Chapter 7

“Joohyunah”

“hey!”

“Are you doing something?”

“Nothing much, Siwon oppa’s here for lunch and we’re convincing appa to change the old playroom to my library. Why?”

“Can we talk?”

“We are talking, and why are you being considerate all of a sudden? Most of the time you don’t care if your invading my alone time” she snorted

“……” she heard him sniff

“Yo Yong you okay?”

“Can I come over?”

“uh yeah sure” not really knowing what’s going on

An hour later

“She what?!”

“I accidentally saw her texting someone and when I asked who it was she said her cousin so I let it go, but then she left her phone to go the restroom and curiosity got the best of me since she rarely shows me her phone and I saw that she texted “I love you too babe”, I don't think she ever thought of me snooping around and I supposed we don’t do that to cousin right? And I never received any text like that from her”

She sighed and looked at the sulking face of her friend. She feels really bad for him. Yonghwa is a nice guy and doesn’t deserve that.

“I confronted her and she admitted it and said she was sorry, said the guy was just someone on the side, nothing serious, she said sometimes she’s getting fed up with me since I’m too clingy and possessive, am I like that?

“As much as I would like to answer you I can’t, I have never been your girlfriend in the first place and friend wise, I think your great so sorry I wouldn’t know. Though she hated your attitude or possiveness if she puts it that way, that doesn’t give her the right to hurt you like that, she could’ve just called it quits and walk away”

“I know right? I’m stupid”

“No you’re not you just fell in love and that’s normal. I thought you guys were doing well”

“I thought so too but I guess we were not, we argue but most of the time it’s just petty fights I didn’t know that she was feeling like this already”

“Well when little things pile up it becomes something huge and it might be like that for her but that we will never know, I’m sorry again I can’t offer you much help, hey we’re still young there are still a lot of girls for you out there”

“I really thought she was special”

“Well I bet she is in some ways but if things are meant to be then they are meant to be sadly we just have to wait for it to happen” tapping Yongs shoulder for encouragement

“Thanks J for everything”

“I’m your bestfriend right?” winking at him

The two sat on Joohyuns bedroom floor and stayed there without uttering a word or do anything, just the comfortable feeling of having each other close. She was about to say something when her phone rang, she put it on speaker for Yonghwa to hear also

“Joohyun! Minhyuk and Jungshin are coming over wanna come with us? They’ll shoot some hoops in the clubhouse”

She looked at Yonghwa and he nodded

“Okay Yonghwas here so I’ll bring him along okay?”

“He’s there? Why?”

“uhm nothing just hanging out”

“Great! We’ll meet you there!”

After they hang out they all went to Joohyuns house to cool down. They stayed for the rest of the afternoon and soon Jungshin, Hyo, and Minhyuk went home leaving Yonghwa and Joohyun

“Stay for dinner it’ll be fun” she asked him

“Sure I’ll just call mom” He went to the phone to call home while Joohyun went to the living room where Heechul, Donghae and Siwon were playing a certain video game

She plopped at one of the sofas “Why do boys like gruesome stuff like that?”

They all turned around and looked at her with disbelief faces

“Princess! Don’t you know that this is part of growing up? You should be playing dolls but you chose to read books! That’s boring!” Heechul answered her

“I did play with dolls but they bore me most of the time” popping a handful of chips in

“That’s the thing you’re like this prim and proper girl when nobody raised you to be like that” Donghae then spoke without looking at her

She stuck her tongue out and made faces

“I saw that Seo Joohyun! I got eyes at the back of my head”

“Yeah right!” she scooted a bit to let Yonghwa sit beside her, she handed him the chips which he gladly took and silently watch the three bicker

“So Yonghwa, I heard you’re pretty close with the princess right here?” Siwon abandoned the game and sat at the opposite side of the two. She felt him stiffen for some reason

“Yes sunbae”

Siwon nodded “Just how close?”

“Oppa!” Joohyun threw a pillow at him

“What! I’m just asking!”

“You’re questions weird!”

“What’s weird with that, you two hang out I think like everyday, and your borthers told me you two stick together like glue when he’s girlfriend not around!”

Yonghwa straightened his back “We’re bestfriends sunbae”

“I see, best friends good, so where’s your girlfriend now for you to hang out with your bestfriend?”

Joohyun stood up and stopmed her foot “OPPA!!”

“I am just asking Yonghwa” Siwon looked at her without any expression while the twins snickered

Yonghwa shook his head and smiled “We broke up sunbae”

Siwon smirked “Oh that’s why you’re here”

She had enough of the interrogation. It’s not as if Yonghwa was asking her out or anything, he was just there as a friend who wanted to voice out his grievances over a lost love. She grab Yonghwas arm and pull him up to her room they were on the stairs when they heard

“Be good to her Yonghwa! Or else!”

They fell back into their normal life together, sticking to no end in school and talking endlessly over the phone at home and Joohyun was at her best self again. Time passes quickly when you’re having fun as they say and to her surprised it’s almost the end of the school year and they are on their way to the outskirts for their educational trip. The 4 girls were sitting together on the bus with Eunhyuk in the aisle while the rest of the guys are sitting behind them.

It was chaos to begin with, Jonghyun and Sungmin brought their guitar and were jamming with the other guys while their other classmates were singing along, they officially hired Yonghwa to be their vocalist for that day and have been singing the request from everyone. It was like having your own radio inside the bus. Yoona was busy telling Joohyun about her suitor from the 2nd section until they heard one of their classmate Chaerin
