Summoning the Supernatural*Double update*
I definitely overestimated my luck today. All it took was crashing into the lockers by an invisible force for me to lose all hope that my life would ever be boring again.
"What have you done?" An angry Xu Minghao appeared, stopping me from getting to history. I had to hand it to the kid. He found me at just the right moment. I was a little late returning from lunch so the hallway in which we met was completely vacated. It was the first time I was alone that day and I couldn't help but wonder how long he was waiting for this opportunity.
"I don't know what you mean," I spat at him.
My back once again slammed into the lockers, causing me to wince when the combination locks dug into my skin. The all too familiar sensation of not being able to move threatened to overwhelm my senses, but I pushed it down. I refused to give Minghao the satisfaction of getting me to panic.
"Bull," Minghao stated so matter-of-factly, I had to wonder if he would ever believe a word I said, even if had never lied to him before. "Three new bonds all at once? Did you really think I wouldn't notice? What did you do to those people?"
Ah. So that's what this was about. "That's none of your business." The words barely left my mouth when my chest tightened uncomfortably. My jaw and face could still move, but my lungs no longer could. I couldn't breathe again.
This time, I couldn't stop the panic. The more times I lose my ability to intake air, the more I start feeling like I would never be able to get it back. I wasn't an idiot—I know I was just getting lucky. But sooner or later my luck would run out and my lungs would stop working forever.
Just when I was on the verge of blacking out, my lungs spasmed violently and I felt oxygen flowing through them again. I breathed in that sweet, sweet air, only to realize that Minghao wasn't done with me. "That was your first warni
