Irene watches you run back and forth around the apartment that the both of you share unamused. She’s already called you to eat lunch three times but you seem so distracted with the new guest in the apartment who’s none other than your two-month-old Domestic Long Hair/Tuxedo Cat mix, Dawn.

   At first she was skeptical about the little mammal since she is afraid of animals after all. However, it was a kitten. Who could ever resist? But it’s been three days since you brought him back and all that you’ve ever been focusing on is him and completely forgetting about your girlfriend in the process. She understands Dawn is still really young and active so he likes to run around and hide in small spaces which was why you had to get pet fences and fence everything out. 

“Babe, are you going to eat lunch or not?!” Irene whines. 

You stop and stare at her. 

“Sorry, I’ve been-”

"Distracted? Yeah, I know.” She grunts.

You chuckle and pull her into a hug.

“I know I haven’t been focusing on you but don’t worry. You’ll always be the top priority for me.” You assure.

”Really? I wouldn’t have noticed since it seems like I have competition at the moment.” Irene deadpans.

”Come on babe he’s cute!” You whine.

”He was a lot cuter when he wasn’t stealing you from me.” Irene answers.  

You giggle and kiss her cheek. 

“ He’s cute but you’re definitely a lot cuter. Besides, how could my son lose to
