Worlds Collide: The Collision
“Yes, she’s with me.” Kris nodded while glancing at Jungah, who was leaning on the car’s hood.
“I thought she went out again, hao le.” Luhan said from the other line. Kris put his phone back in his coat pocket.
“Luhan?” She asked as walked to her.
“Yes.” Kris nodded and he leaned his palms on both of her sides.
“What is it?” Jungah asked, her eyes still glued on the track. Kris smiled and he just buried his face on her neck.
Jungah smiled.
“What is it again?”
Kris just shook his head.
“Bad day at work again? Right, you had the BOD meeting today.” She said.
“It got cancelled.”
Jungah sighed and just wrapped her arms around him.
“So, that’s why you’ve been quiet.”
Kris shrugged and slowly pulled away.
“We have to meet the person the advertising team referred next week.” She reminded.
“They have someone already?” Kris asked as he leaned beside her.
“Yes, I think he just arrived today or was it yesterday.”
“Lotte Jeollado?” Khun looked at his agent.
“Yes, this hotel slash recreation place is a project merger with Xi Empire and Lotte Corporation, they’ll be having the opening in a few weeks. And they want you to be the spokesperson.”
“A hotel?”
“Not just any hotel, they have one of the up to date sports stadium and the latest drag strip.”
“They have a race track?” Khun’s ears perked up.
“Why would I subject myself to that?” Jungah winced, Jinhee smiled. They were having breakfast together.
“Mei.” Luhan sighed.
“I mean, it’s a ball. Fluffy gowns and tulle and…ugh.” She shuddered.
“You’ll look beautiful in a gown, Jungah.” Jinhee said.
“Unnie, I don’t even wear dresses often why would I wear something so…”
“Monstrous?”
“Good morning, Kris.” Jinhee smiled.
“Try talking to her.” Luhan said.
“I’m not going, Luhan. I mean, you’re going, so why do I need to?”
Kris chuckled and sat down.
“Has it ever occurred to you that your name is also on the invite?” Luhan asked.
“Where’s Yixing when you need him?” Jungah grumbled.
Kris shook his head.
“Young Entrepreneur’s Gathering.” Jungah read the invitation.
“I smell social climbers.” She grunted.
“I give up.” Luhan groaned, Jinhee just laughed.
“Not telling me why you’re not attending the party?” Kris asked as they stepped out of the house.
Jungah chuckled.
“For someone who knows me so well, you’re quite slow.” She mused.
They were already at the garden.
Kris smiled.
“Wu Yifan, you don’t get it do you?”
“What do you mean?”
“That day, it’s your birthday.”
Kris paused. Jungah’s raised one brow at him.
“I know, I know, you feel touched. You’re welcome. Now, do you still want to attend?”
Kris lips turned upward, he was touched Jungah remembered his birthday.
“You’re welcome, tower.”
“Come here.” Kris pulled her towards him.
“So, are we still going to that ball?” She asked. Kris smiled and caressed her cheek.
“Actually, I don’t want to force you to go. You don’t need to come if you don’t want.”
She chuckled.
“It’s a Sunday, you should be resting.” Kris said.
“Can we go out?”
“Shopping?”
“To shopping for sledgehammers we go.”
Kris chuckled.
“Let’s go, no wait,” Kris glanced at her clothes.
“Maybe you should-”
“I am not going to change into jeans.” She shook her head. Kris eyed her bare legs warily.
“It’s a weekend, bai tuo!”
“Fine, I’ll just have to buy you one at the store.”
