You stand there in the gardens accompanying her. Only because she kept bothering you and whining. Yeah, that's what you want to think but you know that's not true. It was obvious that the two of you had a thing for each other even her father, the king knows. But the funny thing is he doesn't stop you from pursuing her. Instead, he encourages it. You think back to when he invited you to have dinner with the family and when they all left to go to the first floor for entertainment the king gives you advice. 

" My daughter, she seems like an independent woman. But people who know her know that she needs someone to love her. " 

" But your highness, why are you telling me this? " You ask 

He chuckles as he looks at you.

" You really think I can't tell from the glint of your eyes? You look at her with so much love that all the other female servants get jealous. " The king remarks. 

Your cheeks are flushed and he grins. 

" Besides, I would choose you as someone I would want my daughter to marry. " The king replies 

You bow slightly. 

" No need to bow, just make sure you take care of her. " He says 

You nod. 

You snap out of your trance when you feel someone chuck a rose at you. 

" Ow! " You grunt when the thorn in the rose cuts your cheek.

" Oh my god! I'm sorry I didn't think it would hit you! " Joy yells as she runs over and examines the cut. 

" How do you not? Have you ever considered how terrible your throwing is? " You remark

Your breathing gets cut short when you feel her lips touch your cheek. She's on the wound. Your ears start turning red. She smirks when she looks up to find your ears red. You scoff and gently push her away.

" It would have been easier if we went to get medicine. " You comment and try to walk away but Joy pulls you back. 

" The medicine's with all the herbs in the kitchen, which happens to be on the other side of the castle. I doubt that you would be willing to walk all the way over there. " Joy grins 

" Oh, and what makes you think I wouldn't? " You remark 

" You wouldn't leave me. " Joy replies 

" Tch... I don't know where you get that egotistic pride from because the king and queen are so humble. " You say 

" Everyone's fallen for me and you know it. " Joy says 

" And what do you want me to do about it? " You answer

" Nothing. Just always stay with me. " She replies 

" Not like I have a choice. " You tease 

" You know you were a lot cuter when you were shy. " Joy answers as she rolls her eyes. 

" Oh, so you tell the female servants that I'm cute?! " You smirk 

Joy's cheeks are flushed as she turns away. 

" Nu-Uh. Park Sooyoung I asked you a question. " You say pulls her back. 

" I don't need to talk about it with them. It seems like they all have a crush on you anyway. " Joy replies as she rolls her eyes.

" Hmm.. all of them? Nana, Soojung, Joohyun & Seulgi? " You ask playfully. 

" And if they do what are you going to do? " Joy asks 

" Hm.. who do you think I should ask out? I think Joohyun's my type. " You tease 

Joy scoffs and pushes you away. You chuckle and run after her and pull her into a back hug and that was where it all began. Pain shot through your entire body and you yell. You fall and coil into fetus position. Joy kneels and checks on you but more pain shoots through you the only thing you remember is Joy shouting your name before you completely black out.

   The King is inside your room with the doctor while the Queen is comforting Joy. She never stopped crying when the other guards carried you into your room. 

" Sir, I think it's time to let this guard go. " The doctor says. 

" Junmyeon, what are you saying? " The King asks 

" Whatever it is that hurt the royal guard it's stopped for now. But I'm certain if they're anywhere near Princess Sooyoung the pain's going to come back. " Junmyeon replies 

" What kind of sorcery is this... they've never been exposed to dark magic. " The King states 

" Whatever it is, it must have followed them back from battle. When was the last time the guards were out? " Junmyeon asks 

" Last week... when that storm came. We sent the guards to help the villagers to safety and serve them food. " The King answers 

" Did anyone die? Guards or villagers? " Junmyeon asks 

" Three guards and two villagers. None were able to find the cause of it so we just assumed it was the storm. " The King replies 

" Someone must be plotting something. Please keep everyone in the kingdom and village safe your highness. We can't bear to lose more people. " Junmyeon says after packing up.

When you wake up you find the King right next to your bed. You were going to sit up but you felt the pain shoot through you again making you fall flat on your back and groan. 

" Easy there child. Don't work too hard. If it's unbearable just remain laying. " The King says. 

You nod. 

" Did Junmyeon find the medication for this? " You ask 

The King sighs and looks at you. 

"Child, Junmyeon wasn't able to find the cure. " The King states
