Eight
Summoning the SupernaturalI spent my Sunday weaving an intricate web of lies to both my school and my mother about how Jun was a Chinese exchange student and he was going to stay in the guest room of our house so that I could help him out with things he didn't understand and show him around. It was tough and annoying to get through everything especially with Jun using every opportunity possible to tell me that no, he did not need to go to school and that he'd find another way to stay close. However, all my bullting paid off when I got to wake a grumbling Jun up early and force him into the car with me on Monday morning. The look of absolute misery on his face almost made it worth it to be awake before noon. Almost.
Thank god for Lisa who, probably trying to get back into my good graces, brought a hot mug of my favorite coffee and a box of blueberries with her to school. She hunted me down as soon as I pulled into the parking lot and handed them to me. I hugged her gratefully and assured her she was forgiven. Truth be told, I had forgiven all of my friends a while back. After seeing that body I understood a little bit more of the life they were apart of and why they kept it a secret. I also knew that, despite not knowing they could perform magic, I still knew almost everything there was to know about their personality. They didn't fake my friendship. But of course, what kind of best friend would I be if I didn't guilt them at least a little? I mean I already gained coffee and blueberries out of it.
I was brought out of my thoughts when Jun left the car slowly, looking every bit like a model in a car commercial. When the people around me (the girls especially) started throwing him looks I knew he was doing it on purpose. I started eating my blueberries before I could strangle the drama queen.
