Eighteen
Summoning the SupernaturalI didn't waste any time in getting ready to leave. I was still wearing the clothes I brought to school so changing wasn't an issue. The biggest issue was actually getting unhooked from the IV and then somehow getting into my house without mom noticing I was wearing a cast or head bandage. I was so focused on forming a plan that I once again forgot that Seungkwan was still in the room and, despite his phenomenal acting skills, very much awake.
That is until he spoke up. "Could you maybe give me a warning next time?"
I swear a small scream left my mouth. "Don't do that!" I exclaimed, clutching my chest.
"Woah, sorry." He raised his hands up defensively. "But you did kind of just disappear in the middle of a conversation."
I smiled sheepishly at him. "Sorry, it was on my mind and kind of important..." I trailed off and shook my head, only to have it explode in pain. "Ow, . Forgot about the concussion. Anyways, it doesn't matter I shouldn't have done that to you, I'm sorry."
Seungkwan shrugged. "It's cool. And you're right. It was important."
"I—, yeah. Thanks for understanding."
Seungkwan was silent for a little while I shuffled around, desperately trying to make my appearance resemble a corpse even the slightest bit less.
"Did you mean it?"
Something about the way he said it made me stop in my tracks. "Mean what?"
"All of it."
I shrugged. "I mean, yeah. I'm not in the business of forgiveness. You cross me and I'm done with you. Then again, I'm also not in the business of saving the world. But after a run-in with the killer butterflies, I'm forced to reconsider a lot of things."
