Guilt sick

Numbers

His head hurt, his chest was tight, and his throat felt as though he was being strangled. But despite feeling like he’d been beaten to death, and being unable to feel his shaky legs, Sehun somehow managed to stand up.

“I understand.” He muttered, his voice coming out small and delicately. Of course, he didn’t really understand. He didn’t understand why.

Why did he have to do it? Why would he have to kill him? He hadn’t killed anyone so far, and he was almost certain they had been here for days already, surely the game was going to end soon. He shouldn’t have had to kill anyone really. But Luhan? Out of everyone here… Luhan?

Without another word slipping past the brunette’s lips, he was making his way drearily out of the door, finding himself stepping out of the shadows of the dark corners of Luhan’s black room. He had to do it. It wasn’t fair on letting anyone else die. He had to save them. It was one thing sacrificing himself, for if it had have been Luhan’s life or his own, he would have had no decision to make, but that was not the case, as it was another thing for more people to die if he didn’t kill. He would not have to sacrifice himself only, but would also have to sacrifice the remainder of his group.

“Sehun!” Luhan exclaimed, turning round and looking at his boyfriend in surprise, his eyes wide.

Sehun didn’t reply, only pressed his lips together and looked down. He was sorry before he had even done it.

“Have you done it? Did you kill them?” The elder pressed on, slowly walking over to the brunette, who refused to make eye contact with his smaller boyfriend. “Sehun, did you…”

Luhan trailed off when Sehun’s head flicked up, his eyes landing on the smaller man as he stared at him, a deadly look in his eyes that could silence anyone. He stepped forwards, immediately closing his arms tightly around the boy as he pulled him hard against his chest, burying his face in his hair and breathing deeply. Luhan didn’t know what was going on, he was stood there, tense and shocked, he had never seen this side of Sehun before, and it was very very scary.

“Sehun what… What are you-“

“Just shush.” He said softly, his voice barely there as he buried his nose in Luhan’s hair, nuzzling at his ear.

He held the boy tightly as he sat them both down on the floor, cradling his boyfriend in his arms, as though he was a small child which needed protecting.

“I don’t want to loose you.” Sehun whimpered. “I don’t want this Luhan, help me, please help me.” He whimpered.

The eldest’s expression creased. He was confused. Then the realisation hit him. The painful realisation that no, Sehun hadn’t killed the person he was supposed to yet, for he was sat on the floor cradling him in his arms instead.

“It’s ok.” He said softly, pulling out of the younger’s grip to look at him. He his arm gently and sent him a soothing smile. “Just do it, it will be fine. This place isn’t real, you’re not really killing me.” He chuckled.

Sehun his lips and frowned.

“What?”

“I’ve seen it.” He admitted, his doe eyes falling back to the floor. “I’ve seen the room we’re really in. The room we went to sleep in all those days ago.” He smiled. “We’re still there and this is all in our heads.”

The brunette gently hooked his arms back around his boyfriend, pressing his lips against his head in a soft kiss. He wanted to reassure him that it was ok, he didn’t have to lie to try and make him feel better about this. To try and make him feel like it wasn’t real, like it wasn’t really happening.

“Luhan don’t lie to me.” Sehun sighed, pressing his lips against the smaller’s forehead once again.

“I’m not lying!” Luhan protested, swatting his boyfriend’s lips away and looking up at him with an honest expression. “I’m telling you the truth. You’re not really killing me. Just eliminating me from the game. That’s all it is. Just a game.”

“Luhan-“

“If you think I’m lying then that’s fine. But you need to do this, come on, be brave for me.”

“Lu-“

“Just do it, and don’t you dare get guilt sick Oh Sehun!” He pleaded, cupping his face as he pressed their noses together, his eyes fluttering shut. “I’ll forgive you, ok? I know you don’t want to. I know you don’t want to hurt me.”

Sehun whimpered.

“I promised I would’t ever hurt you.” He said shakily, tears welling up in his eyes despite trying to keep himself ok, trying to not cry in front of Luhan. His princess didn’t deserve that.

Luhan snuggled into his chest and glanced around the room.

“The spheres, just blow one out of place with your power, it will fall and break, it’s poisonous gas inside it.”

“Baby, I can’t poison you.”

“Yes you can. It’s the easiest way, you won’t have to hurt me then.” He smiled, looking up to meet Sehun’s sad eyes.

Finally Sehun nodded, leaning down to press a small loving kiss against his lover’s lips.

“Ok, go to sleep baby.” He smiled softly, relaxing his arms around the boy and lying down, pulling the elder to rest on his chest as he gently and lovingly ran his fingers through his ashy blond hair, waiting for sleep to whisk him away. He hummed a soft tune as they both lie there. Their song. 365. Luhan would occasionally join in with the odd line, mixing together the beautiful sounds of Sehun’s light humming with Luhan’s Chinese vocals.

“Boy I’m willing to be, right here in your arms.”

The blonde’s voice was drowsy and tired as his boyfriend rocked his small frame, in an attempt to soothe him to sleep.

Eventually Luhan drifted to sleep, and Sehun smiled blindingly down at his peaceful features, his tears dripping onto the pale boy’s cheeks and running down to the floor.

“I’m so sorry baby.” He whispered, leaning down to press his lips against Luhan’s before he gently lay him onto the floor, not wanting to draw his eyes away from the peacefully sleeping figure.

He finally looked up, giving his wrist a half-hearted flick at the spheres, sending one crashing to the ground, a thick white gas billowing up from the inside of the broken shell and dispersing around the room. He turned, disappearing through the door. That was it. He had killed him.

Kia stood in the darkened room, listening to the trills of the wall as everyone entered silently, gathering in the centre beneath the bright light. It was time for them all to return to the main arena, they were no longer allowed in their separate sections for a while.

“Someone’s missing.” He breathed, realising there was one less note than there should have been for all those who remained. “Who could be missing?” He muttered worriedly, before it dawned on him, Sehun had been sent on a mission not too long ago. “Sehun?” He hissed into the darkness, hoping the younger would respond.

Nothing.

“Sehun!” He tried again.

Nothing.

He felt a sickness creep up inside him, his best friend was gone. And here he was just stood there praying this wasn’t true.

“Sehun’s gone.” He whispered, reaching out to touch the boy stood beside him – who ever it may have been – Kai didn’t know, he couldn’t see. Being stood under this bright light, at risk of dying at any wrong movement, he couldn’t see anything.

They boy’s hand reached out to grip his wrist, pushing him away from him.

“It was Luhan!” He snapped, snatching his arm away. “I had to kill Luhan! He’s the one not here! Are you happy now?!” He yelled, not waiting for a reply before he pulled off his hood, throwing his head back and letting the light consume him. His body disintegrating to a small pile of dust, fragments of his being littering across the ground as the wind shook through the room.

Wow okay sorry it's not as long as I had hoped for. I have been really really ill this past week so I haven't had chance to write. So ill I ended up only going in for one of my mock exams :/

But I still wanted to post something for you before I went on vacation for a week! Aaaaaand because I love you all so much, here is the first teaser for my next fic!!!!

Isn't this really exciting?!?! I'm so happy to get to write another fic! Not that I don't love this one, but with so many deaths its just getting a bit repetative and dull I'm sick of killing people!! Gah! I'm excited to have something with a more adventurous storyline!

Anyway, next week's teaser!!!

Like this story? Give it an Upvote!
Thank you!

Chapter 32: This was just... I can't even. IT WAS AMAZING. The plot was so unique and everything was really well-written. It really made me sad near the end though, but I guess it's a good thing because I may or may not have maniacally laughed at the earlier deaths (sorry TOP :3). But one thing is just lingering in my mind having finished this: what was the point of the experiment in the first place? Either you never mentioned it or I just accidentally skimmed through or completely skipped a part. I don't need an answer, but I'm just curious, because the whole idea of those programme things kind of freak me out. Like, what if that happened in real lif? Ooh! I also really like how you made Kris and Luhan the two who woke up and the effects of the programme as an "excuse" for them to leave in the future. Very clever ;) overall, I really, really loved this and this comment is WAYYY longer than it should've been. Can't wait to check out your other works!

Chapter 32: OMG I read everything in one evening. But that was just... the foreword and the trailer were hell of amazing and I just HAD to read it. And well, it was interesting though I didn't think they'd really die... but I still cried a few times, lol. But some deaths just broke my heart, like ricky's and hunhan <//3
