I woke up to the sound of my wind chimes. I couldn’t help but think back to the discovery I had last night. As I wore my cardigan over my pajamas, I thought of Kyuhyun singing to me with his eyes closed and at the very moment, he looked so much like Hyun. And the voice too.

Was it a coincidence that I never met the both of them together? Like for example at the blood donation center’s promotional event. Only after Kyuhyun left me, Hyun arrived at the center. The first time Kyuhyun invited me for dinner at the yoga studio; I rejected him and then I met Hyun outside the blood donation center after that. Hyun too asked me out for dinner which I switched to coffee instead.

That evening I met Mrs Cho where I found out Kyuhyun lived next to me. There was underlying feeling that I got every time I met either of them, I felt like I’ve known the person more than I expected myself to know. I mean, I seemed to feel more comfortable with them even though I don’t meet them all the time except for the recent moments with Kyuhyun.

I strolled to the kitchen where I started boiling the water to make my morning cup of tea.

Then I went to the fridge to grab an apple before walking to the balcony. Munching on my red ruby apple, I thought of how similar Kyuhyun and Hyun were.

Even just saying the name, how different is Hyun from Kyuhyun? They were the same person. I was sure of it. Somehow, deep down inside of me, I didn’t want it to be true. He was coming to me in two different identities, making me believe that they were true when one of them isn’t. Or both were not true? I guess his celebrity status got to be true, I mean the fans, the album, and the media; that has got to be true. So Hyun was someone he came up with?

What was his purpose for doing so? Why would he do that? That brings me back to the first time I met Hyun at the blood donation center; where he sang to me for the first time after our short argument.

“Your name is Rae Ah?” Hyun’s turn in starting the conversation.

“You heard the nurse said it just now, didn’t you? Yes it is. My name is Choi Rae Ah.”

He nodded his head slightly, taking in my name.

“Do you sing to people here at the blood donation center often?” I blurted out.

“Nope, you’re the first one, I guess.” He said as he rubbed the back of his neck.

I smiled at the thought. “That’s good. So you have to remember my name because I’m the first person who you sang to at the blood donation center!”

He laughed.

“What’s your name?” I asked.

“Ky-Hyun. Just Hyun.” He said softly, lowering his head.

“Hyun.” I repeated and he looked up to me.

“I’ll remember that name!” I said confidently.

He hesitated when he told me his name, didn’t he? I stopped munching on the apple as I swallowed the lump in my throat. It was true then, Kyuhyun was Hyun. Hyun was Kyuhyun?

“Then, take your time. I’ll try my best.” Kyuhyun said confidently.

Try my best.

I looked up at Hyun, “Try your best? Shouldn’t you promise not to tell anyone since it would be a secret?” I asked with a lifted eyebrow.

“Promises were made to be broken so why should I promise you when I’ll break it sooner or later. So the best phrase is I will try my best.” Hyun replied with a shrug.

They both used the phrase “Try my best”. Who was I kidding? I fell back on the wooden rocking chair I had in my balcony next to my yoga mat as I watched the sunrise.

If Mrs Cho’s son is Cho Kyuhyun that means Hyun’s mother is Mrs Cho as well. And that would be another reason why he goes to the blood donation center, isn’t it?

“You sure she’s gone?” Hyun had asked.

“Yes, she just left.” Another familiar voice, the nurse I supposed answered back.

That was the day Mrs Cho said she had an errand to make and she left after ensuring I was fine at the blood donation center. A short while after Mrs Cho left, Hyun came in. Or should I say, Kyuhyun came in.

The ‘she’ in his question should be referring to Mrs Cho right?

I can’t believe I was so stupid, to believe both Kyuhyun and Hyun even though they are the same person. I was so blind!

My grip on the apple became tighter as I felt the juice of the apple burst a little, flowing slightly onto my hand.

Why would Kyuhyun do that? What were his reasons for doing so?

I continued eating the apple till I was done with it, staring out into the horizon.

Was Kyuhyun going to keep it a secret all the way? Maybe he has his reasons for doing so?

Should I give him a chance to explain? For all I know, maybe it was his twin brother? Though he had never mentioned it to me before? There was a high possibility that it could be his twin brother. Or a sibling or a close relative of his, however if it was a twin brother, Mrs Cho would have told me before.

Mrs Cho only mentioned she had a son, not sons.

Maybe I should ask him. I could sense his sincerity. My thoughts were disturbed when I heard the sound of sliding doors opening.

I looked to the side and see Kyuhyun coming out with his sleeping robe on, stretching his arms to the sky as he bend to the right and left before taking a deep breath and then slouching his shoulders.

He placed his hands on his hips. I watched him as he stood right in front of the barrier of the balcony as he took in the morning air and sigh.

Then I noticed the body structure, Kyuhyun was tall, and so was Hyun. Their height was similar.

Something in me just prayed and hoped that it wasn’t the truth. It wasn’t the truth until I see them both or he tells it to me personally.

Kyuhyun must have felt someone staring at him so he turned around but I was lost in my thoughts as I stared into space.

“Am I that handsome for you to stare at me for so long?” Kyuhyun said.

I shook my head, bringing myself back to reality as my eyes shifted to his.

“I wasn’t-…” I started.

“I was kidding. Good morning beautiful.” Kyuhyun interrupted as he broke into a smile.

I couldn’t help but smile back, memories of the night before floating back into the atmosphere. Seeing Kyuhyun’s smile just made me pushed whatever thoughts I had to the back of my mind and concentrate on the present moment.

“Morning, Kyuhyun.” I breathed as I got up from the rocking chair and walked to the edge of my balcony as Kyuhyun walked to his. We were so close but yet so far.

Holding the apple core in my hand, I stood by the edge as Kyuhyun stood in front of me in his balcony. “Having breakfast already?” He asked.

I looked down at the apple core and nodded my head. “I got yoga today, I’ve to go prepare. I’ll see you around alright?” I said as I quickly made my way back in before Kyuhyun could say anything else.

Maybe my assumptions were wrong? Kyuhyun wouldn’t lie to me in that way, would he?

I just got ready and went to the yoga studio for work.

“Rae Ah~” Kim Mi called as I walked across the corridor of the reception area.

“Yeah?” I replied as I took my towel hanging round my neck and wiped the sweat off my face.

“Flowers.” Kim Mi said it more of a statement rather than telling me. Mixed feelings swarm round me. Were they from the weird random dude from my yoga session or was it from Kyuhyun?

“Who is it from?” I said as I picked up the bouquet of flowers off the table. They were sunflowers and I knew who the sender was immediately; Kyuhyun. A card was peeking out in between the flowers.

To: Rae Ah.

Have a lovely day at work.

P.S: I miss you.

“Cho Kyuhyun is sending you flowers! P.S I miss you? Oh my gosh! Rae Ah! You didn’t tell me you guys are together! I knew something was going on!” Kim Mi’s voice rang out in the reception area as I quickly tried to cover from talking further.

“We just started recently. Like yesterday?” I whispered to her; not wanting any attention.

“Oh my gosh. So you guys are together?! Finally! I knew you two would be such a good match for each other! This is a good sign, Rae Ah.” Kim Mi said as she took my hand in to hers.

“I’m still quite apprehensive about this, Kim Mi.” I told her truthfully.

“Rae Ah, this is good news! You are dating! I’m happy for you.” She said in a more serious tone now, patting my hand.

All I could give her was a meek smile.

I haven’t seen Mrs Cho in a while now, ever since the blood donation center’s promotional event, I haven’t met up with her. I felt a need to meet up with her to talk about my doubts. Maybe she knew about Hyun and she could tell me more about him. Maybe that was a close nephew of hers that looked like Kyuhyun. Some cousins tend to look like each other.

I walked by the café, thinking of getting the secret drink that Hyun always gets for me then I realized I didn’t what it was. The barista seemed to recognize me as he nodded and smile at me when I came in or maybe he does this to all the costumers.

“You are Kyuhyun’s friend!” He said but all I heard was ‘Hyun’s friend”

I nodded and smiled back at him. “He always gets me this particular drink but he didn’t tell me what the drink was so I was wondering if you know what it is because the drink is really good”

“Oh, that drink.” He smirked at me.

“I created that drink for him that’s why it is special to him. I was his classmate in college.” The barista said as he quickly started making the drink.

“You created that drink just for him? Why?” I was curious.

“He’s a musician right? He was always in my café, composing and stuff and I was quite impressed with his passion for music so I came up with this particular drink for him with his favourite flavours.” The barista said while placing the cover over the drink and placing it over the counter for me.

“Here, I know you are special to him too. So this is on the house.” The barista said as he went on to serve other costumers before I could protest.

“Thank you!” I shouted at him before making my way to the blood donation center.

I was trying to find Mrs Cho as I walked along the corridors of the center. I thought she was working today, I saw her name on duty at the front though.

I walked across the main office when I heard voices speaking. The door was adjacent so I could hear everything.

“Kyuhyun has been doing this since when?” A voice spoke, I could recognized that voice; it was Mrs Cho.

“He lied to her from the start, do you remember that day you went on an errand when Rae Ah came? Kyuhyun came by too but in his mask and cap.” Another voice spoke, that voice sounded like the senior nurse.

“He lied to her from the start, do you remember that day you went on an errand when Rae Ah came? Kyuhyun came by too but in his mask and cap.”

Those words rang in my head. Kyuhyun in a mask and cap. Isn’t that Hyun? My heart started to beat faster. This wasn’t what I expected it to be. I continued listening.

“He and Rae Ah started bickering for some stuff and then she was in pain so he sang to her. But instead of telling her, his real name, Kyuhyun told Rae Ah his name was Hyun.”

I froze on the other side of the door. So it was true.

I'm on a writing spree today! Went over to my grandma's and decided to bring along my lappy and I typed out a huge chunk of stuff so I might be having a double update today! Just you wait! Heheehe. Uh oh! Rae Ah found out alreadyyyyyyyyyyy! 

Anyway, I was squealing when I watched the Mnet Asian Music Awards yesterday! Kyuhyun and eyeliner, what more could I ask for? Oh and a Super Junior hardcore camera man who kept on filming them. Kyuhyun was so adorable, wasn't he? Heeee.
