Chapter 5: Is This How Life Works?

I gathered all my things, placed them into my handbag. I gave myself a one last look in front of my full-length mirror.

“Perfect!” I smiled wishing to wash all frustrations away and start the day afresh again.

I walk confidently down the stairs and avoided eye contacts with my parents, which I see it as a point of trying to make my day a better day with that breaking BIG news my parents just broke to my during breakfast.

I barely ate my breakfast and now my stomach’s growling. I look at the time and my eyes widen at the moment I saw the time.

“What?! I screamed literally in the car.

“I am so damn screwed! It’s already 10:30am?” I asked myself I disbelief.

I increased my speed of actions, turned the key to start the engine of my car and drove off to the office. Every 10 minutes, there would be a call from Yumi, rushing me to get my into the office as soon as possible and of course, she put it in a nicer way then this.

“Yah! Yumi! I know already! I will be there in 5 minutes! Just stop rushing me already, will you?!” I raised my voice through the phone.

I could feel that she was stumbled by my actions and tonality. I immediately apologized to her and made sure she was alright. She assured me, too, that she was. Nevertheless, I felt so bad screaming at her, not just fully because she was getting on my nerves too, but also because of the bad start of the day! I just can’t seem to get it off my mine and it frustrated me even further. Now, every little thing seems to piss my off so easily! I just don’t want an arranged marriage! It’s just so ridiculous!

“Breathe in Jo. Breathe out. And claim your big down!” I talked to myself as though I was my personal psychologist.

Once I felt better, I turned off the engine and walked out of the car. I headed to the lift and I saw Sehun’s secretary leaving the building. I wondered what’s the reason of her being here. “Do we have another project with the Oh’s Enterprise?” I mumbled to myself. I pouted and shrugged my shoulders as the door of the lift open before me.<
