I rolled over, nuzzling my face into the hair of the beautiful woman sleeping beside me. A smile spread over my face as I drank in her vanilla scent, wanting nothing more to hold her close and forget about anything else. I kissed her forehead as she slept peacefully before getting out of bed. I knelt in front of her, her silky black hair from her face. Her eyelashes fanned out elegantly and her pink rosy lips were parted slightly, her warm breath just hitting my face. To me, she was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I stood in the kitchen, tying the string on my apron. I quietly took out the right ingredients, being careful not to wake Yookyung up. I prayed to myself that the smoke alarm wouldn’t go off, and to my luck, it didn’t. I stacked the pancakes and carefully cut a few strawberries into heart shapes, balancing them on top of the pancakes. I sprinkled mini marshmallows over the hot chocolate I prepared and set the food on a tray. I figured something was missing so I hurriedly took a wine glass and searched around the living room for the flower I gave her when I confessed to her. I found it lying next to the picture we took together on our first anniversary. My heart thumped loudly in my chest as I put the flower in the glass and picked up the tray. I hope she likes it.   I stepped onto the first step, taking a deep breath as I took another step, and another. I heard her moving around in bed so I paused. However, when I didn’t hear another sound from her, I took another two steps. My hands shook and I mentally scolded myself, telling myself not to drop the food. It has to be perfect. She does romantic things for me all the time and this is my chance to let her know that what we have is for keeps. I took the last few steps to the bedroom door, taking another deep breath. I pushed the door open slowly with my knee and carried the tray to her bedside table. I smiled in awe seeing her lying peacefully asleep. I ran my thumb over her lips gently, watching as she stirred in her sleep. “Yookyung-ah,” I called softly. Her eyes fluttered open, a smile appearing on her face. My heart leapt out of my chest at the sight of her smile. Yookyung stretched out her arms, sitting up. She looked over at the food I had brought to her and grinned, pecking my lips happily. Yookyung pulled the tray onto her lap and took a bite of one of the strawberries.   “Mmm. You made all of this yourself? In my kitchen?” she asked, surprised. I nodded. “Well, not the flower.” I joked, laughing. I sat on the bed next to her, cuddling her. Yookyung picked up the flower and felt it. “Yah! You didn’t even buy me a real flower.” She pouted cutely.
