At 17 he had become a notorious gangster in his locality. He named himself Kai and renamed SHINEE into EXO. He was now the head of the gang causing havoc everywhere they go.

This carefree life he was leading made him slightly happy. He now had friends, 8 of them and they all liked what he liked, followed everything he said and was not afraid of anything. He liked it a lot, everything- because he felt relief going out of him after making two or three people who led perfect lives cry. He was happy whenever he could reduce someone happy into someone miserable like him.

He hardly go to classes, there was no need since he had learnt it all many years back. But nothing had changed in his cold household. His brother was now working under his father, training himself to inherit everything. His father was still cold and horrible now that there was no mom to subdue his angers.

Whenever his father return home angry and sees him, the first he did was take off his belt and go toward Jongin. It was painful but years of enduring it had made him almost immune to the pain.

His brother was no less miserable. All his brother did was to make him feel small and useless. Any word that came out of his lips came out in the form of a sneer and all this went in molding the Jongin that he was now.

The  next chapter will finally take us to present time narration. :)

Chapter 66: I finished this in one go. And I'm thinking what to comment, actually reading this makes me think hard. About Ari, about Kai and all life stuff. lol. anyway, this hurts knowing if only Kai reached out to her, by then this won't end like this. But then again, its in human nature so I understand Kai. He is selfish to only think of his own problems but he is already drowning in his own demons to see that others are suffering as well. But I'm happy everything turns out well for him in the end. And I also salute Ari, she fight long enough though she decided to give up and rest in the end. She is brave enough to at least help and be there for Kai even if she is also drowning in her own demons.

Thank you for this one and I hope you are okay now. If in any case you need someone just to listen to you and has no one else, you can PM me. Cheers for more great work Ms. Author 💙

Chapter 66: This hurts

But I'm grateful for your final message. Life is precious, no matter how difficult at the time. I didn't end up as Ari but I did have a time like her. It's hard not to drown in our own pain and miss that of others. I feel reminded to see beyond myself.

I hope you (and fellow readers) always take care <3
