Friendlier Than Ever
The Curse of the Phoenix BeadsIt was already the 15th day of the lunar month and the first full moon would soon appear. The city was loud and sounds of joy echoed throughout the streets. Kids laughed as they played games while lanterns were being prepared for the night.
“Oh, I see,” You responded back after Jungkook explained to you that the golden flowers could voluntarily remove one’s memory. I will pick some and eat them when I get back so I will never remember him You thought to yourself while the memory of him bathing in the river with you yesterday still burned your cheeks. Truthfully, you really weren’t going to eat the flowers. You didn’t want to forget Jungkook, at least not completely…
The sun was high and hanging in the sky while Jungkook and you sat on the river bank soaking in the rays; both brainstorming and enjoying the cascading waterfall that was enhanced by the rainbow.
“Why do we have to wait until night to get the mushrooms?” You questioned.
“It glows at night, in the day it looks like regular flora,” Jungkook informed you and picked on the grass before him.
“Oh…ok,”
“Why is your pants ripped?” Jungkook asked. You were beginning to worry. He had been talkative all morning and was also friendlier than ever. What had happened to the Jungkook you knew for weeks? Did bathing in the river change him too? How miraculous this water was to change a person in one swim.
And his birthmark, what in the world and why was it even on him? Was it on his forehead too and you were just blind? You glanced at Jungkook’s forehead however there was nothing but clean skin. You were lost in your thoughts until the sound of his voice snapped you out of your whirlwind of questions.
“What’s wrong are you ok?”
