It was the usual and typical teenage house parties.    Music was coming from somewhere in the living room, and the smell of food coming from the kitchen. You were still full from your lunch with the boys, but the food smelt so delicious you couldn’t say no.    It was a little over 8, but it was already a full house. There were teenagers everywhere. In the living room, in the kitchen, some chilled around the staircase; some were coming upstairs from the basement, and some were heading downstairs.    The house was as big as you remembered. Each rooms spacious and painted white. The staircase that led upstairs was long and winding, covered in a white carpet. You could hear laughter that came from outside, and your eyes did a double take at the glass door located in the kitchen. You could see people outside playing... something...    You squinted your eyes only to realize they were playing golf!   Damn, he has his own miniature golf course!?, you thought. The last time you had been here, Daehyun had a massive pool in his backyard with a beautiful mini waterfall and Jacuzzi.    “You sure have a lot of friends,” you commented, suddenly feeling intimidated when you saw a group of gorgeous girls brush past you while giving Daehyun sultry sweet smiles.   Daehyun shrugged nonchalantly. “You know my mother, the social butterfly she is. She wants this to be the biggest party of the century.” He rolled his eyes.    You laughed a bit and then decided that tonight you’ll be spending it in the big, marble kitchen. That will be you refuge for the night. A couple of giggling girls and chuckling guys greeted you. The moment they said their names, it flew right out your ear. You sat down on a stool by the counter while Daehyun casually leaned against it. You reached in your purse and handed Daehyun a red pocket. He had told you he wanted nothing but your presence, but you couldn’t take no as an answer.    “I’m not accepting that,” Daehyun said. He crossed his arms and took a step back. His lips were pressed in a perfectly straight line. His face was so serious that it made you shrink down a bit.   The mask was suddenly broken when he smiled. “Did I scare you?”   You gulped. “A little...”    Daehyun chuckled. He gently pushed your red pocket back to you. Then his eyes turned serious and his voice came out smooth and firm, “I mean it, I don’t want any presents. I just want you... here at my party. You coming already meant the world.”     The sudden proximity of how close his face shocked you and you leaned back, out of reflex. He smiled, and you felt your blood rush to your face. “Um, well, I feel bad for hogging you here. I think you should go entertain everyone else before I get yelled at.” You chuckled nervously and scratched your head.    Daehyun’s lips curled into a smile.    For some reason, he’s been smiling a lot more these days than he did in the years you knew him, you thought to yourself. Maybe because he’s legal now, that’s why. You would’ve been more than happy if you were finally the legal age.    “I guess you’re right,” Daehyun bit his lip, as if he was contemplating on whether or not he should ditch his own party or not. He looked you up and down. “Are you going to be okay, alone?”    You snorted. “Alone? I have food here. Don’t worry.” You wave him away. “Enjoy your party, you deserve it.”    Daehyun’s lips widened even more. He nodded. Before he left, he leaned in to whisper in your ear. “You look pretty hot tonight, you caught me by surprise.” You felt the hum of his chuckle tickle your ears as he pulled away and walked off to entertain the rest of the house guests.   Your eyes blinked fast. You gave your head a tiny shake. *No.* Although Daehyun looked gorgeous tonight in his khakis and casual navy dress shirt with the cuffs rolled which showed off his masculine, toned arms, surprisingly, you weren’t in any way attracted to him.   How you got over Daehyun was a mystery to you, but coming here was a confirmation of your feelings; that the flame you once felt for him had long died out.    At least you can cross him out of your worries now.     While you occupied the kitchen, sitting by yourself and eating all you could, you met a couple of Daehyun’s friends. Some were nice and knew how to carry conversations, while the others were not in the least bit interested. However, they were overall, very nice people.    Especially the guys... who seemed a bit more hands on and touched your shoulders every time they talked to you, making you squirm slightly away and looking away from them.     Boys, don’t they know when a girl is just not interested?   You could smell the distinct scent of alcohol blooming around the rooms. But of course. What were teenage parties without alcohol?    The house was stocked with it tonight. You weren’t planning on drinking it until, Daehyun’s cousin Himchan, insisted that you took a shot for the sake of it being Daehyun’s birthday. Without a choice, you clinked your shot of vodka with him and a couple of Daehyun’s friends.    Your eyes were careful; you had yet to see Yoonjung.    ---   The crunching sounds of chips being eaten was heard over the faint sounds of music bumping loudly from the grand house.    “I can’t help but feel this i
