Chapter 33
Best mom ever
Amber sighed. She was packing her bags. Her dad got a job offer in Japan and in her own words: ‘You’d be stupid if you reject it’. She regrets saying those words to her dad, even though she knows they’re true.
When she was done, she went to the living room where her dad was labeling boxes.
“Do I really have to go?” She asked, placing her bags next to the couch. Her dad looked at her and opened his arms. She hugged him.
“Honey, I promised your mom that I would always take care of you. What would she say if I just leave you here by yourself?” He asked, rubbing her back.
“But ___’s here… I can’t leave her.” She said sadly.
“I’m sorry, honey.” He said, kissing her head.
“Can I go spend the day with her? I haven’t told her yet…” Amber said, looking up at her dad.
“Of course, come back before dinner.”
When Amber got to the hospital, you were having breakfast with Taeyeon. Amber stood at the door, watching you both.
“I miss your food.” You told Taeyeon who smiled.
“Get better fast then so you can have it.” She said, pinching your cheek. You smiled sadly.
“I’m trying…” You said, quietly.
“I know baby, I’m sorry.” Taeyeon said, side hugging you. You snuggled to her.
“You meanie mom, making me feel sad.” You said, poking her side. She gasped.
“I would never do that.” She said, tickling you.
You both started laughing. Taeyeon stopped when she noticed Amber was there.
“Amber, how long have you been there?” Taeyeon asked, sitting back on her chair beside your bed.
“I just got here.” Amber said, sadly. You noticed. She sat down beside you and wrapped her arm around your shoulders. You kissed her cheek.
Taeyeon’s phone beeped.
“Yoona wants to see me in the cafeteria.” She said, standing up.
“I think she wants to ask you out on a date.” You said, grinning.
“I hope so.” Taeyeon said, fixing her hair. You both laughed. “I’ll be back soon.” She said and you both nodded.
You turned to look at Amber and poked her cheek. She smiled and faced you.
“I can see you.” You said, grinning.
“I can see you too.” She said, pecking your lips. You frowned.
“I know, but you could see me before too and I couldn’t.” You said, crossing your arms. Sh
