Incheon International Airport
Of Airplanes, Lists and Break-upsChapter 13
18 hours of plane was finally reaching its end. Kris was exhausted. He hadn't been able to sleep because of the uncomfortable seating and damn his glorious, never-ending, super model, legs! He had enviously looked at Kyungsoo's shorter legs, sitting comfortably, sleeping away, looking ever so peaceful. Kris had with much force resisted the urge to brush Kyungsoo's hair away from his eyes and dry off the drool on his cute chin.
Kyungsoo was a nice guy and Kris could easily see them becoming great friends but actually asking for his phone number, was easier said than done. 'Can I get your phone number' came out as a low mumble of slurred Chinese, slightly sounding like 'It's gonna be lonely not knowing anyone in Korea...' Kyungsoo either didn't hear or didn't take the Chinese hint and before Kris knew, the plane had landed and come to a full stop. People were all in a hurry to get off the plane. That included Kyungsoo. One moment he was sitting down next to a far-away Kris and the next he was gone. Kris's heart faltered and panic mixed with a dash of disappointment descended on him. Kris was the last passenger to exit the aircraft after a tired looking stewardess patiently asked him to leave the plane.
And surprise.
Kris manages to get lost in Incheon International Airport.
He walked back and forth for a bit, not bothering to look at signs, until he gave up to sulk in a corner.
"Lost yet?"
Kris almost cried at the sound of Kyungsoo, a relatively stranger's voice. Watery eyed, Kris refrained from hugging the lights out of the male who was a lot shorter than he first had assumed.
'Cute' Kris mentally slapped himself. 'Kris Wu Fan. Get your head in the game'
"I THOUGHT I LOST YOU!" Kris blurted out. 'Way to play it cool. Douche bag.'
"Ah, sorry. For a moment I completely forgot you weren't Korean. I kinda thought you'd be right behind me..." Kyungsoo trailed off. Clearing his voice he took hold of Kris's wrist.
"Come on. It's this way."
They boarded the subway that would lead them to the main building of the airport. They didn't speak much but Kris didn't mind. He felt it was just nice not being alone. After waiting in line to have their pictures taken, along with a thumb print scan and a lot of paperwork, Kris was finally able to take one step closer to the place he had longed to see for years.
To fetch their luggage involved another long walk before they finally reached baggage claim. Kyungsoo's luggage arrived before his. Kris may have feared that Kyungsoo would just up and leave again but luckily he didn't. He patiently waited for Kris's bags to turn up.
What do you know. Kris's sad luggage was the last to come rolling down. Too lazy to move they both stayed in place as they soon were some of the only people still there. After what felt like an eternity, all their luggage had been collected. Kris kind of wished he had brought more bags in order to prolong their time together but three large suitcases had to do. Kris stood fidgeting with the hem of his man purse. It was now or never. When they left for the main hall there would be someone waiting for Kyungsoo and someone to take Kris to his dorm.
"It was nice meeting you." Kyungsoo reached out his hand towards a slightly disappointed Kris.
".. oh. Yeah. N-nice meeting you." He tightly held his hand, trying to formulate a coherent enough sentence involving the exchange of phone numbers.
"... PHONE NUMBER! ... Can I. Have your. Phone number?"
'Why don't you just go dig a hole and stay there, you awkward turtle?!' Kris's mind reprimanded.
Kyungsoo let go of his hand and looked around. The place was almost empty. Kyungsoo stepped closer to Kris, grabbed his shirt and pulled him into a short kiss.
Kyungsoo slowly detached his lips, smirking before whispering, "Have a nice time in Korea."
Then he was gone.
