Reluctant
It Began With a DanceBaekhyun kicked off his shoes and pulled off his earbuds as soon as he walked through the door. With a drop of his backpack he called to Chanyeol, but there was no response. Baekhyn mentlly shrugged as he hung up his coat and stepped into the living room.
Did he fall asleep?
"Chanyeol?" He turned the corner into the kitchen.
"I'm here." Chanyeol stood up from where he was crouched in front of the fridge, a beer in hand.
Baekhyun jumped and stared at him, wide-eyed. "Chanyeol, your hair . . ."
Chanyeol's signature long locks were gone. The hair that covered his forehead was still the same, but where his hair would have been a couple cenitmeters past his shoulders was now shorn short into long layers.
"Yeah, I got my hair cut. I thought it was time for a change. I guess that dream I told you about inspired me a little." He held out the beer for Baekhyun to grab. "So, do you really think that D.O guy is the one you heard singing in the woods?"
Baekhyun took the bottle and nodded. "He sounds exactly like him. I think. Well, I'm pretty sure."
Chanyeol pulled another beer from the fridge and twisted off the cap. "D.O . . . I think he records in a building I sometimes work in. If I knew his real name I could check." He took a swallow of beer. "But I think there is something big going on.
"We were both abandoned when we were little, we both have necklaces and the same book and we both have, forgive the term, powers. If what we read in the book is real, too, then there are ten others like us out there."
"So, this D.O could be one of us?"
Baekhyun opened his beer and took a sip. "I don't know, don't you think that's weird?"
Chanyeol cocked and eyebrow at him. "I play with fire and you're a walking nightlight. I don't think we can play the 'that's weird' card anymore."
"Hmm, true."
Chanyeol took another swig off his beer and set the bottle on the counter. He approached Baekyun and stood close enough that he needed to look down to keep eye contact. "I want to try something tonight."
"Ah, Chanyeol," Baekhyun began to back away. "How many of those did you have?" He pointed at his drink.
"Just one." Chanyeol replied and reached out his hand to caress Baekhyun's cheek.
Then his hand dropped and grabbed ahold of his wrist.
"Wait, wait, waitwaitwait wwwaaaaaaeeeee!" Baekhyun attempted to pull his arm back, but it was a useless effort.
Chanyeol pulled Baekhyun into his bedroom and spun him around before closing the door behind him. Inside was room was dark, save for the light coming from his beroom window. Baekhyun could feel his pulse and his breath against Chanyeol's chest.
"What are you doing?" Baekhyun asked. He looked up to see a silloueete of Chanyeol's face staring down at him.
"I want you to try to make light again. Like you did in the woods that night." He replied.
"I-I can't. I'm sorry, but I really can't."
"Have you tried?"
"No."
"Why
