It has been a week.

 

 

Irene has been recovering well except for her eyes.

 

At least she can walk now.

 

 

Still, the protective Wendy would not let her cabbage to run around like that.

 

 

Today, she is smuggling her favorite food.

 

 

She pauses at the door when she sees her girlfriend quietly sitting on her bed, feeling the breeze from the open window with her eyes closed.

 

 

Beautiful as always. 

 

 

“Irene.” She walks up and whispers while caressing her cabbage’s face.

 

“What took you so long ?” 

 

“It’s lunch hour.” 

 

“I think I smell my favorite food.” Irene cutely sniffs.

 

“I risk my life getting it here.” Wendy opens up the paper bag grinning.

 

 

 

“Wendy-ah.” Irene mumbles as she is chewing on her chicken.

 

“Nae ?”

 

“It’s about time, isn’t it ?” She puts down the bone and tilts her head.

 

“I can postpone that.” Her Olaf takes her cabbage’s oily hands.

 

 

“You have done enough for me, Shon Seunghwan. It’s time to think about yourself.” Irene frowns.

 

“How could I leave you again and again ? And I should stay at times like this.” Wendy chokes a bit. 

 

“Just leave and I’ll be fine. If you made it this time, our road ahead would be cleared.”

 

“Remember, you’re always here.” Wendy takes Irene’s hand and places it on the left side of her chest.

 

 

“Oh, my hands are dirty.” Irene takes her hand back.

 

“You totally ruined that moment.” Wendy pouts. “And I love you.”

 

“I love you more.” Irene giggles.

 

 

 

 

When Wendy is heading outside for the washroom, she bumps into a guy she doesn’t wanna see on her way back.

 

She wants to ignore him but he taps her shoulder.

 

 

 

“You’re Wendy, right ? I am D.O, Do Kyungsoo.” His voice is like a cup of hot chocolate in a cold winter day.

 

“Hi.” The girl forces a smile.

 

“Can I borrow you for a minute ?” His big eyes look sincere.

 

“I thought you’re here for Irene.”

 

“Can I ?” He insists.

 

“Let’s go to the park, it’s more quiet there.” 

 

 

 

Wendy sits next to D.O on the bench, rather awkwardly.

 

D.O probably senses that so he speaks up.

 

 

 

“I wanna talk to you about Irene.”

 

“Yes ?” Wendy takes a brief glance at the boy.

 

“I know you may not want to see my face but I really need this talk.” 

 

“Go on.”

 

 

“You know about the scandal. It might be fake, yet I’ve really developed a feeling for Irene. Then she told me she is in love with someone else already. It’s you. Now I see why she loves you so much.” D.O smiles to himself.

 

 

Wendy leans her back on the bench, eyes on her fingers, not saying a word.

 

 

“After I heard the news, I wanted to see her. However, I guess there’ll be someone taking care of her. So I waited for so long and came ’til now. And I think I should come clean to you.” D.O continues.

 

“Thanks for being so considerate.” Wendy turns to the boy. 

 

“She doesn’t know that I like her. Maybe it’s better if we keep it that way.”

 

“It’s up to you.”

 

“I don’t know whether she would still be my friend after she knows.”

 

“You’re a good guy, Kyungsoo-xi.”

 

“And I don’t know whether I would stay by her side after all these if I were you. You must love her very much.”

 

 

“It’s not only because I love her, she loves me too.” Wendy flashes her signature bright smile. “So do you wanna see Irene now ?”

 

“No…. I still have schedule later. I just wanted to know if she is doing fine.” 

 

 

Wendy stares at the boy and chuckles.

 

 

“Kyungsoo-xi, can you promise me one thing ?”

 

“Yes ? Anything within my capability.” 

 

 

 

“Do you know how much I love you ?

Whenever I see you, I can’t hold my tears from falling.

I couldn’t look you in the eye, 

And had to turn away from you.

Do you know ?”

 

 

 

The Stargazed debuts in the States soon after.

 

It is phenomenal.

 

Everyone is addicted.

 

 

She speaks to people’s hearts.

 

 

 

That’s when Wendy suddenly vanishes.

 

 

Taeyeon and Seulgi thought she gave up but they know they were wrong after hearing the debut thingy.

 

Even if Irene hasn’t said a word about that.

 

 

 

 

“Where’s Wendy ?” Irene’s mom asks worriedly as she doesn’t see the girl for days.

 

“She is in the States.” Irene calmly answers.

 

“What ? She left ?” Irene’s dad literally shouts. “How could she …… ”

 

 

“She had to debut.”

 

“I don’t understand.” The woman replies.

 

“She has just debuted in the States. She is The Stargazed.”

 

“Oh my god. I am too old for this.” Irene’s mom massages her temple.

 

 

“So why’s Kyungsoo always here ?” The father is completely lost. “I thought…… ”

 

“I guess he promises to Wendy that he’ll take care of me when she’s not around.” Irene shrugs.

 

 

 

 

Kyungsoo does come to visit quite often.

 

The clever Irene has already figured everything out.

 

 

 

He is extremely gentle and kind.

 

He has helped Irene with adopting the life without vision.

 

He always spends his leisure time to accompany the girl.

 

 

Irene has once wondered — would she be with him instead if she’d never met Wendy ?

 

 

 

On the other hand, she is patiently waiting for her girlfriend to come back.

 

She listens to the radio everyday.

 

So she could hear her loving voice again.

 

 

She is happy to know The Stargazed is now a hit.

 

 

People not knowing everything might feel pity for her.

 

Her faith had once shaken a bit and Wendy called her in time.

 

 

She said she would come back soon after she reveals her true identity.

 

She said she just has to wait a little more.

 

A little more.

 

 

 

 

“Kyungsoo.” Irene calls out while the boy is peeling an apple for her.

 

“Hm ?”

 

 

“Why are you always here ?” She carefully chooses her words.

 

“I heard it could have been my sasaeng fans.” Kyungsoo replies without looking up.

 

“It’s not your fault anyway. I don’t blamed anyone.”

 

“I …… I still think I should do something. And you’re my friend, right ?” 

 

“You’re nice, Kyungsoo. Too nice.” 

 

“Let me be.”

 

 

 

“Do you know how long I have been waiting for you ?

Hiding at the corner of the street where you pass by. 

I always wander around, 

Just to see your back from a distance.

If you ask me why didn’t I just tell you so, 

I could not answer ‘cause it breaks my heart.

“Do you know who is The Stargazed ?” Irene strikes again, nonchalantly.

 

“Argh……  No ?” Kyungsoo is a terrible liar.

 

“Wendy.” Irene states the obvious answer.

 

“Oh, really ? That’s very……. unexpected.” 

 

 

 

“Don’t lie to me. Do you like me ?” 

 

 

 

Kyungsoo sighs.

 

Irene sees him through.

 

 

 

“Won’t it be too painful for you ?” 

 

“No. I promised Wendy.”

 

“If it hurts you, you should leave.”

 

“Yes, I like you……  Yet I know you’ll forever be my friend. So just let me be.” 

 

“I guess love hurts.” Irene smiles.

 

“I bet it isn’t easy for you two either.” Kyungsoo hands Irene a slice of apple.

 

 

“Thanks…… Yeah, I once doubted would she not coming back this time. I mean, I am blind for now and no one knows exactly when I’ll recover. Plus, I am an idol who dates a girl. It’s harder than beating Chuck Norris’s .” Irene jokes.

 

 

“She would beat Chuck Norris and even Stallone’s asses for you if she had to.” Kyungsoo also laughs and plays along. “Have faith on her and be happy.”

 

 

 

From then, Kyungsoo starts to visit less frequently.

 

 

 

 

 

Besides, Taeyeon, Jessica, Seulgi, Joy, Sera and Hyuna all take turns and accompany the girl.

 

 

They swear they’d never met someone that strong.

 

They haven’t seen Irene sulk or cry since the incident.

 

 

 

Until she hears the TV program playing in the her room.

 

 

 

“Hello, everyone. I am Wendy Shon, a.k.a The Stargazed. Today, I will perform the songs in my first album. Thank you for the mass support. I couldn’t be more thankful that all song from my album are on the billboard for 2 consecutive weeks. So I am announcing that I would be carrying on my career in my real name.”

 

 

 

Irene doesn’t realize it has been 14 days.

 

 

 

It seems life-long for her.

 

 

But it’s okay. She does it for her.

 

 

 

 

Jessica hugs the dazed girl while Taeyeon is busy weeping.

 

 

“Unnie.” 

 

“What is it ?” Jessica answers while she is wiping two person’s tears.

 

“I don’t think I could love another person in my life.”

 

“Soulmates Irene, soulmates.” Jessica tightens her grip.

 

 

“I had sillily thought what if she wouldn’t come back. I think I might die.” Irene chuckles as she pulls away.

 

 

“If she doesn’t come back for real, I am so going to the States and murder her .” Taeyeon shows her (in)famous ajumma laugh.

 

“But deep inside, I know she’s coming back to me. I can feel it.” Irene wipes her eyes with the back of her hand. 

 

 

 

 

 

Wendy is so well-known now.

 

Once the director of Contento and now such an awesome singer-songwriter.

 

 

Everyone can hum along or sing a few lines of “Photograph” or “All of The Stars” whenever it is played.

 

 

So maybe it’s time again.

 

 

What would be the meaning of success or happiness if there’s no one to share them with.

Hi guys !!!! So I managed to squeeze in Wendy's cover to this chapter XD

I love her voice, really. She's my fav female singer, alongside with Taeyeon (how obvious).

 

Personally, I think this chapter is a bit weird but I have to put everything together so .....

And D.O isn't a bad person, so does Suzy.

They are just going to add more dramatic elements here and there.

 

This is a happy story after all. Booyah ~~ Happiness !!! LOL
