the other things and her eyes are focused. “I’m not the worrying type, Hannah, but I can’t take this out of my head. In just a month we are supposed to be ready with the concert, and we don’t even know what songs we will perform.”

“We are starting the practices next week, I’m sure it will be okay,” Hannah whispers. “You shouldn’t worry about it; we got great people working with us for the concert too, right? And if we can’t handle it, we’ll make it work anyway. That’s what we do, right?”

“Yeah sure,” Emelia sighs and lies down on her back on the floor. Emelia sighs again, and Hannah just sits there quietly, not knowing what to say.

“Kyung Ho said SM wants to promote him more,” Hannah says and clears .

“Promote him how?”

“He has been offered a commercial deal,” Hannah answers. Her friend clearly notices that her voice hasn’t just gotten quieter, it has gotten sadder. “Because he got quite the attention for this drama now, people are asking for him. They even want him on radio programs.”

“And you don’t like it because…?”

“He’s a kid, Emelia. He’s nine years old; he should be in school and focus on that,” it is Hannah’s turn to sound annoyed. “I would be fine if he was nineteen, but he is too young.”

“You let him start with acting, why change it now? He is doing amazing, and everyone is noticing his talents, it’s alright,” Emelia tells her, not having the same sister-brother relation to the little boy. Kyung Ho had signed the contract with SM Entertainment as an actor, and whenever he has talked to someone there he has to tell it to Hannah. She never asked him to tell her everything, he just does it anyway. Hannah is glad for it though, because it means he wants her to know he is treated right and that he makes good decisions. He has gotten a manager (who Hannah actually knows), he has ditched his school teacher who still asks him how everything is going, but it surely looks bright for the young boy.

Hannah can’t stop pouting though. “It was acting. Now … it is everything. He has school; he should focus on school! Not … go promote him self like an idol.” All of a sudden, Emelia starts smiling widely.

“That’s nice.”

“What’s nice?” Hannah gives her friend a glare, not liking the tone of Emelia when she is telling her own worries.

“You care for him, what else?” Emelia chuckles and sits up. “Listen to me: Kyung Ho looks up to you. If you tell him ‘no’, he will not do it. But don’t think of his age. Kyung Ho has spent half of his life at the hospital, and now he has something he really wants to do. With just one word, you can tell him to live his dream – or end it.”

“Not end it, just not live it full out,” Hannah whispers. She looks down with a guilty look because Emelia gives her this same-thing look over the comment.

“He seems excited though,” Emelia comments, continuing with her things; “Signed with SM, being under our wings… being asked to go here and there…”

Hannah admits that Kyung Ho is excited about everything going on. “His grades are still good though.”

“Let him promote himself if he wants then,” Emelia finishes the topic and Hannah gives a nod, sighing before saying goodnight, “More likely ‘good morning’ if you check what time it is.”

“I’ll say that when I wake up,” Hannah comments and leaves the room.

Emelia gives a smirk, knowing Hannah never says anything in the morning because she is just … not awake for it.

 

Those hours pass by quickly and Hannah is after waking up with her members getting ready for the day. They wake up and get ready after eating breakfast and leave the apartment to head to SM Entertainment. The only thing scheduled for Hannah today is choreography practice for [WHO-I AM], which can seem very relaxing compared to if she would have to go abroad or go back and forth from different places, but it’s not.

For today’s practice they are filming for Life of Pieces, which they have done all morning, and the ladies are learning the tough choreography for [WHO-I AM]. The dance teacher who helps them to learn the choreography is Shin Jae Young, a man who looks a little like actor Cha Seung Won with the haircut and thin moustache, though his hair is a little brown rather than black compared to the actor. He wears a tight zip-up jacket today and jeans, looking freaky with eyes telling you all to not mess around with him.

Hannah doesn’t like him much.

“No, look at me,” Shim Jae Young points at Hannah and then at his eyes before he steps up to show her how to do the dance correctly. Hannah puts her hands on her hips, eyeing him before she tries to copy the same move.

It isn’t that she can’t do the dance; it is just that her hand doesn’t do that big movement he wants them to do. She needs to take more space.

The thing with their teacher that she doesn’t like is that he picks on every tiny thing over and over again, and if he notices one mistake he will pick on that even if you make it right. Hannah knows he does it for them to not repeat the same mistake, but she is still finding it annoying. That doesn’t mean she shows it, she still tries her best and looks at her members to do the same as them during practice.

For hours they are practicing, going through the choreography and being the serious ladies as their teacher is not the joking type, so it is hours of just serious practice. They get a good result, anyway, which is what they need.

“It would be better if we would like … practice, do the video and then go to Okinawa,” Carolina is babbling, “instead of practice, Okinawa and then do the video.”

“Just shut up,” Maria rolls her eyes in amusement and throws someone’s cap towards Carolina. Hannah smiles, knowing their leader is just fooling around. Carolina is talking about their schedule, about that they are practicing the choreography now for two days before going to Okinawa to film for a few days and then when they come back they will have like a day to practice the choreography again before they will film the music video for [WHO-I AM]; a special video to promote their concert tour.

Hannah gets up on her feet when Carolina starts to practice the choreography they have learnt so far on her own, so Hannah joins her. She can’t sit down and do nothing when someone else is practicing. The choreography isn’t that difficult, but the actual song is. [WHO-I AM] has a lot of rap and a hip style, and the lyrics are really cool; talking about facing difficulties and winning fights which actually means you win obstacles in your life. In this song, it is about 5 Pieces. A really cool song that is about 5 Pieces passing through antis and becoming a popular group against all odds – there is a reason this song was chosen to be 5 Pieces’ promotional song for the concert. It represents 5 Pieces.

“I love a good challenge,” Emelia smirks when getting up on her feet with the others, going to start the practice again. She likes that the song isn’t really a song the group usually performs, but she loves the song and the lyrics and now the dance, even if all of it together is a good challenge for the ladies.

They practice for as long as they can before Julia goes to her schedule and the other ladies practice for a little longer before they too leave. 5 Pieces head home with the filming crew, starting to unpack and make their apartment look more like a home. Hannah is fixing her room; taking up books and whatnot on the long white bookcase standing along the wall next to her bed. It is her hiding room; no cameras in there, letting her unpack on her own and be occupied with her cell phone as well.

Her bedroom will end up being very simple. A bed in the corner, a bedside table next too as it doesn’t really fit anything else there and she has her favourite bookcase standing along the wall before it is the door and across the other wall from the door leading inside the bedroom is a door to the bathroom, and on the short wall between the two doors is a full-size mirror in the corner and a brand new drawer for mostly clothes. She sorts out the things she will hang up on the walls by leaning it against the short-end of the bed, so she can focus on putting up things on the bookcase. The bookcase has four floors, divided in three sections on each floor with the middle one the widest. On the top middle floor and the second from below she fills with books, and then she stares at the three books on the bed she can’t fit in the bookcase.

“What to do with you three…” she mutters, but she continues to fill up the bookcase with other things, forgetting about the leftover books at the moment.
