I Love You, Just Like This

(DH) - Daehyun speaking
(YJ) - Young Jae speaking
(J) - Jessica speaking
(S) - Sungyeol speaking

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Aish.. Noona.. why do you make me wait so long?” (DH)

“Then you cook! It takes time to cook!” (J) Daehyun groaned a bit as he laid his head down onto the table and stared over at his older sister, whom was currently trying her very best to cook. Of course, he wasn’t entirely sure if his sister’s very best was actually.. good. Though, she really can cook seafood fried rice really well.

“Yah. Why don’t you invite someone over? You never go on dates.” (J)

“Why do you want me to go on dates? You don’t go on dates.” (DH)

“That’s because I take care of you.” (J)

“Noona.. You’re already twenty-three. You should get a boyfriend yourself before you talk about me!” (DH)

“Aigoo.. Arasseo. I’ll stop talking about it. But you better bring home a nice girl! Well.. unless..” (J)

“Unless what?” (DH) Daehyun sat up in his seat just a bit, but he used his arm and hand to prop himself up as he continued to look in Jessica’s direction.

“Unless you’re into boys!” (J)

“No! What makes you say that?!” (DH)

“I don’t know..” (J) Jessica turned around and face her younger brother as she gave a suspicious look. She moved closer to her younger brother, causing Daehyun to move back a bit with how close she was. “I’ve never seen you date a girl yet though, especially with your personality!” (J)

“Aish! Can you just finish cooking?” (DH)

“Okay... But I’m not done with you!” (J)

As Jessica went back to go finish cooking, Daehyun sighed in relief as he went back to his previous position. He looked down at the ground a bit, trying to think. It’s not like he really had much of a choice. Sooyoung basically chased off every potential female lover out there and he wasn’t necessarily all that interested in Sooyoung...

“It’s all done! Jung Family’s World Famous Seafood Fried Rice!” (J)

Daehyun perked up and looked up at the two bowls of food that were taken over to the dining table. Daehyun grinned as he pulled his bowl of food to himself and quickly began eating. After all, despite his uncertainty about his uality, he did know that food would be his one true love.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“That Young Jae looked cute.” (J)

“What?! Then you go date him!” (DH)

“Ani. He’s not my type.” (J)

“But you just sa-” (DH)

“You wanted to say yes, right?” (J)

“Aish.. you’re unbearable sometimes..” (DH)

“Well, you didn’t deny it!” (J)

Jessica gave a small giggle as she leaned back a bit, looking up at the sky. The pair were currently looking up at the sky on their balcony of their apartment. Daehyun pulled his cell phone out and began texting Yongguk. Jessica looked over at Daehyun, attempting to look at the screen on the cell phone.

“Who are you texting?” (J)

“Just Yongguk. I have to see if he found anyone else to join our dance group.” (DH)

“Oh? How many people do you need?” (J)

“Two. Yongguk, Sooyoung, and I are already in it.” (DH)

“Is there an age range for it?” (J)

“Yea. High Schoolers only. That’s why I didn’t ask you, noona.” (DH)

“Ah.. Must be difficult.” (J)

Once Daehyun was done with his text, he placed his cell phone away and looked back up at the sky. They both let out a small sigh before they turned to each other and began laughing.

“Why did you sigh?” (DH)

“Because I knew you would.” (J)

“Are you teasing me?” (DH)

“Maybe.” (J)

Daehyun grinned a bit as he lightly pushed his sister. Jessica gave a stern look to Daehyun before she began slapping his arm. Daehyun quickly raised his arm in an attempt to defend himself despite the fact that she was only aiming for his arm.

“YAH! Don’t you know not to shove a lady like that?! I could have gotten hurt!” (J)

“Since when were you a lady?!” (DH)

Jessica soon got to her feet as she glared at her younger brother. She gave a swift kick to Daehyun’s side before going into the apartment and locking the glass door behind her. Daehyun turned as he quickly got to his feet, banging on the glass door.

“Noona! I’m sorry! Please let me back in!” (DH)

Jessica glared at Daehyun through the window. They stared at each other for about a minute or so before Jessica stuck her tongue out and walked away. Daehyun then proceeded to continue banging on the door.

“Noona! Let me in! AISH!” (DH)

Daehyun turned and kicked the air before sitting down and leaning against the glass door. He sighed as he pulled his phone out once more. Jessica quietly tip toed to the glass door as a grin played across her face. Raising her hand, she moved it back before slamming her palm on the glass door and causing Daehyun to jump to his feet. Jessica began laughing as she unlocked the door and pulled the door open. Daehyun glared at her older sister as she covered while pointing at Daehyun.

“You should’ve seen your face!” (DH)

“Haha.. very funny.” (J)

Daehyun walked past Jessica, who continued laughing after closing the glass door. Daehyun sat down on the couch in the living room, slouching a bit as he turned the television on. Jessica made her way over to Daehyun and sat down next to him, looking at the screen.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“What do you want to eat now?” (J)

“What are our choices?” (DH)

“There’s Spicy Korean Cucumber Salad.. Korean-style steamed eggs.. Uh.. let me go check.” (J)

Jessica got up from her seat as she made her way into the kitchen. She opened the fridge and bent over as she began looking through the various ingredients and left overs that were currently still in the fridge.

“Haemul Pajeon, Chap Chae, vegetarian Naengmyun..” (J)

“All of them.” (DH)

“W-What?!” (J)

Jessica stood up straight as she looked over at Daehyun with disbelief clear on her face. She only rolled her eyes though as she closed the fridge door and made her way back over to her brother.

“What do you mean all of them?!” (J)

“Make all of th- Ooh.. wait.. you can’t cook.” (DH)

Jessica smacked the top of Daehyun’s head, causing Daehyun to instantly sit forward and rub the top of his head. Daehyun turned to glare his older sister, whom only sneered back at him. “If you want it so badly, then you go cook!” (J)

“You could have caused brain damage!” (DH)

“Please! What brain?!” (J)

“At least I have one!” (DH)

“Aigoo! Why did I have to be stuck with such a little brother?!” (J)

Jessica turned and made her way back into the kitchen before she began pulling things out of the fridge. Daehyun pouted a bit before getting up from his seat and walking over to the kitchen. Just as he had started helping, Jessica had soon slapped his hand.

“What are you doing?” (J)

“I’m helping my older sister because she’s stuck with a little brother like this!” (DH)

“You don’t even know how to cook!” (J)

“I can at least try!” (DH)

Jessica smiled a bit as she ruffled her younger brother’s hair. Luckily, he was bent down at the moment, otherwise she would have never been able to reach his head. Sure, she was older, but that didn’t necessarily mean that she was taller.

“You’re such a nice brother.” (J)

“Only because you’re a nice sister.” (DH)

They both chuckled a bit as they began going through the process of cooking.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sadly, things didn’t go as well as they had hoped. Was it a curse that both of them weren’t great at cooking? At least Jessica was okay at cooking, but when mixed with Daehyun’s cooking abilities, it just seemed to cause all sorts of trouble.

“YAH! THE FIRE IS TOO HIGH!” (J)

“It’ll cook it faster!” (DH)

“It doesn’t apply that way! Turn it down! You’re burning it!” (J)

“No I’m not! I’m adding crispiness to the food!” (DH)

“YAH! IT’S ALREADY A DARK BROWN!” (J)

It didn’t take long for them to finally finishing both their arguing and their cooking. The majority of the food was either a dark brown or slightly black from Daehyun’s cooking ability. Jessica sighed as they both sat at the dining table, staring at the food in front of them.

“This is why I do the cooking.” (J)

“At least it’ll taste fine.” (DH)

“Yah. If you’re going to be like this, then bring someone whom who can cook!” (J)

“Why don’t you bring back someone who can cook?!” (DH)

“Because I can cook compared to you!” (J)

“Arasseo!” (DH)

Daehyun instantly began eating. He seemed like he didn’t mind the taste of how everything tasted. Jessica raised a single brow though as she seemed to have thought that it probably tasted better than it looked. She picked up her chopsticks and the second she placed the food in , she shut her eyes tightly as she quickly covered while she continued chewing.

“This is horrible!” (J)

“There’s nothing wrong with it.” (DH)

“It tastes completely horrible! What do you mean there’s nothing wrong with it?!” (J)

“Well, I like it.” (DH)

“That’s because you have no taste buds!” (J)

The two continued arguing amongst each other while they ate. The arguments seemed to help take their minds of the taste of the food and more on trying to pick on each other. They didn’t go too far of course. After all, they’re not really made at each other. They rarely ever get mad at each other.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Young Jae smiled as he added the final touches to the dish. Once the fire was out, he transfered the food onto a serving plate before he brought it to the dining table. He looked around before he soon found himself being hugged from behind.

“Young Jae! You finished cooking!” (S)

“Y-Yea..” (YJ)

“I love it when you cook! Don’t tell anyone, but you cook better than mom too.” (S)

“No I don’t. Let’s just eat now.” (YJ)

Young Jae and his older brother, Sungyeol, sat down at the table and quickly began eating. Young Jae looked up at Sungyeol, seeing that he was completely and entirely engrossed in eating at the moment. Sungyeol was only older than Young Jae by a year and a few months, and yet Young Jae seemed to act more like the older sibling between the two of them. It was alright though. It meant that they were basically able to share everything among each other.

“Hey.. Hyung..” (YJ)

Sungyeol looked up just as he put a mouth full of food into his mouth. Sungyeol looked as if he had gotten caught red handed doing something illegal as he quickly wiped his mouth and continued chewing the food inside his mouth.

“What is it?” (S)

“Well.. there’s this guy...” (YJ)

Sungyeol instantly began coughing as he quickly pulled his glass of water to his lips and drank in large gulps of water before he finally calmed himself. He sighed as he wiped his mouth again before his eyes instantly focused entirely on Young Jae.

“G-Go on! Tell me everything!” (S)

“W-Well.. you see.. there’s this guy.. and he bumped into me at school today..” (YJ)

“And? AND?!” (S)

“And.. I think that.. I might like him..” (YJ)

“Woah! My little brother is gay too!” (S)

“D-Don’t say that! I meant like a friend..” (YJ)

“Don’t be shy now! Tell me, did he make a move yet?” (S)

“Huh? What do you mean?” (YJ)

“Did he ask you out?” (S)

“No.. he didn’t.” (YJ)

“He’s probably shy then.. you should ask him out!” (S)

“W-What?! I.. I can’t do that!” (YJ)

“Why not?!” (S)

“Because... I.. I just met him..” (YJ)

“Well, you then.. get to know him more! Go get his number or something!” (S)

“I already have his number though..” (YJ)

“W-What!? Woah! My brother is a player!” (S)

“S-Shut up!” (YJ)

“Let me see your phone. Come on!” (S)

“Why?” (YJ)

“Just give it to me!” (S)

“Okay, okay..” (YJ)

Young Jae fished his cell phone out from his pocket before reaching across the dining table and handing his phone over to Sungyeol. Sungyeol instantly grinned as he took a hold of the phone and they both went back to eating. Sungyeol quickly pulled up the contacts list and looked through it.

“What’s his name?” (S)

“Daehyu- Wait! Why are you asking?!” (YJ)

“I just wanna see.” (S)

Young Jae pouted a bit as he continued eating. He couldn’t help but be suspicious about his older brother, but there wasn’t really much else that he could do about it. To Young Jae’s dismay, Sungyeol was actually planning something. Currently, he was texting Daehyun in an attempt to help his shy little brother get a date finally!

“Hey hyung. Appa and Umma went to work already, right?” (YJ)

“Yea. They left about an hour ago, right before you came back home.” (S)

“I was sure they would be waiting for me to cook for them..” (YJ)

Sungyeol grinned once the text message was sent before he quickly deleted the conversation and handing the phone back to Young Jae. Young Jae looked curiously at his phone as he took it, but he put it off to the side as he continued eating.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Daehyun and Jessica sat on the couch once again as they watched television. They were laughing at something funny that had just happened on the show when Daehyun felt his pocket vibrating lightly. Daehyun pulled his cell phone out from his pocket and couldn’t help but grin as he saw whom had texted him.

‘Annyeong, Daehyun. This is Young Jae. I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date with me!’

Daehyun had turned his back to his older sister, trying to think. Did Young Jae really like him this way? He wasn’t playing a prank or anything on him, right? Daehyun didn’t really know how he felt about this. He jumped though when he felt a hand poke at his side as he soon found his phone stolen from him.

“Young Jae texted you! O-” (J)

Jessica’s eyes widened as she looked up at Daehyun, who was now rubbing the back of his head. Jessica smirked a bit as she held the phone back out to him. Daehyun took the phone back, eyeing his older sister suspiciously.

“What? Why are you giving me that look?” (DH)

“Are you going to tell him yes?” (J)

“W-What?! I’m not going to tell him anything!” (DH)

“Why not! He seemed like a really nice kid!” (J)

“So?! I’m not into him.” (DH)

“So does this mean you’re into boys?” (J)

“Aish, noona! I am not sure if I'm interested!” (DH)

“Okay, okay. But make sure you don’t break that poor boy’s heart!” (J)

“Noona..” (DH)

Daehyun rolled his eyes as he smiled a bit. He brought his legs onto the couch as he leaned against the arm rest. What was he going to say? How was he going to say it? It seemed.. difficult. Should he tell him in person? Daehyun just didn’t know how this whole thing worked!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Young Jae looked down at his cell phone as it sprang to life. He picked his phone up to see what the text message he had received said, causing him to instantly turn red before he glared at his older brother.

“HYUNG!” (YJ)

“W-WHAT?!” (S)

“WHAT DID YOU DO?!” (YJ)

“I didn’t do anything, I swear!” (S)

“Yes you did!” (YJ)

“What did I do?!” (S)

“You texted Daehyun about something!” (YJ)

“I did not!” (S)

“Then why is he saying that he’s not sure if he wants to go on a date with me or not?!” (YJ)

“Oh! You’re going on a date?” (S)

“HYUNG!” (YJ)

“OKAY, Okay! I.. may have had something to do with it. But I wanted my little brother to finally have someone to hold and love with all of his heart!” (S)

“I’m not ready for dating! I was going to wait until after college!” (YJ)

“That’s too late already!” (S)

“No it isn’t! Dating is weird during high school!” (YJ)

Sungyeol only sighed as he rolled his eyes. “Either way, you’re going on a date now.” (S)

“No I’m not! I’m going to tell him that you texted him an-” (YJ)

“You’ll break his heart! He’ll feel embarrassed about replying and then he’ll probably avoid you!” (S)

“I..” (YJ)

Young Jae bit his bottom lip as he looked at his cell phone. What was he supposed to do? He didn’t feel ready to be dating someone, but he didn’t want to hurt Daehyun’s feelings. He sighed before he glared at his older brother.

“You’re so cruel..” (YJ)
