Chapter 11

“What happened to you?” her friends asked in alarm as she came in running from the streets all sweaty and out of breathe

“Is someone following you?” Kangin asked while looking out the window

“Did someone do something to you?” Leeteuk asked

She shook her head but technically, looking back yes someone did something to her that made her like this.

“Can I have water?” as she tried to catch her breath

Sooyoung ran to the kitchen to get her a glass full

After she finished the water she fell back on the sofa and just stared into space once more

“I swear Joohyun if you don’t speak up I will go to Yonghwa’s house and ask if something happened” Sungmin threatened her. This shook her a bit, they can’t know what happened, no one should, which brings her back to Lizzy and the mere fact that she doesn’t know how long the girl has been standing there or can’t even remember if she shut his door after she came in earlier. Many questions flooded her mind including “What the heck was that?”

“It was nothing, the sun is scorching hot, so I ran!”

“Are you sure coz you were as pale as the paper earlier”

“It’s because I ran ok!Where’s Jungshin by the way? She asked in attempt to change the topic

Yoona emerged from the kitchen “He’s on his way he just texted Jonghyun and wanted everyone to know that he’ll be bringing his girlf friend over”

Thank goodness she thought, a perfect distraction. Everyone fell to whatever they were doing before she came in the next half hour, mostly just lounging and watching TV and talking about useless things, what else can 9 people do on a sunny summer afternoon? She was about to put the glass back to the kitchen when the doorbell rang

“I’ll get it” she shouted

“That must be Jungshin! Come on guys get your off the floor! We’ve got visitor!” Hyoyeon hitting Kangin, Minhyuk and Jonghyun with a pillow.

Joohyun ran down the steps of Eunhyuks house

“Coming!” she shouted but as soon as she opened the gate she almost closed it. There stood Yonghwa smiling at her

“What are you doing here?” she whispered in panic looking around to see if someone is with him

“Because you invited me here and my friends are here also?” he whispered back

“No what are you doing here?” she asked between teeth still whispering

“Why are we whispering?” he then asked looking at her

Her heart started pumping blood again as she saw Jungshin with a petit girl approaching.

“Oh Joohyun! Yonghwa! What are you guys doing here?”

“Well I just got here and I don’t think Joohyun want me here and is asking me weird questions in a weird way” he shrugged

“ we all know Joohyun is weird o this is my girl friend Sunny, Noona these are Joohyun and Yonghwa, my friends” of which the 3 bowed to each other

“Let’s go!” Jungshin ushered everyone inside.

Joohyun stepped aside to let the people in and closed the gate but when she looked up Yonghwa was waiting for her, and was just sitting at the front porch.

This is it she thought. She slowly climbed up the asphalt stairs from the gate to the front porch without raising her head, when she reached him, he tapped the space next to him. She then made her way next to his side and sat

“I broke up with Lizzy”

She could not utter a word not knowing if he was sad or happy or relieved about it. Nothing on his face gives any of that. She leaned forward and covered her face with her hands.

“So what do you think?” Yonghwa looked at her with an amused smile

“What do you want me to say Yong?”

“I don’t know anything”

“I’m sorry!” she then again buried her face in her hands

“Why are you sorry?” he chuckled

“Why are you being weird?! Is it my fault? You just broke up with your girlfriend and yet here you are smiling about it, I don’t get you Jung Yonghwa!” she felt really guilty especially if they broke up because Lizzy saw them earlier

“Okay well, during the month that you’re gone, Lizzy got tired of me complaining about you being gone and about you nor replying to my messages so she broke up with me, we broke up 2 weeks ago”

“Why are you saying this to me now?” she replied without looking at him

“Because we never got to talk about it earlier and I just thought that you might think that what happened earlier is the reason we broke up” he explained

“I don’t know Yonghwa” she sat up straight still avoiding his eyes, atleast she wasn’t the reason, well in a way she still is, but relieved that it wasn't because of the "Kiss" earlier, and if they broke up means his single.

“I’m sorry about earlier Joohyun, It’s my fault, I don’t know what came to me but I just know I’m happy you’re back, maybe I’m too happy I don’t know, I won’t even give you a lame excuse, you’re my best friend and that was wrong and I’m sorry”

Ok now that hurts she thought, now that she thinks about it, it’s all she ever wanted, the way he looked at her earlier, it’s what she has been dreaming off, it feels so right for her in all accounts especially now knowing that he’s not with anyone, what’s so wrong about that? She wanted to counter his statement but decided otherwise as it will bring about the opening of the pandoras box.

“Let’s just forget it, I don’t know what to think and I don’t know what to say, apparently it happened and it’s done, let’s just keep it to ourselves and move on” she laughed sarcastically to hide the excruciating pain she’s feeling. For the first time everything fell to their right place just to be told it’s wrong but she can’t blame him, what does he know?

He smiled at her showing his toothy grin and put his arms on her shoulder

“Still great
