I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist and a gentle kiss on my cheek. “I was thinking…” my boyfriend paused. I hummed in response, combing my hair. “I don’t know if we should meet my parents today.” I turned to face him, raising an eyebrow at him. “They’re probably busy anyway.” Minseok scratched his head. “Why? Are you nervous?” I smirked cheekily and crossed my arms over my chest. Minseok sighed and pulled away, leaning against the door frame. “A little.” I chuckled to myself. “You have nothing to be nervous about. They’re only your parents.” Minseok looked away. “Only my parents.” I raised an eyebrow at his response. “I’m sure they’re not that bad. Come on, they’ve been waiting all week for this.” I pinched him. “Ouch…” he rubbed his arm. “Fine, we’ll go, just don’t say I didn’t tell you so.” I pouted and stood opposite him. “You haven’t. What’s so bad about your parents that you don’t want to go? Hmm?” Minseok’s mouth opened and closed several times. As I turned to walk to the kitchen, giving up on hearing his answer, he followed me. “They’re just... protective. They ask lots of weird questions and poke their noses in.” Minseok took the mug from my hand and went over to hot drinks machine. “They just love you.” When Minseok didn’t reply, I walked away into our room to sort out what to wear.   I came out several minutes later to notice that Minseok was sipping a coffee by himself. “You think your parents are bad? Aren’t all parents protective?” I questioned. He scratched his head. “Yeah but whenever I’ve brought home a girl, friend or girlfriend, they’ve thrown lots of stupid questions at her.” I chuckled, taking a sip of my own drink. “I’ll have fun trying to answer them then.” I joked, looking up at Minseok, who had calmed down. “This is like a first date…” he mumbled. I bit my lip to stop my laughter from escaping. “W-what?” I took a sip of my drink. “I hope you’re not going to date your parents.” Minseok gasped. “No! I mean, it’s like a first date when you are nervous and are a little unsure.” I smiled, reminiscing. “I wasn’t unsure at all on our first date. Nervous, sure.” Minseok shook his head. “I was. I didn’t know if I was going to make a fool of myself or not.” I tilted my head to the side. “Well you did, kind of.” I covered my mouth with my hand, stifling a laugh. Minseok gasped and crossed his arms over his chest. “But,” I wrapped my arms around his neck. “You were adorable. You couldn’t stop stuttering and fiddling with your t-shirt.”   “Yeah, and you told your parents about it. They teased me the whole day.” Minseok laughed. I smiled up at him in reminiscence. “So... you met my parents, now I need to meet yours.” Minseok sighed and took another sip of his coffee. I reached over to take his free hand in mine. “Look, we’ll go, and if it goes badly, then we’ll just tell them we need to go.” I suggested. Minseok looked straight at me, chewing his lip. “And if it goes badly…” he muttered. I cupped his face in my hands. “Then nothing will change. I’ll still love you. I’ll stay with you.” Minseok’s face lit up. “You will? Even if they make things really awkward?” I nodded, pressed my nose against his. “If we don’t go soon, we’ll be late, and you’ve told me how much your parents hate waiting.” I pulled away, staring at him, waiting. Minseok took a deep breath before standing up. “We’ll go. What’s the worst that could happen?”   Oh you.   As we stood in front of his parents’ house, I looked over to see that Minseok was shaking. Suddenly, the door opened and I looked away from my boyfriend. I gulped. His parents sure looked intimidating. His mother crossed her arms and looked me up and down.
