01Like Any Other Day

Burning ,Lovely ,Untouchable & Emotional

♦Eunmi POV♦

I stepped outside Yonsei University. I breathed in the cool crisp air a large, knit, red scarf  wrapped snugly around my neck.  I was happy classes were finally over. I walked towards the library.  As I walked inside I was greeted by the warm, cozy, feeling the library gave off. A smile of content spread across my face. I set my things on an empty chair. I walked around, my fingers softly grazing against spines of books as I walked thru each aisle. I finally found Oliver Twist by: Charles Dickens. I grabbed the book looking at the cover, a smile plastered on my face. I rushed back to my seat eager to start the book I had been dying to start. I opened the book to the 'Chapter 1'. I almost instantly was in my own world like it was just me, and the book. My eyes eagerly reading over each word. Until the clear of someone's throat brought me back to reality. I looked a bit dissapointed someone interrupted me from my book until I saw who it was. A smile spread across my face. "Annyeong Minhyuk-ah," I said in a hushed tone I mean, this was a library.

"Annyeong, for a minute there I thought you would get mad at me for interrupting you from your book," Minhyuk softly replied back chuckling with his signature eye smile.

"How could I ever get mad at you Minhyuk-ah?" I beamed. It was true Kang Minhyuk worked at the library at Yonsei University he was kind, quiet, shy, and polite, that's why working here at a library is an ideal job for him. Despite his personality he plays the drums he actually keeps them in my basement since he lives in an apartment. I feel a bit guilty saying this but, I feel there is something tragic or dark hiding underneath Minhyuk's lovely façade but, of course I don't say or ask Minhyuk about it.

"So what are you reading?" Minhyuk asked eyeing my book.

"Oliver Twist," I replied in english.

"Oliber..?" Minhyuk tilted his head in confusion. I had to stifle my laughter by his strong Korean accent.

"It's an english book," I explained.

"You read english books too?" Minhyuk asked. I nodded. He looked at me in awe he then noticed the head librarian eyeing him as if telling him 'Get back to work,' "Well, I have to get back to working. Bye Eunmi-ah," Minhyuk waved as he pushed his cart of books away. I waved back then, checked the time. 4:39. *I better head to Seoul National Hospital now.* I gathered my things, checked out my book, gave a final wave of goodbye to Minhyuk then exited the warm library. As soon as I stepped out the cool January air hit me. I wrapped my scarf around my neck a bit tighter, lifting it up more over my mouth then, made my way towards Seoul National Hospital. I'm a volunteer there. I help many patients but, there is one patient that I have been helping for quite some time now. His name you ask? Jung Yong Hwa an on-off patient at Seoul National Hospital. He suffers from depression ever since his girlfriend (now his ex) Seohyun died in a car accident 3 years ago. You ask why don't doctors simply give him anti-depressent pills and send this patient on his merry way? Might I add that Yonghwa suffers from severe depression refusing to leave his room and go out into the public. I finally arrived at the hospital I signed in clipped on my name tag and began. I visited some patients played with a few of the children and ran some errands for the doctors. Afterwards I made my way towards YongHwa's room. Yonghwa's room was located in a different building seperate to SN Hospital. I knocked on the door hearing the strums of an unplugged electric guitar.

"Come in," I hear him answer. I slowly opened the door. Yonghwa's room looked like any other person's bedroom like your's and mine. Except in every corner of the room small cameras are placed to moniter Yong Hwa. There were random sheet music scattered all over the flooer. Newspaper articles about Seohyun's car accident plastered on all the walls. Yonghwa sat against the wall sheet music surrounded him on the floor. He looked up his usual blank expression painted on his face.

         "Annyeong," I waved.

"Annyeong," Yonghwa said flatly back. Yonghwa never shows emotion the closest I've ever seen is a smirk whenever he'd scare the other volunteers away with his cold glares. It's kinda like Kris of EXO's face only 10 times more and with no occasional derps.Yonghwa looked back down at his guitar writing down chords on piece of line paper.

"So how are you?" I asked.

"Well, I geuss," Yonghwa replied back.

       "Is there anything you need?"

          "I'm fine," he replied.

"Ok," I replied back , "Well, I geuss I'll go back now," I started towards the door.

"Wait," he stopped me I slowly turned around.

          "Neh?"

           "Stay."

          "Stay?"

"Please," Yonghwa looke up at me then cleared a spot beside me and patted it signaling me to sit with him. I walked then sat in the spot my legs criss-crossed. Yonghwa said nothing else then starting again playing his guitar writing down chords in his notebook every now and then. I relaxed myself after awhile leaning my head against the wall. Soon I lost track of time I glanced at my watch 8:28. I stood up at this aYonghwa looked up at me.

"It's getting late now, I better go, Bye Yonghwa," I waved goodbye and with that I left. Believe it or not that's how every visit with Yonghwa was like. I signed out then made my way towards home. *I hope Jungshin cooked something warm tonight.* I thought. During my walk I heard a noise behind me. I whipped my head around. I very well knew Seoul can become quite the sketchy place after dark. After I saw nothing I turned back around.

      "BOO!"

"AHH!" I let out a scream covering my face with my mitten-covered hands. I then heard laughing. I peeked from my hands. "Yah. Lee Jonghyun that wasn't funny," I pouted.

"It was funny to me," Jonghyun continued to laugh. Lee Jonghyun , an ex-gangster who lives in the streets with his old electric guitar. Since he left his gang  two years back they have been after him ever since.  Jonghyun likes to joke alot and has a care-free personality.

       "Whatever," I pouted.

"But, seriously," Jonghyun's facial expression changed,"Stop coming home so late you know how dangerous these streets can be."

        "I know," I looked down.

"Kaja~ I'l walk you home and protect you from all the scary monsters," Jonghyun winked.I rolled my eyes.

"You just want some of Jungshin-oppa's cooking," I replied. Jonghyun lifted his hands up in surrender.

"Hey, I'm a homeless man here, food does sound pretty nice and I would like to get out of this freezing weather."

"I know. Kaja~ Maybe Jungshin made something nice and warm," I hooked my arm thru his and we marched off.

I'm just going to point out, RN stands for registered nurse. So RN Nurse is really redundant. Can't wait to start reading though~! :)
