HERSHE (TIAOM)

Pie went out to dry herself in front of the mirror, eventually noticing the reflection of a room behind. It is the same room with pictures before. Pie went in and the lights; getting surprised because even though nothing has changed in Kim's apartment, a lot has changed in this room.

All the pictures have been rearranged. There are also additional pictures from Kim's Pattaya and Bali trip. But above all that, what really caught Pie’s attention is the new picture frame in the center. It wasn't Nam's anymore. Nam's frame has been placed on the side. This time the picture is of a woman — although not looking at the camera — that has a heart-melting smile drawn on her face. The shot was taken in a beach-like background.

"Pie?"

Pie turned around and saw Kim already peeking from the door.

"Oh, um..." Kim lightly scratched her eyebrow, somewhat embarrassed at what Pie had seen. "The, uh, food is ready..."

"What's this, Kim?"

"Uhm, a picture... of you...?"

"And why do you have a picture of me hanging in here?"

Getting more embarrassed at the situation, Kim hugged Pie from behind around her waist and kissed the side of her head. "Uhm, well, don't I have the right to put my girlfriend's picture in my room?"

Pie smiled as she looks back at her picture. "Since when was this displayed here?"

"Right after the Pattaya trip."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah. I can't resist putting that picture there. Your smile is so charming and radiant. It is a perfect shot."

Pie turned to look at her picture again, holding Kim's face with her hand.

"I always love seeing your sweet smile, Pie. Always."

"And you always give me another reason to fall for you even more, huh?" said Pie, turning to Kim.

"Of course. Making you fall out of love is the last thing I have in mind now. I just hope there won't be a need for me to change that picture again anymore."

Pie held Kim's face with both her hands and looked at her sweetly. "Don't worry, you won't."

---

After dinner (which was not boiled eggs by the way), the couple settled on the couch to watch a romantic comedy film. Pie is sitting upright with Kim's head comfortably resting on her lap. She is getting carried away with the movie, not noticing that Kim has already dozed off. She wouldn't have found out until she asked a question that the latter didn't respond to.

"Kim!"

Kim woke up after Pie jiggled her. "W-what?"

"Are you seriously going to sleep on me?"

"No, I'm not, I just —" Kim got up after she noticed Pie is already pouting. "Oh, I'm sorry. I was too tired, plus your hand on my head is very relaxing."

"Hmp. If I'd known you're just going to sleep early I should've gone home instead."

Kim wrapped an arm around Pie. "No. I'm not going to sleep yet. We're going to stay up late watching movies, right?"

"Hmp. Admit it. You just don't like the movie I picked."

Kim couldn't answer. She’s never a fan of chick flicks. But since Pie was too excited to watch it earlier, Kim agreed right away. She just didn't think that she'll get bored with it, and worse it put her to sleep.

"I-it's not that I don't like it," Kim reasoned out, "I was having a terrible headache earlier. I guess I felt relieved after you massaged my head."

Pie twitched in annoyance but gave in eventually. "Are you feeling okay now?" she asked, bringing the back of her hand on Kim's forehead.

"Yeah, the power nap did the trick, and of course your massage."

"Oh, that's a relief." Pie dropped her hand, making her big shirt getting pulled down low on one side, exposing her bare shoulder and collarbone.

"Ooh, y, huh..." said Kim.

"y what?"

"What's this?" Kim leaned over to kiss the exposed shoulder. "Trying to seduce me?"

"." Pie rolled her eyes. She pulled her shirt back up and fixed it so it wouldn't fall. "Why would I seduce you?"

"I don't know. You always had a y and evil plan towards me, right?"

Pie scoffed at the allegation. "You're the one who gave this shirt, remember? You're the one with an evil plan here."

"And what's that plan, hmm?" Kim pulled Pie closer and whispered in her ear, "Like woo-hoo?"

"Woo-hoo your face," Pie deadpanned, slapping Kim. "You don't even know how to kiss yet and you're thinking of woo-hoo already? Gosh, Kim, gosh."

Kim laughed. "Did you seriously think I'd want to do that now?"

"Well, you looked like a psychopath maniac just a while ago."

Kim laughed again, louder this time. Then she wrapped her arms tightly around her girlfriend. "Those things could wait. Believe me or not but holding you close like this is enough for me now."

Pie pulled back to give a sweet contented smile. She reached up and kissed the tip of Kim's nose. "Me too."

"Could you tell me why you keep on kissing me but you keep on avoiding my lips?" asked Kim, narrowing her eyes.

Pie just flashed out a coy smile as an answer and hid her face in the warm crook of Kim's neck.

They turned their attention back to the movie. Kim still finds the scene uninteresting because the lead characters were just exchanging corny lines with each other. But just when she thought it wouldn't get any better, just when she thought she had completely lost interest, her eyes were suddenly glued to the film after the male lead grabbed his girl by the waist and kissed her tenderly. The kiss eventually became passionate as the characters continued to make out under the full moon.

Kim's throat dried up. This is the first time she felt uneasy watching a kissing scene. It's not because it's a bad kiss or what, but it is because she felt her girlfriend's body stiffened against hers.

As if on cue, they both look at each other at the same time, making them feel totally awkward.

Truth is Kim’s been thinking of kissing Pie the moment they got together. She's not just pushing it because Pie might not be ready for it yet, and she wants to take things slow for now. Although the other things could wait to happen sometime in the future, but yeah, the thought of kissing those voluptuous lips had never left Kim's imagination since day one.

When she couldn't take it anymore, Kim decided to stand up. She needs to fight the urge for now because she doesn't want to force Pie into it.

"Um... uh... I uh... I'm gonna get us some snacks. What would you like me to get you?"

"Hmm... I'd prefer gummy bears if you have..."

"Alright. Be back in a while."

"Kim?"

"Yes?"

"Could you... turn off the lights when you get back?"

Kim's mouth fell open. She stood frozen at her spot, suddenly being paralyzed by the jolts that run through her spine.

D-did she just give me the green light?

Kim started fidgeting and feeling nervous about it. It may be not that obvious because she's being cocky all the time but she is as equally as inexperienced as Pie about these type of things. She started getting worried if she could even do it properly.

"Uh, yeah, sure," Kim confirmed. She walked out of the area and gritted her teeth.

Kim head straight to the fridge without knowing what exactly she needs to get. She took out a pitcher, quickly filled a glass full and drank it straight to the bottom.

She placed both hands on the counter and leaned the top half of her body over, staring at Pie who's still busy watching the movie.

She's giving me signs, right? She never said she didn't want to kiss, she just said she's afraid she might be bad at it.

Kim clenched her fists thinking if tonight should be the night.

Damn. I shouldn't screw this one!

Kim went back with some snacks and sweets in a bowl, making sure to turn off the lights before sitting beside her girlfriend. Pie leaned her tiny frame against Kim and puts her head on the latter's shoulder.

"How are you feeling?" asked Kim, feeding Pie a gummy bear.

Pie wrapped her arms around Kim's waist, still occupied with the movie. "Just fine."

It was dark all over the place. Kim stared at Pie noticing how her skin color is changing each time the camera angle shifts in the movie. She's no longer in the mood to watch. Seeing Pie getting amused is a far better view compared to the movie itself.

Kim is starting to feel lightheaded. She's not sure if it's because of the romantic ambiance that hangs around the room or if it's because of the calming sound of the rain outside. What's clear to her now is she's already bombarded with the thought that this is the perfect moment for them to kiss.

Kim leaned down to plant a kiss on Pie's head, making the latter look up to her to give a quick sweet smile and look back to the movie after.

"I love you," Kim whispered, hoping that it was heard.

Pie looked back to her. "I love you too."

"No, I'm seriously in love with you..." said Kim, putting down the bowl on the table.

A confused chuckle escaped Pie's throat upon noticing Kim's odd mood. “Are you alright?"

"Mmm-mmm. Come here, check this out," said Kim, guiding Pie's head over her heart.

Pie's eyes widened after she felt Kim's shallow breath and fast heartbeat through her shirt. "Kim, what's wrong?"

"It's nothing, don't worry..."

"No, you're not fine." Pie brought a hand to touch Kim's forehead. "My gosh, Kim, you're cold!"

Kim caged Pie's hands in between hers. "Hey, don't worry. I'm fine, I really am..."

"Are you sure?"

"Y-yeah, I'm just... just nervous..."

"N-nervous? W-why?"

"Um... because..."

Instead of finishing her sentence, Kim reached up to touch the smooth skin of Pie's temple, letting her hand slide down to the cheek. The light illuminating from the TV helped her see Pie's face amidst the darkness.

Slowly, so damn slowly, Kim leaned towards Pie in hesitation, making sure it was okay to kiss her. She moved gradually until she could feel Pie's breath lightly on her face. Kim's whole body is shivering and her breath is shaking. She knows she needs to do this now otherwise she'll surely regret it for not even trying.

As if the stars were all conspiring to make it happen tonight, Pie gave the most sensuous response by closing her eyes in assent.

That's when Kim felt like her heart is going to explode. She closed her eyes and readied herself for what's going to happen next.

It's too late to turn back.

Kim let her feelings took over as she finally closed the gap between their lips.

... ... ...

... ... ... ...

... ... ... ... ...

Aside from the sound of the rainfall echoing outside and the dialogue in the movie, the silence continued to drift between them. Nobody moved. Both were trapped in a state where everything is wonderful and dreamy.

Kim felt a tingling sensation all over her body. Her mind ceased functioning for a time being. It's one of the purest moments she had experienced in her entire life.

Pie's lips were velvet smooth; it felt soft and squishy, wet and warm. Kim never knew that it's possible for someone to feel lost and complete at the same time.

When she finally filled herself with Pie's fragrance and softness, Kim slowly pulled back, enough to part their lips and gaze upon her girlfriend. But before Kim could even take a full breath in, Pie drag her head back in a swift to press their lips again. This time it wasn't simple. It was a full, committed kiss; no hesitation, no reservation. It was slow and gentle. There is tenderness as their lips are being pressed together time after time.

Kim doesn't know how they're doing it but she knows they're doing it right. They started to have their own rhythm as they kept squeezing each other's lips. She felt so much closer to Pie because of it.

They slowly pulled away after a minute and leaned against each other's forehead. Pie's hands were still holding Kim's face; their eyes are aligned but both looking down. There was silence while the two were feeling slight awkwardness.

"Did I do it right?" asked Pie, concerned.

"I... I think you were amazing," said Kim, pulling back to look at her girlfriend.

"I think it's addictive," said Pie, leaning forward for a quick peck on the lips.

"Really? I was thinking that you're not ready for this yet. If I had known I should've done this earlier."

Pie pinched Kim's nose. "It's because you're slow."

"Who's slow, huh?" said Kim, squeezing Pie's ribcage, making the latter squeal 'you'. "What did you say, huh? What did you say?"

"Stop! Stop!" Pie's combined laughter and screams echoed in the room. She grabbed Kim's hands and wrapped it around her waist to save herself from more tickling. "In case you've forgotten, this wouldn't happen if I hadn't wake you up."

"I wasn't sleeping, okay? I just dozed off for a while."

"Hmp. I practically gift-wrapped myself to you and you were just planning to sleep on me? Ugh."

Kim raised an eyebrow at the newfound information. "Wow. So, you really planned this?"

"Not really planned, but yeah, I'll be sure to be mad at you if you won't kiss me tonight."

"Haha! You should have told me that directly."

"And why would I do that? Shouldn't you be the one who’ll make the first move?" Pie scowled, rolling her eyes. "I am still the woman in this relationship, remember?"

"Of course, I know that, princess," said Kim, pulling Pie for another kiss. It's more relaxed more natural this time.

"Why are you smiling?" asked Pie in between their kisses.

Kim pulled back a little. "It's because your lips are sweet..."

"Stop the sweet-talking, Kim."

"No, I'm serious. Your lips are literally sweet. It's like uhm..."

"Like...?"

"Uh... cherry?" said Kim said, not even sure of herself. She glanced at the bowl on the table. "Is it because of the gummy bears?"

Pie laughed. "Cherry? Oh gosh. No, it's not the gummy bears, honey..."

"Then what is it?"

"Remember our project before, the cherry-flavored edible lipstick?"

Kim's jaw dropped.

"I bought one before we went to Pattaya, remember? I'm still using that until now."

Kim brought a hand to her face in amazement. "Wow. Just wow."

"Hmm-mmm. So, I guess it really does taste like cherry, huh? You like it?"

"Are you kidding? Like is hardly the word for it," said Kim, leaning over and pausing halfway to smile, "it just makes me crave for more."

---

The soothing sound of the steady rain outside is calming Kim into a deep, relaxing slumber. She knew it is morning but there's no way she's going out of bed early. She felt Pie curled up beside her, back pressed against her chest, her head comfortably resting on Kim's arm. Kim spooned her closer by tenderly covering Pie's waist with her other arm. She rested her chin against the top of her girlfriend's head and smiled as the rhythm of the rainfall lulled her back to sleep.

---

Ring... ring... ring...

Kim doesn't know whose phone is ringing but she knows it's definitely not hers. She didn't mind it knowing that it'll stop soon. She's not even sure if it's real or if she's just dreaming until she felt a weight was lifted from her body. Pie sat up in bed to answer the phone, leaving Kim feeling a little cold now.

"Hello? Ah, yes..."

Kim felt Pie stood up to walk out of the room. Kim forcibly opened her eyes just to get a glimpse of Pie's back with her blouse pulled down again on one side, exposing her shoulder. Kim smiled at the view but is immediately sent back to dreamland.

Kim doesn't know how long the call took. After some time, she felt a movement on Pie's side of the bed. And then out of nowhere a body landed on top of her.

"Wake up, wake up, wake up..."

Kim felt her world shaking as Pie wiggles her head. "Ummm..."

"Honey, wake up now," said Pie again, giving a quick cheek kiss.

"Uh... why is the baby up so early...?" Kim grunted, bringing her arms around Pie's waist.

"It's not early anymore; it's already nine in the morning, honey."

"But I'm still sleepy..."

"Get up now and take a shower, we're going out."

Kim is too sleepy to even think of doing something now. "I will if you're gonna take a shower with me..."

Pie smiled broadly as her palm playfully landed on Kim's cheek. "."

Kim laughed at that, decreasing her sleepiness a bit. "It's too early to go out, baby. Can we just do it by lunch? I still want to sleep..."

"It can't wait. You need to dress up now because we need to go somewhere."

Kim's creased her brows. "Where?"

"My mom called. She said she'll cook lunch for us. She wants to meet you today."

"What!"

And she is sleepy no more.

Chapter 24: Ok, am gonna give my thoughts about this chapter between Nam and Kim talk. I am so amazed of how you delivered the moment. I can feel the intensity, the pain, how it's very close to reality. But usually what happens in real life, if this very strong feeling present between two people who happens to be so in love and suddenly cut ties have conversation like this after seeing each other again even if they both in-relationship,all emotions coming back I don't think they'll still end breaking up or separating. Instead, they might sort it out, they won't let go of each other and just find a way to be together again. Argh you know what I mean? Omg. I'm so into this. Maybe because I have my share of experience? But instead of me being Nam, I'm actually the Pie here. Hope I delivered my thoughts well? ???
