You know, making a plan and carrying it out were two entirely different matters. Talking to Seungkwan and Seungcheol on the floor of my room was one thing. But facing them plus Mingyu plus Hoshi plus Jeonghan in the same clearing that I met the three of them was a whole other thing. Jun decided to join us in this impromptu training session, though for reasons of extreme exhaustion and fear of making his condition worse, he elected to watch rather than participte. Seokmin was never officially invited, so he was nowhere to be found, and Minghao was puropsefully ignored and avoided so he, too, did not make an appearance.
"So, uh...," I felt so uncomfortable under everyone's gazes. I was never great at public speaking--that was Rose's forte. I was so not cut out for this. "I've already seen a lot of what they can do," I gestured towards Seungcheol and Seungkwan. "So let's see what the three of you got."
I barely finished speaking when smirks appeared on everyone's faces and I just knew that whatever happened next would make me regret ever asking them to show off.
I had about two seconds before the clearing all but exploaded. Two giant wings burst from Jeonghan's back and he jumped. Within seconds, he was 50 feet high and a powerful of his wings only sent him flying higher. While he did that, the sky darkened unnaturally quickly. In the span of about 15 seconds, storm clouds gathered in a previously clear sky and started to pour, thoroughly soaking everyone present--except for Seungkwan who had the foresight to use a forcefield as an umbrella. The moment the first drops started to hit the ground, the air around us exploaded.
