Chapter 25

Youngest of Pieces: [WHO- I AM] (8)

“It’s out!” Carolina shouts when jumping inside the practice-room.

Maria stops to sing for her solo song that she has been practicing and going through with the band, almost glaring at Carolina for interrupting but the moment Carolina starts to jump around with the tablet in her hands and shouting that the PV is out, Maria does like the other members and gathers around the jumping member.

Its two days after Emelia’s birthday – Friday – and the girls have been practicing the whole morning in the practice-room. Maria has finally decided on her solo song (BoA’s Japanese song [Meri Kuri], which is really beautiful) and the band seems to have it easy to learn that song, maybe because it is Japanese, but they have still been practicing for a while now.

5 Pieces stands close to each other to together watch the tablet in Carolina’s hands that she is holding out for them all to see, together watching the full promotional video for [Run Out], their first album PV. The girls are just as excited to watch the full PV as they are to read the response online.

“Whoa…” Maria starts to giggle a few seconds in to the song, amazed by how cool it actually looks.

The video for [Run Out] has simple backgrounds with 5 Pieces dancing mostly throughout the whole video. It doesn’t follow a story. The beginning is really cool though, with close-ups of Emelia’s face and eyes when she seems to be sleeping. You can’t really see the surrounding other than you know it is dark, and before the music begins she opens her eyes, looking straight at the camera above her. The music begins and a glimpse of the girls in a smoky (clouds) background is shown when they begin to dance. A glimpse of the camera filming just Julia and Carolina on one side when they make the shift dance move, a second long solo scene glimpse of a full-body shot of first Julia and then Maria before the dance scene appears again, this time from the right side where Emelia and Maria are and the solo scene after takes of Carolina and Emelia. Emelia’s voice is heard saying something in English when the dance scene is seen again, this time a full-shot of all five girls. The dance that is seen during the beginning now is very simple with a few hip movements from side to side along to the beat, a very good opening part of the song. The girls starts to step forward, the camera filming from another angle to film them below on the side before it gets a close-up on Hannah’s solo scene as she starts to sing. It mixes between her solo to the dance, filming her from shoulders and up and glances of the members behind, but focuses on Hannah’s face and her shoulders when she dances and lip-synchs to [Run Out], and full body shots to reveal how the group dances together too.

The outfits for the PV is simple, showing off the girls’ thighs with over-the-knee long boots and playsuit looking clothes, each outfit about the same but shifting from black/silver to silver to purple/silver depending on the scenes. But the PV definitely looks really good.

After looking through the video, the girls just have to watch the comments:

- “Can’t stop hitting the replay button”

- “5 Pieces has upgraded once more! I didn’t mind them being fully dressed before because they are totally awesome, but in this PV they are stunning from top to toe!”

- “Wow”

- “I swear I can die over and over when seeing Maria smile to the camera…”

- “They should have this kind of concept in Korea too 0__0”

- “I love how Japan just flaunts Hannah’s beauty through 5P’s video from beginning to end while she in Korea gets this small special part in a song but nothing more :) Japan loves Hannah~~”

- “They better promote this song a lot……. I’m drooling over them: y/charismatic 5 Pieces is my favourite!”

- “5P can be y too? XD”

- “OH MY 5 Pieces is not kidding when they say they are taking over, Japan will fall on their knees for the ladies with this song XD No one has done this in japan before, and I ing love how 5 Pieces didn’t go all cutie cute like everyone else does in Japan. This is evolution!”

- “Cool and addicting track ;) looking forward to their activities in japan ^^.”

- “It’s a little boring…”

- “Hannah is naturally y, ofc she rocks this mv. She shines through the whole video~~”

- “5 Pieces is taking over Japan the same way they over Korea – by not doing like everyone else. Great song, great dance, great PV – 5 Pieces is awesome wherever they go!”

- “The Japanese version of [Daze]? Damn, I swear this dance will be just as popular ;)”

- “Stunningly beautiful Pieces <3”

- “They are becoming an ordinary girl-group now; selling their bodies -.-”

Answer on the one above - “Hell no they are not! They could be wearing long sleeves and baggy pants and still sell this song like crazy!”

- “Julia looks amazing O_O OMG why hasn’t she had this short hair before??? Reminds me of Emma Watson!”

- “I love how they mooooove ;) and whenever Hannah looks in the camera… or whenever she is seen… gorgeous~”

- “5P Craze is making history in Japan!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man this song is perfect all from music, choreography, clothes to Pieces. They all look so great here and the dance is omg so great and the quality is ooooh and omg this is freaking the best I have seen of 5 Pieces – better than [Daze]!”

- “Hannah is in the middle all the time here o_o Hannah isn’t my favourite (Emelia is), but with her in the middle the rest of the members look to have better bodies XD Just look at those s during the chorus, how she moves and look at those eyes O_O No offence but it is about time she in the middle; they look completely different with her in the middle!! My most favourite part is in the beginning though, Emelia looks animated XD”

- “Agree with the one above, xD She definitely gets most parts too, though I think Carolina and Maria has better voices, but damn her body should never be spoken bad about”

- “Japan is filled with nosebleed now, mohahahahaha”

- “addicted to 5 Pieces songs”

- “I love this! Those clothes, that dance, those voices and BODIES O_O”

“I like the nosebleed one,” Maria giggles.

“I like … most of them.”

“Who is Emma Watson…?” Julia wonders in a low voice, but three heads still turns to look at her with huge eyes.

“YOU DON’T KNOW WHO EMMA WATSON IS????”

Something that is a must to know in 5 Pieces (and if you are their fan) is that they are fans of Harry Potter. Hannah and Maria are crazy because they even play out to be Hannah Potter and so on, but Emelia is also a big fan, though Julia isn’t much of a fan…

“That hurts,” Maria pretends to cry, holding her hands pressed to her chest, sadly looking down. “My heart is hurting… We must have a Harry Potter lesson with you. How can you not know who Emma Watson is?”

Hannah giggles though, because just with one question they changed the amazement over their PV to the surprise over Harry Potter. Maria though doesn’t say who Emma Watson is, so when the girls are continuing to comment on the video and Carolina is happily dancing to the song, Julia turns to Hannah to quietly ask her who it is.

“She plays Hermione Granger in Harry Potter,” Hannah laughs, embracing her friend for being so clueless about something like this – often when 5 Pieces have gone abroad, or whenever they have had watched movies, every other month it will be a Harry Potter movie.

They go back to practice right after reading the comments, Hannah’s mind a little repeating with some of the comments that was about her and how she always is at the front for this song. Hannah has the most parts in [Run Out], it would be a lie to not even admit that, and she is dancing at the front often too, but it is just one song and they are coming out with a whole album that they will perform at the arena tour, so hopefully people won’t be upset that Hannah takes the front for one song.

Hannah is yawning when Maria’s song practice has ended, and the staff has some news to tell the girls.

“Originally it was decided that Carolina and Hannah will perform [I Love Rock ‘n Roll], but we have looked through the solo practice videos, and have decided that Emelia will perform it with Carolina instead,” the girls are told. Hannah’s mouth is open when listening, not finding a single question to ask because her head is filled with them.

Carolina and Emelia will perform? Then what will Hannah do? She has been the one practicing with Carolina…

“Julia has said she wants to perform [Teenage Dream] by …”

“Katy Perry,” Julia fills in.

“By Katy Perry, and first we thought Emelia could perform it with her but Emelia’s voice doesn’t match the high-pitch of [Teenage Dream]… So if Hannah could perform with Julia, then Emelia could perform with Carolina,” he suggests and Julia smiles at Hannah, as if her smile is going to make Hannah shine up and agree on it.

But Hannah is disappointed. She has been practicing and looked forward to perform [I Love Rock ‘n Roll]… Emelia doesn’t mind performing that song, already coming up with the idea of playing the electric guitar during the performance. Hannah doesn’t even know the lyrics to the song Julia is going to perform, though she has heard Julia practicing it a few times, and especially heard the band practice it. Everyone waits for a response, and Emelia and Carolina have already accepted it so Hannah just nods, not really having a choice.

“We just have one paper with the lyrics to share you and me,” Julia whispers when sitting down next to Hannah, showing the paper she has been using with the English lyrics for [Teenage Dream]. Hannah looks through the lyrics while hearing Carolina and Emelia starting to practice, Emelia simply taking Hannah’s parts though they seem to do some changes after singing it two-three times.

“So how do we share the parts?” Hannah asks Julia in a low voice, the two of them staying on the floor while the others are practicing.

Hannah takes out her writing pad so she can copy the lyrics, making space so she can write down later who will sing which parts.

“Both sing the chorus,” Julia is explaining and making a note on her own paper where the choruses are. “Then … I want to do the first verse, so you can take the second…”

“And you take the third before the chorus?” Hannah wonders while Julia starts to sing to know how it goes.

The others practicing in the room is loud, and because Hannah isn’t confident in the song the two of them steps outside in the staircase so Hannah can listen to the song on Julia’s cell phone and they can practice the parts on their own; decide who will sing what. It is super high. Hannah has so much trouble to sing the parts in the right tone, and she thinks Julia is kind of enjoying it because she does better than Hannah.

It isn’t that difficult to sort out who will sing what, but to actually learn the song is difficult for Hannah – the lyrics and the tones are difficult. Julia doesn’t know it completely either, so once their turn to practice with the band begins they have to change things because the band makes it sound a little differently and they realise how different it sounds with a live band than with a finished audio sound. They need to practice with the back-up singers and the ending is worrying too, and then they have to go through the small dance.

But before anything of that has time to be finished, they eat dinner and have to practice other songs. The band and the dancers all gets to leave – 5 Pieces friendly telling them to rest until next time – and the five ladies have other things they have to focus on.

In the middle of their Japan Arena Tour practices, 5 Pieces have other schedules to attend too. They are tomorrow going to Bangkok and Manila during the day to perform, and the ladies sit down on the floor in the practice-room to decide what songs to perform. One in the staff stays to film them; it is the agency filming but other countries/shows can get parts of it too, but none of the girls take much notice of it, too used to have cameras around them in the practice-room by now.

“In Bangkok, they want you to perform four songs,” Manager Lee says, sitting with them on the floor with the papers for their schedules.

“In a row?” Maria sounds surprised, moving her sitting position to sit more comfortable.

“You can talk in between,” he tells them.

“In what language?” Maria wonders. “Do they speak English there?”

“You will speak in English.”

“Nice. Then what songs should we perform – four songs?” Maria asks, looking at the members.

“[Daze] and [Black & White] are probably a must to perform as they were our latest,” Hannah answers.

“In English or Korean?”

“[Daze] should at least be in English because we will perform it on other shows after in Shanghai the day after too,” Emelia answers, pointing at the schedule where it says they are making a TV recording in Shanghai where they also have added up [Daze] as a song to perform.

“[Black & White] should also be in English then,” Julia says, “because we do have that song in English.”

Their manager is nodding in agreement; the choreographer sitting with them seems to agree on that too though she asks if they remember the English lyrics.

“We’ll just learn them anew then, it’s not like they are completely forgotten,” Maria simply answers. “But we still have two more songs to add on this one.”

“[I Love You],” Julia shrugs her shoulders.

“Can’t we do like … perform a song where we don’t have to dance?” Carolina suggests. “Perform all four songs with just a few words said in between will be tiring, and we have more performances that day already.”

“Okay,” Maria agrees, actually liking that. “But what song do we have?”

Silence.

Hannah keeps looking at their schedule for tomorrow. They are going to Korea for a Skin Care promotion, then head to Bangkok for this performance before heading straight to Manila, Philippines, for a performance there around midnight too. Because of their Arena Tour practices, SM Entertainment made this schedule because the girls need the practice, and to have the other countries wanting the girls to perform can’t always be ignored because they have other things to do.

“We should perform [Original],” Julia suggests, “as the last song. It was popular in Thailand, wasn’t it? And it isn’t anything strange with that song; we just perform it like we usually do.”

“[Original] is a good idea,” their manager agrees before the other girls answers.

“What about [Oppa] then?” Emelia wonders. “It’s our latest song. If we are doing some slow song, a ballad or something… what about [Oppa]?”

“We can do a ballad version of that?” Carolina suggests brightly. “Acapella-”

“Wait. If we do [Original], [Black & White] and [Daze] – that is three serious songs,” Maria says, her eyes looking at the others as if they should understand what she means. “I think we should do [Oppa] or [I Love You] too, to add some colours to it.”

“So we’ll do only new songs?” Carolina grimaces.

“We should take the chance to perform [Original],” Julia mentions, “We don’t get to perform that song often. It’s already three years since it was released.”

“…” Maria sighs.

Hannah starts to write in her pad, writing down the songs they have to perform. The main songs they have released for the past five years, sorting them into the charismatic songs vs. the cuter ones. They have a bunch of charismatic songs like [Black & White] and [Original], while for the cuter ones they have [Daze] and [One and Only]…

“[Black & White] and [Daze] are a must to perform anyway,” Maria sighs. “They are still high on the charts, in Thailand too. And [Original] is an important song for us…”

“So those three then,” Emelia confirms.

“Can’t we perform [Take the Key]?” Carolina suddenly shines up. “We can do an guitar version of it – I and Julia already know it on the guitar. And we have it in English, which is great! And there is no dan-”

“[Take the Key] would actually be good.” Emelia interrupts her without problem.

“What about a different colour song?” Hannah wonders.

Maria sighs loudly, feeling helpless.

Their manager sighs too, picking up his cell phone. “Do you want me to give some calls and ask if you can perform five songs?” he asks the ladies. He doesn’t get a response right away, because the girls also think of that they actually have to manage to perform that many songs at once with more schedules on the day.

“Okay,” Emelia finishes wondering and answers for them all. “Ask for five songs, and until we know how many songs it is we will practice those we know we will perform – the cool songs.”

“Fine,” Maria agrees, getting up. “What is our first song? The opening song?”

“[Daze],” Hannah is fast to answer, already thinking of how they could perform. “So the audience maybe doesn’t know if we will perform more songs after it, because [Daze] is rarely performed first.”

Maria gives her a high-five with a smile, saying that sounds good.

“[Daze], then [Black & White] before we introduces ourselves and then… it goes as it goes,” Maria says with the members standing up and their manager heading outside.

The girls already know [Daze] in English, so just simple going through it once they go over to [Black & White] – that song they need to study the English lyrics a little to not confuse it with the Korean.

Their manager comes back pretty soon, revealing that the director and staff of the Bangkok show would gladly let them perform more songs but choose just four to not have to ask for too much, but they will gladly welcome 5 Pieces to perform five and even six songs. So for a few more hours, 5 Pieces practices.

By the time they are done, the girls leave to go back to the apartment and pack their bags before going to sleep.

Hannah has been exhausted the past days, yawning and feeling tired all day long. Today is no different. When her head touches the pillow, she falls asleep right away. She thinks it is because of the heavy practices they are going through from morning to late evening. Yesterday she wasn’t that tired, but today she was tired again.

Emelia laughs at her, because Emelia wasn’t done packing and she was talking to Hannah when noticing that the girl was asleep, and that is probably a first. Hannah never falls asleep if someone talks to her, but Emelia just finds it funny. All of them get tired from all the practices, all the stress from what is happening lately even if they are having loads of fun practicing and being together, so Emelia doesn’t really blame the youngest.

Already at four in the morning Hannah wakes up. The apartment is quiet at that time, everyone else asleep, but Hannah wakes up by her own body unable to be still. Her stomach is hurting, making her unable to sleep and she keeps grimacing when turning and shifting in bed. Her eyes doesn’t open, still tired after sleeping for three hours, but she just can’t fall back asleep, her stomach out of nowhere hurting. She even sits up to see if it will get better, stands up and walks around the room a few times before realising it doesn’t help so she falls back in bed. Time passes fast though, and soon they all have to get up. They have to be at the airport close after six, the plane leaving at seven, and Hannah is quietly getting ready as if her stomach isn’t hurting.

Only at the plane to Seoul, Hannah tells Emelia that her stomach is hurting. Maria would freak out and ask why it hurts, but Emelia doesn’t freaking out, she just calmly asks if she has eaten something strange. But Hannah has eaten the same things as her members, and none of them have a stomach hurting, so Emelia says it’s probably just nerves or something.

The group gets ready in Seoul before they perform [Oppa], [I Love You] and [Daze] at the Skin Care Performance Event, while SNSD also is there and performs [I Got A Boy], [Gee] and [The Boys]. It is to just go there, perform, and change clothes before heading back to the airport.

Hannah changed into a charcoal gray v-neck t-shirt, simple jeans and a pair of black high-top sneakers with a hidden-heel. Feeling cold she wears a cardigan and jacket over, and when walking through the airport in Seoul she is also holding a blanket with her bag. Her stomach isn’t feeling well and after performing, Manager Lee mentioned that she looks a little pale – even if she is wearing make-up. Hannah said nothing about it, but it has seriously been hurting in her stomach. She hasn’t even eaten anything today just because she is worried the pain will turn to nausea. Emelia is prepared with everything for a flight, so she has these pills that is supposed to help for motion sickness; Emelia has a car sickness and airsickness, especially for longer rides so now when they will be travelling on the plane for five hours to Bangkok, Emelia makes sure Hannah takes some medicine for it too – in chase it will help.

Hannah gets to sit next to Carolina though, and Carolina talks nonstop. She is first studying some random Thai that she has to be study out loud and tries to make Hannah do it too, but when noticing Hannah isn’t interested at all she suggests them to read some Korean book – read a sentence each or something – but Hannah doesn’t read, so Carolina asks if she wants to watch a movie instead. And that, Hannah can agree on, all until Carolina wants to watch a Japanese movie to study Japanese; she starts to repeat words and ask Hannah what it could mean and how you actually say it… Hannah just sits there, looking like she is going to fall asleep, her legs constantly moving because her stomach still hurts and she leans forward a few times too. It doesn’t help.

“Carolina…” Hannah breathes out, finally saying something.

Carolina smiles brightly at her. “Yes? You want to watch another movie? This one isn’t so fun…”

“Can I get out?” Hannah asks, motioning for her friend that she wants to get out from her seat. Carolina gets a surprise, hesitating before getting up so Hannah can get out from her seat, pouting a little when seeing Hannah go. Hannah heads straight over to the airplane’s toilet, entering and locking the door after her.

Her stomach hurts and she keeps sweating to freeze the next second, and now she can’t avoid getting nausea from being on the plane either. Is she really sick? She can’t be sick. Her head starts spinning when going through what reason it could be for her to get sick at this time, feeling the sickness being all the way up to .

Cold sweating, Hannah leans over the toilet at the airplane.

And she still has three hours before they are supposed to land…

It isn’t really much for her to throw up, as she hasn’t eaten anything the whole day, and her stomach doesn’t seem like it want to force anything up either, but her stomach keeps hurting either way. She rinses several of times, wipes her face and keeps cold sweating, and when she thinks it is all over, it knocks on the door.

“Hannah?”

It’s Emelia.

Hannah hasn’t been this happy to hear her voice in a long time. She unlocks the door and opens it, swallowing in hope she won’t start to throw up again (or right at this moment anyway) and she looks up at Emelia who is holding something familiar in her hand.

“I brought your bag,” the friend says and hands it over.

“Thanks…” Hannah sighs and takes it. She has necessary things in there, like wet napkins and more, that will help her to stay clean and now she can also use it to clean up in the toilet in case it is stomach sickness – she is paranoid like this. Emelia closes the door, waiting outside while Hannah cleans up a little, takes two chewing gums in to freshen her breath and calms herself before she can step outside. Her bag has everything necessary.

“You okay?” Emelia wonders quietly.

Hannah shakes her head, now freezing. “I think I’m sick.”

“You think?” Emelia asks, the youngest stating the obvious. Hannah just grimaces, not in the mood.

Suddenly the youngest remembers something. They have been in the air for about two hours; why is Emelia awake? She gives her friend a weird look when asking that question, not really understanding it because Emelia should be completely asleep by now.

“You seemed pale, so I didn’t take the medicine in case you would need me,” Emelia answers with a shrug on her shoulders.

“Emelia-”

“I’m not the one throwing up, so don’t say anything stupid,” Emelia interrupts. “And I told Carolina to move to sit next to the manager so I could sit next to you.”

“I would hug you if I wasn’t sick,” Hannah sighs, honestly thankful for that she doesn’t have to sit next to Carolina. No matter how much she loves her friend, Carolina is just too clueless. Emelia smiles at the comment, leading Hannah to take her seat.

“And I would let you hug me if you wasn’t sick,” she tells from behind.

Emelia had even prepared one of these bags to be used for airsickness, in case Hannah would feel like throwing up again before she can run to the toilet.

After throwing up, Hannah actually falls asleep in her seat. Emelia is watching over her, the girl next to her first unable to lie still until she finds the most comfortable way to sit by leaning against the window with her blanket over her and leg actually put up against the armrest and foot without any shoe on resting on her bag on the floor to stay up and she is leaning slightly forward to the side. And Hannah is then completely knocked out until they are going to land, and Emelia had fallen asleep too, but Hannah was completely knocked out that even when landing her mind is asleep so she can’t walk straight. She would look drunk if it wasn’t for that sick-looking face of hers, all pale. Media and fans are at the airport, not crowded like it can be at times, but either way Hannah pulls up the hood for the cardigan to try hide her condition, and Emelia holds a protective arm around her. The other members seem clueless, maybe just thinking the girl is tired because they don’t really look each other in the face when landing and getting out of the airport because all they try to focus on is to get out of there safely. Hannah did put on a mouth mask to not have to breathe on others.

They get out the back-way and get inside a van waiting for them. Hannah had completely forgotten they will continue to be filmed for the documentary and programs alike that they have been filming in Japan recently; mostly for some Swedish show and then for an American documentary about 5 Pieces’ lives. Hannah, like always, sits down at the very back and hides behind Emelia’s seat. Normally it is Maria who sits there, but Emelia sat down there before Maria. Though they film most of the ride to the concert location, only a bit of it will be showed on the American documentary, where the voice will simply say “right after arriving in Bangkok, 5 Pieces gets in the car to head to the concert, and there is no resting in the car as their manager makes them go through their schedule and what to say during the concert”. Hannah falls asleep during that short ride too, feeling as if she is still on the plane. She is completely gone, not knowing why she is feeling like this today when she only was tired yesterday.

Because of the cameras, Manager Lee doesn’t say anything to Hannah until they reach the concert location and get out of the car. He puts his hand on her back, walking next to her and talks in a low voice to ask her about her condition.

“I threw up on the plane,” Hannah answers, still cold sweating. It’s impossible to see that she isn’t sick.

“But you can perform?” he wonders and Hannah nods. “I’ll call the doctor to see if he can come. You should have told me this before, Hannah.”

“I’m sorry,” Hannah whispers, but he just pats her on her back and says she must tell him everything. She continues to walk behind him when he leaves her side, and she lowers her head when the camera suddenly get visible – it had been filming on the manager’s other side. She thinks it doesn’t capture anything, but this part will air and a text will appear to say ‘not even being sick will stop the endless schedules’. But Hannah doesn’t complain, though it might seem that way on screen, and she doesn’t know it yet either.

Getting to the room backstage, the girls just leave their things before they go to greet the staff and the director before returning to change clothes, fix the make-up and hair and get ready for the stage. While getting ready backstage, Maria and the other members asks about Hannah’s condition; no cameras are there when they are changing clothes so they take that chance to ask her.

“So you can still perform?” Maria asks in her worried tone, her eyebrows raised at the youngest. Hannah just nods, her stomach still hurting so she can’t even force out a smile, and Maria gives a pout at that and embraces her. Hannah gives out a sound over the hug. “We are one in the group, remember? If you are sick, I’m sick with you.”

“You won’t say that when you are the sick one,” Emelia chuckles behind them.

Their manager informs them when the cameras are coming, so the girls changes the subject and finishes up getting ready with microphones and their manager is going through what songs they will do and says that the staff is all informed on it.

Hannah checks her make-up in the mirror. It is thicker than usually to hide that she is sick, and from a distance it might not be seen that she is sick; if she can manage to make a better face-expression than the one she has had for the last six hours.

Julia is being interviewed by the camera, speaking in English.

“The difficult thing when making appearances like this is when we can’t have a rehearsal before. We were sent a picture of the stage yesterday and could practice according to that, but we haven’t rehearsed with the staff or the cameras or actually stood in the stage… and that is difficult because we can’t be as prepared,” Julia is saying. “When we were rookies we made many mistakes, but we have learnt from those mistakes so we try to not repeat them.”

Hannah tries her best to avoid the camera, constantly walking around across the room. She shakes her hands, trying to hide that her whole body is shaking.

It is hot in Bangkok, but Hannah is freezing. She is wearing a black and green top with a buckle sleeveless jacket, a pair of leather pants with buckled-details on the sides – [Daze] inspired outfit that matches her members. Before going up on stage she is actually having the blanket around her to try getting warm, and she lets their stylist make sure her make-up looks good many times during the short time backstage. The ladies simply warm up their voices together, and Maria’s voice is loud as she is reminding the girls of things when they now are leaving to get to the stage. Hannah takes off her blanket and when walking to the stage she is cheering with the ladies to keep their moods up.

“Don’t overdo it,” Maria is quietly telling Hannah when they are next to the stage. Maria pats Carolina on the shoulder for her to listen too, “Don’t you overdo it either. We have more songs than just one to perform, so don’t put all energy on the first one.”

Hannah keeps nodding and clearing , her whole body shivering from being cold though her head is all warm. It’s their turn any second now. She breathes in and out, trying to calm herself, not caring at all for the cameras and continuing to nod at whatever the members say. With a final deep breath, the staff tells the ladies to get up on the stage to take their positions and Hannah hurries after the others, running across the stage to take her position. Emelia touches her hand when they walk by each other, and Hannah sees that she touches Julia’s hand too – getting confidence from each other.

They can do this, even if one of them is sick; they can always perform. Because this is what they do and what they live for. Now, Bangkok is ready for 5 Pieces.

[Daze] starts to play, a feminine and charismatic and graceful song all from lyrics to choreography. It is the song that has been topping the music charts all around the world, the song that is the reason so many cameras are now following 5 Pieces.

Hannah starts of well, her head turns from side to side and hand glides up and down her body before they are shifting position, and when standing behind each other in a line, Hannah almost looses her balance when they are parting from the formation. It is a tiny mistake, nothing else. The whole song is performed better than Hannah expected, and that maybe isn’t good because her face-expression is the same from beginning to end (Hannah is known for having a playful smile during the performances, which she doesn’t have today) and she seems to be looking elsewhere than the front most of the time. She knows her behaviour, the mistakes in it she makes, and when [Black & White] starts right after, she tries to do a little better. Her face-expression doesn’t change beside from when she does a small side-kick during the choreography, a small grimace like she always does for that part, but then her face goes flat again. It feels like she is performing while sleeping, knowing both the lyrics and the choreography so well that she could probably be doing it asleep, but thinking of that, Hannah tries to focus even more. She doesn’t want to seem like she is sleeping during their performance, even if she can’t enjoy it like she always does. The audience is screaming and singing along, chanting the lyrics and their names, going totally crazy over the songs, performances and 5 Pieces.

But though the audience is the best there is; Hannah can’t do better. Her condition today is probably the worst she has had this and last year, though she last year had a full week where she had a horrible cold while doing her solo promotions with [Butterfly], she felt still more awake when performing. Hannah has fainted when practicing before, and being this sleepy in the middle of a performance can not be a good sign. She has no idea of why she is feeling like this, and though it might be scaring, Hannah just wants it to pass because this is not the time to be sick.

Five girls gathers after [Black & White] has ended, a little out of breath and sweating in the hot weather and they lines up next to each other on the stage where the audience in front of them has been trying to get closer and closer to during the two songs just performed.

“BANGKOK!” Carolina gives a cheerful jump when shouting it out and she laughs by herself over the audience’s wild cheer.

Hannah slightly claps her hands, holding the microphone in one hand so she claps her other hand on her wrist slightly. The girls are always happy to be on stage, and now Hannah can take time to look at the audience. She can almost not see the end of the crowd, seeing hands waving up in the air by the outside stage; there are a lot of people. And there are a lot of people liking 5 Pieces.

“Pieces of one,” Carolina cheerfully starts the greeting and out of habit the other members joins in; “hello, we are 5 Pieces!”

They introduce themselves in both Korean and English; Hannah probably not looks like the most cheerful member but she does give a smile during the introduction. The girls speak in English, talking about being invited to perform there tonight and the great response from the audience and also bringing up the talk about the two songs they just performed; having a little fun asking the audience if they knew the songs – another member saying it was obvious they knew the songs.

“Is it okay if we perform a calmer song next for you all?” Maria asks in a loud voice when the girls are stepping back. Carolina and Julia are both getting a chair to sit down, preparing with their acoustic guitars and staff helps to put microphones so it can be heard. The audience is agreeing loudly. “Maybe you don’t know this song, but it is part in our English single with [Black & White] and it is also in our third Korean album… even if you don’t know the song, please listen to it.”

Fans have already started to scream when she explains where the song comes from, without even saying its name.

“This is the song … [Take the Key],” Carolina ends the introduction before she starts to play the guitar and glances at Julia who plays with her.

Almost right away, Maria starts to sing in a soothing voice to the acoustic R&B song. Hannah has barely any parts in this song, but she gives a few glances at her members and tries her best to smile softly out over the audience, or she is just looking out at the audience. She is trying to decide on how she is feeling when standing there, shifting the weight to one foot to the other. It feels like she has something up in , something stuck but it isn’t really something she can swallow down, and her stomach is empty but it hurts and is worrying. It doesn’t feel like she is going to throw up or hurts that bad that she has to bend forward, but if she have to describe it in one word, it would be worrying.
