“There are a number of you who owes me a great deal of explanation “shooting a deadly glare at Jungshin

“It was only my 2nd week away at that time when you all decided to spill the beans!” she looked around

“What is this? Some cheap talk show?” Jungshin exclaimed knowing too well where Joohyun wants the discussion to head

“Shut up! You’re one of those who owe me!”

“Okay interrogation later what did you get for us?” Kangin looking like a kid who’s about to open his present

“What do you expect? I’m only a kid I don’t have money, I just got you guys T-shirts and keychains and magnets from Disneyland! Then some chocolates and snacks for us to munch on today”

“Whoot whoot!” Sooyoung cheered as Joohyun took out plastic bags from her closet and began handing each one to her friends who are all cramped up in her room. She can see from the side of her eyes how Jonghyun and Yoona are sitting beside each other whispering and smiling to know end.

“Yah! You two! Don’t go all lovey dovey in front of us! It’s still weird for me”

Yoona stuck her tongue out and grab Jonghyuns arms hugging it and closing her eyes as if enjoying that very moment of Joohyuns annoyance.

she rolled her eyes at the sight “Why did I even bother!” 

“Okay why are we missing one guy here?” Hyoyeon asked 

“Who’s guy?” Joohyun asked

“You know who’s guy we’re talking about” Sungmin nonchalantly blurted out without even looking at anyone except the bag of chips

“Oh, him… I haven’t told him that I’m back, but I will maybe next week” she spoke with an unreadable face without really looking anyone 

“Joohyun, we like Yonghwa we really do, he’s cool and is a nice friend, we just don’t like how he treats you that’s all, he was okay in the beginning but I don’t know what changed in between that it sorta made you a friend for convenience.” Eunhyuk looked at her

then Sooyoung added “if only he didn’t change or maybe eventually he felt so familiar with you that’s why”

Joohyun just shrugged her shoulders, even she doesn’t know what happened but a part of her is really glad they won’t be classmates the next school year. Her sophomore year was one heavy year, not what she had hoped it would be.  Hyoyeon was right, liking Kyuhyun versus falling for Yonghwa are two completely uneven battle ground. Her chance of winning the battle with Kyuhyun was 50-50 while it’s a lost case for Yonghwa from the start.

A couple of days later, she found herself gathering all her wits to ring their door bell, she held on to the shopping bags as if her life depended on it, knuckles turning white. She decided to just drop by Yonghwas place since they were hanging out at Eunhyuks house that afternoon so it’s hitting two birds with one stone.

“Hello eomma!”

“Joohyun! How are you child?” lunging forward to give the girl a tight hug

“’I’m okay”

“Come in! When did you arrive? Your best friend has been taking your absence to heart you know?” Mrs. Jung looked at her solemnly

“He’s got Lizzy to entertain him I bet he was just bored during those times she wasn’t around and no one to pester”

His mother smiled “hmm, could be, he’s in his room go surprise him”

Joohyun bowed after handing his mom some of the things she bought for their family. She lightly knocked on his door and when there was no response, she slowly opened it just to see a sleeping Yonghwa. She smiled and shook her head at the messy room and thought the boy really has nothing to do, it’s afternoon and he should be playing somewhere but here he is sleeping. She walked quietly and set the bags down on an empty chair and began to carefully walk around to pick up his things. She folded some shirts that were lying on the floor and once she was satisfied a bit on how the room looks, she inched forward and gently sat at the edge of his bed. She leaned in closer to look at his sleeping face, this is the first time she’s able to look at him upclose without having to turn away.

Pointed nose, thin lips, long eyelashes, he’s handsome just by sleeping what more when he’s awake and he shows her his cheeky smile with those expressive dark brown eyes. She took a deep breath and smiled sadly and tapped his cheek to say goodbye. She was about to stand up when Yonghwa caught her arms

“Where are you going? When did you arrive? Why didn’t you contact me? Why didn’t you answer my messages?”

She looked at him in shock thinking how long he has been awake and remembering how close her face was to him and how she was just staring at him.

“I- I arrived 4 days ago?” seemingly not sure of her answer all of a sudden

“Why did you just showed up now?” he looked at her with creased brow but still holding her arms tight.

“I had to unpacked and we cleaned the house a bit since we were gone for a month and besides I know you’re busy so I don’t want to bother”

“But you bothered today, why?

She looked down feeling guilty “because we’re hanging out at Eunhyuks so I decided to drop by with your gifts from the trip”

“So the only reason you came here is because you guys are hanging out at Eunhyuks place, and if not you still won’t let me know you’re here? Are you that mad Joohyun?” he sat on his bed without letting her go

“I am not! Where did you get that Idea?”

“I don’t know maybe because I didn’t get to say goodbye to you” now his turn to look down

She pulled her hand off of his grip

“Don’t be silly, I just drop your gifts, go back to sleep, why are you even sleeping at this time, did you sleep late last night?”

“No, I got nothing to do and got bored after playing PS4”

She snorted “ And where is your girlfriend in the midst of your boredom?”

He smirked “ha! I don’t know”

She looked out of his windows “Figures, well” she stood up and got the shopping bag

“These are all for you and this is for Jessica unnie, please give her that” she was explaining when she noticed that he was just staring at her face
