You spent a long week with Lady Mina and those other beautiful girls that were much more elegant and fine-looking than you. When you all were directed to sew, you failed horribly and was the last one to finish your flower stitch. Compared to them, you couldn’t brew the perfect tea nor could you kowtow correctly. You and Lady Mina were the least liked by the maids and it began to show among all the girls. However, truth be told, there was a huge performance difference between the two of you. Lady Mina was failing her tasks on purpose while you were failing even when you were trying your best.

The outfits they made you wear bothered you. If the extravagant hair pieces and jewelry didn’t fling into your eyes they were getting stuck in the wrong places; not to mention you had also broken a few bracelets in the midst of fulfilling your duties.

“Today will be the day. Please get in order,” the head maid directed and you sighed of exhaustion.

When you all lined up, you stood as number 3 in the order while Lady Mina stood fourth. Climbing up the stairs was pure punishment especially in that long silver gown that dragged feets behind you. The extra jewelry was extremely heavy on your head; you almost felt like you could fall backwards if you relaxed your back muscles. The makeup on your face felt like a thick paste of sticky rice dough. The only part that you could deal with was the red color that stained your lips. It tasted amazing when you it, almost of some fruit you’ve eaten before. Of course, the maids had to re-apply your lipstick twice as thick because you had the tendency to eat it, unintentionally.

When you reached the hall you lost your breath, not from the hike up the stairs but from realizing that the man who claimed himself as the King was actually sitting on the King’s throne. Jungkook smiled at you in return and you felt your face flush from embarrassment. You forced yourself to keep your eyes glued to the sleep floor below you. Your heart pounded in your chest and you couldn’t fathom why. You really had no true emotions towards Jungkook so that couldn’t be the reason for the rapid beating of your heart.

Jungkook could n
