My eyes opened slowly as I smiled into the pillow. I stretched out my arms, yawning like a cat. Today was just another Monday, another day I had to go to school, but it felt like nothing could make my mood dip today. I leapt up and got dressed into my uniform, pulling my hair into a ponytail. I clambered downstairs and was about to leave the house when my mum called me back. “Sweetie, some boy left a bag of chocolates for you!” she held out the bag of heart shaped chocolates for me to take. Poor woman, she must be mistaken. They’re obviously not for me. “Are you sure they’re for me?” I asked as I checked the tag on them. I instantly grinned when I saw the message. ‘Happy Valentine’s day Seon Ah! I hope you enjoy the surprise. Love from Yoongi.’ Ah, Yoongi. How do I describe him? He’s lazy, sweet, cool, funny and not to mention good looking. We met in our second year when I was seated on his table across from him. His seating partner had been very snobbish and refused to help him when he was stuck. That’s where I came in. He had been dozing off in class, so I poked him while the teacher wasn’t looking. Yoongi had smiled lazily at me and asked what was up. I had written down the answers on a slip of paper and pushed it over to him. Since that day, I had encouraged him not to fall asleep in class. He was lucky I was kind enough to save him. As soon as I got to school, I saw Yoongi leaning against the wall waiting for me. Once he saw me, a wide smile appeared on his face. We exchanged a tight hug and parted for class.   I pushed my tray onto Yoongi’s table, taking a seat across from him. He spotted the bag of chocolate I brought with me. “Have you even tried one of them? I made them especially for you!” he pouted. I opened the bag eagerly and unwrapped a chocolate, slipping it into my mouth. “Mhmm,” Yoongi always made the best chocolates. He grinned and took one for himself. “So…” he dusted off his trousers, looking up at me. “Are you doing anything for Valentine’s day?” I groaned and played with my food, suddenly feeling drained. “Don’t even remind me.” He poked my nose and fed me another chocolate. “Why not? Today is a special day for lovers.” I rolled my eyes and folded my arms. “But that’s just it! I’m still single!!” I complained. Yoongi grinned and brought his face closer to mine, his eyes staring into mine. “I could change that.” Instantly my bad mood faded and I burst out into laughter, making him laugh along with me. “Come on, let’s get promise rings!” he suggested, bouncing up and taking my hand. I cocked my head to the side in confusion. “But we’re not a couple Yoongi…” he’s acting strange. “So? It’s not about the fact we wear promise rings, it’s what they mean to us. Like my promise is that date or no date, I will always be here for you.” he slid a ring with a pink crystal on it on my finger. My cheeks blazed. It’s like we’re getting married here. He smiled and bought a similar one for himself that was thicker and without the crystal. He nodded thankfully at the students running the stall and dropped the money in the box. “My promise to you is…” I thought carefully. “Even if I change my haircut, or my favourite colour, or even my favourite song, I’ll still be the same Seon Ah you know.” I beamed up at him, leaning up on my tip toes to hug him.   I was walking home from school on a Friday afternoon, a big smile on my face as it was finally over. The week was over and now I could have fun and do whatever I wanted for the weekend. That was until my phone beeped in my blazer pocket. I took my phone out and opened the message. ‘Want to watch me and the boys practice for the competition? :) xx – Yoongi’ the smile I had on my face grew even bigger and I didn’t hesitate to accept the offer, adding my own two kisses. ‘Of course!
