Twenty Three
Summoning the SupernaturalMy mood had gradually gotten better as the day went on and by the time school was over I was practically begging Jun to come to the park with me.
“C’mon, c’mon, please.” I latched onto the sleeve of Jun’s sweater and forced him to look at the absolutely killer puppy face I was giving him. “This is the last day of good weather we’re going to have for the entire rest of the season. We have to go!” Jun avoided my gaze. “Please! I’d take Lisa, but she has to do a project. You’re the only one that would go with me!”
Once he finally looked at me, it didn’t take long for Jun’s resolve to crumble. And so, no more than 20 minutes later, we found ourselves chilling on a park bench with a beautiful view of the small lake in front of us.
The air was cool and crisp around us, with only a slight breeze. It couldn’t be considered a particularly warm day by any means; but for late November it was a miracle. The park we were at was located just outside my town and stood between us and the closest big city. Whenever the weather so much as hinted at being nice, it became a popular place to hang out for everyone living the suburbs and even some of the city folk. So it was no surprise to see as many people as I did that day. Though even if I couldn't blame anyone for being here, I still hated the noise.
“Hey, come on!” I tugged on Jun’s jacket and urged him to follow me. I headed over to the edge of the park itself and into the forest that surrounded it.
Once, when we were younger, Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and I got curious and decided to try and walk around the whole lake. We never made it. Instead, we followed a small stream that broke off from the lake and flowed out into the forest. Eventually, that small river led us to a clearing not far fro
