Twenty Five
Summoning the SupernaturalJun was breathing. That was a good sign. I tried shaking him to get him to wake up, but he remained unresponsive.
"He'll be okay," Grass Guy eventually said. "He just fainted."
My eyes snapped up to the three guys that were still surrounding us. My gaze cut across to Water Guy and I felt something stir in my chest.
"What did you do!?" I stood up, ready to throw hands if I found out he had hurt Jun in any way. He simply raised his hands nonchalantly in a gesture of mocking surrender.
"Relax. He just used up too much energy is all. I'm actually surprised he was able to do as much as he did considering he's unbonded."
"Excuse me?"
"Though my question is, why didn't you bond with him?" Sky Dude stepped around Jun and asked. "Even if you didn't have the chance before, he's out cold now. It's the perfect opportunity for you to snag all his power without him being able to put up a fight."
I threw him a disgusted look. "Ah yes. Clearly you can understand how I get off on control and completely and totally taking over other people's lives by force. My favorite part of it all is getting addicted to the same that enslaves people. I love being subjected to a feeling of insane power that no one should ever have a taste of."
This time around, I didn’t miss the surprised glances they threw at each other. But it only served to piss me off further. Jun was lying on the ground, defenseless or worse, badly hurt. Now was not the time for a ing lesson in ethics.
“Say,” Grass Guy was looking at me with almost a cautious curiosity now, “what did you say your name was?”
Sky Dude came over to Jun’s side but before he got too close, I reached a hand out to stop him. With some interest, I noted how just the threat of my bare skin coming near his was enough to stop him in his tracks. He looked up at me with a small smirk.
“Relax.” Sky Dude placed two fingers against my forearm and gently pushed me out of the way. “I was only going to check if he was alright." He paused. "Unless, of course, you want to do it.” . He knew that hit a nerve.
I don’t know what prompted me
