Remember (Mino)

Collection of WINNER Scenarios

Scenario: See request here!

I hope this is what you had in mind, anon :) Happy reading ~

When your friends suggested ‘this great place we know’, you never imagined that it could be this one.

Out of all places, hundreds that scattered the city of Seoul, they just had to choose this very cafe. Though you couldn’t blame them, the fact that they had no idea how much this place means to you.

It has been two years since you last saw him, two years since the two of you decided to end things. A relationship that lasted for quite a while, years in fact, doesn’t really guarantee your so called happily ever after. As much as you’d hoped, you two weren’t one of those couples that could work the distance out. You tried, you really did. But even when you were here, on the same continent as he was, the both of you had struggled with his hectic lifestyle. It was bearable, since he could just decide to drop by, unannounced, whenever he’d missed you just a little too much or vice versa.

But it’s not so easy when the other is at the opposite end of the globe.

Not much has changed with the cafe, there were tweaks within the interior here and there, but it was still familiar enough to fill you up with nostalgia. Your eyes drifted to those two seats, snug by the corner, and you could almost see yourself sitting there the way you had been on your first, impromptu date with Minho. You remember the way he was fidgeting in his seat, and how he couldn’t stay still, not like that was anything new but he was different, somehow. You thought that it was like any other weekend out with him, until he oh so casually slipped in how he feels for you and that he couldn’t leave for tour without telling you firsthand.

“Some nerve you have, Song Minho.”

“Hm?”

“You’re saying this and you’re leaving for three months? You jerk-”

“I’ll miss you too. I really will.”

You were back in Seoul for the first time, and you didn’t think that it could remind you so much of him. Especially now that you’re gathered here in this cafe, with your girlfriends, who were more than thrilled to have you back. They noticed how you had spaced out from the minute you stepped foot into this place. Not long after you all received your order, a waitress came the second time with another cup, the same one you had ordered.

“We’ve already got this one, I think there’s a mistake.” One of your friends chimes in, a frown on her face. “Or did you order two?” She chuckles, knowing how much you adored that drink.

“No… she’s right, I don’t think that’s ours.” You let out a faint smile. The waitress pointed to a direction,

“Actually, another customer requested to bring this over to you.”

Your eyes followed where she had motioned, to someone who stood by the cashier, paying for his order and apparently, yours too. You couldn’t quite fully see who he was, flustered by the stranger’s random act.

He shifted to the side, coming into view, with coffee in one hand. Only then you realize that he wasn’t just a stranger.

Song Minho.

Your friends must have noticed the drastic change in your expression, eyes wide, mouth agape.

“Do you know him?”

More than that.

“Hey, are you okay? He’s not some stalker right? Do you know him?”

More than anyone else.

“He’s… just.” You barely whisper out, you feel one of them reach out to you, grasping your hands.

All you could think of is how he still remembers your favourite drink, the same one you would always order, the many times you were here, with or without him.

“Morning, sleepy head.”

Minho identifies you as that familiar lump at one side of the bed and he smiles because he’s finally here, finally seeing you. Your figure huddled underneath the covers, one leg sticking out at one end, your ruffled hair at the other.

“You’re adorable, you know that?” He stifles a laugh as he approaches you, who seemed completely unaware that he was here, seeing how you haven’t budged at his greeting.

He peels off the cover to reveal your face, all puffy and exhausted, yet it was still the only thing he’d been wanting to see after so long. Sliding the cup of your favourite coffee under your nose, he sees how your eyes fluttered against your lids, disturbed by the scent he knows you love so much.

“Wake up, hey-” He settles the drink by the bedside, kneeling down, “I missed you.” Poking your cheeks in efforts get some other signs of life.

“Stop…” You groan, arms out to touch his face, gently slapping him away. Grabbing your hands, he kisses your palm again and again. A smile creeps across your face, eyes still shut and he knows how much this tickles you. You retort back, spreading out your hand on his face to pinch his nose.

“Ah!”

He hears you laugh lightly, before propping up to throw your arms around him. “It’s too early and you’re annoying.” You mumble, nuzzling into his neck.

“Fine. I’ll go.” He mutters, shuffling to stand up only to have you cling on him, legs locked around his waist like a koala. Minho had the biggest smile on his face, but he proceeded to walk away into the living room anyway. Arms still by his side, struggling to pretend as if he was upset when all he wanted was to cling onto you as you did to him.

“Stay. Please stay.” Like a mantra of some kind, he stops and gives into you.

How can he not when you say it like that?

You wished he did.

You wished he stayed when you said the same thing, during those arguments you had ever since you left the country. And he’d begged the same way too, but it was something that was uttered just to give hope into a relationship that was hanging by a thread. Eventually, it had to end. It was too much to bear for Minho, surely it was painful for him, but it was hell for him knowing that it was hurting you too. Much more so when he’s the reason behind it.

“Isn’t that Minho?” You hear a gasp from one your friends, and even when you weren’t looking, you could feel their eyes burn into you.

“Hey, you know what, I think we should go-”

“No, it’s okay, really.” You stammer, grabbing hold onto her as she stood up. They knew your history with Minho, but you’d always been secretive about it. So it was understandable to think that you’re still caught up with the past, still hurt, still angry.

You weren’t. Not anymore.

“No no, we should-”

“I should thank him.” They were silent then, staring blatantly at you as you got on your feet. “It’s fine.” You assured them with a smile before walking away.

Your mind was screaming at you, that this was a mistake. You should’ve just kept your down on that seat, and pretended that you had ordered the same thing twice. But you saw him, and he saw you. The least you could do was to thank him, like you would to anyone else who’d buy you a drink. And the fact that he wasn’t just anyone else.

“It is you.” He says as you stop across him. He looks at you the same way he always did, and your heart ached finally seeing him this close, this real.

“Yeah, it is.” You smile at him, and you wonder why this all felt so sad, when it shouldn’t.

“I really thought I was seeing things.” He gives that sheepish smile, a twinkle in his eyes. He had a buzz cut, which was new, something you’ve never seen when you were together. It highlighted his cheekbones when he smiled, but other than that he was… him, just him.

“Thank you- for that.” You say quietly, pointing behind your shoulders. “You still remember what my usual was?”

Of course he remembers, like many other things.

He remembers how you’d wait out for him when he comes home late at night.

“Are you still at the studio?“

“Hm. Don’t stay up, it’s late already.”

“Can’t I come there?”

“I won’t get anything done if you were. Sleep.”

Minho would come home to see you curled up on the sofa, with the TV still on, illuminating the darkened room. He knows you hadn’t slept that long, considering how he’d miss your call a while back when he was driving home. You’ve got your socks still rolled up on the table, something you always have on when you sleep. He walks slowly over to you, and just as he puts your socks on for you,

“Minho- . You scared me.” Startling you awake, he rushes over and you catch him whisper out a soft,

“I’m sorry.”

You didn’t bother checking the time, the TV had on some random show that only airs at late hours of the night, something you’ve grown accustomed to. You see him slip off his jacket, crawling next to you, and you could feel how worn out he was. He nestled just under the curve of your shoulders, and you feel the weight of his legs that wrapped around yours.

“You’re going to get sick at this rate, Minho-ah.” You whisper out as he rubs circles on your back.

“I won’t if I come home to this.”

He remembers how you’re full of surprises.

“Dude, she hasn’t called yet?”

“No.”

“Not even a happy birthday text?”

“No.”

“Not even-”

“For the love of god, enough.”

Seunghoon couldn’t help but rub it in, forcing down a laugh because it was quite an amusing sight to see Minho in a mood the entire day. They were on tour, abroad, and was due on stage in an hour or so. It was Minho’s birthday and had without a doubt, expected a call from you. Only that he didn’t, so he’d lower his hopes down to a text. But none of that either.

Little that he knew, you booked a flight to see their concert. The rest of the boys knew this and had happily kept it from him. Just purely because it was all fun and games to tease Minho relentlessly, on how his long time girlfriend had forgotten his birthday.

“Minho-ah, I think it’s time to consider that maybe she’s bored of-”

“You’re asking for it.”

“Minho-”

“What now?”

“ it up, there’s some fans backstage to see us.”

He really tried his best. And when you saw him gape at you the second you walked in with that cake, the boys couldn’t help but roar out in fits of laughter.

“What are you doing here?” He breathes out, still in utter shock.

“Surprise?” You walk up to him, a smile so wide, he melts at the sight of you.

“No .” He laughs, almost squeezing you still with the cake in hand.

Minho could go on and on when it comes to you, never finding enough time when he does.

“You still remember what my usual was?”

Of course.

How can I forget,

when you gave me so much to remember?
