Chapter 2

Everyone around their table all had their head bent down as if eating but the silence tells her they are all just trying to listen to the conversation. She stood behind Yonghwa and faced Kyuhyun.

“Ms. Park wanted me to give you this, it’s for the essay writing contest and she said she’d like you to join” Kyuhyun handed her a piece of paper, of which she took but still keep staring at his face. One hand has the paper and the other at her back pinching Yonghwas shoulder to keep a straight face. She could hear him writhing in pain “ah” “ouch ouch” then chuckle followed by another awww! Eunhyuk move closer to Yonghwa and tried to swat Joohyuns hand but to no avail

“Thanks for this I’ll read it later” Kyuhyun then bid the group goodbye and took his leave and that’s the only time she let go of Yonghwas arms from her deadly pinch

“AAWWW!” he now had to let it out

“OMG! I am so sorry!!! Did I do that!” As she looked at the red almost purplish bruise on his arms

“No duh! An over obsessed girl did that to him!” Sungmin looked at the bruise

“Put some ice on it, might turn dark purple by tonight”

“I am so sorry Yonghwa I am really!” she half lunged half hug their new friend.

“I’ll make it up to you promise!” as the other flinched from the contact.

Lunch time went by with minimal accident except when they spilled the glass of everthing they ordred for a drink and mixed together in Minhyuks uniform. He had to remove it and walked along the school corridors wearing only his white under shirt, this of course made a lot of female swoon. Little did they know it was the end of their first day of the school year, everyone was waiting for each other so they can all walk to the bus stop or walk home depending on who’s living next to whom. Joohyun most of the time goes home with Jungshin, Minhyuk and Hyoyeon since they live within the same area. Sometimes they go home with her brothers but most of the time they go home alone.

Their crowd all walked together outside the school gates and said their goodbyesl to the others who has their bike with them, they found out that Yonghwa, Sungmin, Eunhyuk all live in the same area so they be walking the opposite direction from Joohyun and the rest

“Joohyun” Yonghwa whispered as they walked behind the others

“Yo!”

“Is it okay if I get your number? You know assignemtns and such”

“Sure thing give me your phone” She began punching in numbers and hit saved as she smiled triumphantly while giving his phone back.

“Just call me there, I put in our homephone and my mobile”

“Cool!” as the group dispersed, happy with their first day.

Joohyun was running to their front porch as she hears their phone ring. She punched in their code and ran as fast as she can to the phone

“Hello” she breathlessly answered while she let all her things fall on the floor including herself

“Joohyun?”

“Who’s this?”

“Yonghwa”

“Wow! You’re fast I just got home”

“Is this a bad time?”

“Nah it’s okay so whats up” She stood as she grab her things taking the cordless phone with her in her room.

“Nothing really, my family is still not home so I’m alone, I thought you already reached home and free to talk”

Joohyun chuckled “I don’t have anyone here as well so fire away!” as she made her way to her closet taking out fresh clothes to wear. She went back to the kitchen and check the pots

“Have you eaten?” yonghwa asked her

“Nope not yet, I’m still surveying what I can eat here that are not rotten or expired” bending down to look at the content of their fridge and finally settling what they had for dinner last night. She ran back to her room and took the food with her.

“Are you done with the assignments?” she asked

“Nope not yet, I’m looking at it now, like to do it together?”

“sure!”

They spent hours on the phone that afternoon, talking about anything that they could think off. She found out that he loves music, he found out that she does too. He promised to teach her guitar and she promised to teach him piano. Yonghwa only has one sibling and is older than him while she explained her family tree. He played a bit for Joohyun that night and only hanged up when it’s time for dinner, after dinner they chat until the wee hours of the night. 

The next day was already the start of formal classes this also means seating arrangement , since their adviser already learned not to sit the 11 together, they were strategically distributed almost away from each other, whether that be one or two seats apart. Joohyun was now seated away from the window, AKA their advisers’ strategy to get her to concentrate more rather than looking out the window every time someone passes by.  She was looking at the her notes from the previous subject when someone sat next to her

“What are you doing?” she looked at her left and found Yonghwa seating next to her

“Why are you here?”
