Episode 35: The Reunification Of Korea!... ?!
My Brother Is The Prince?!
Chapter 35: The Reunification Of Korea!... ?!
Changdeokgung Palace, the Emperor and Empress’ bedchamber…
“Are you going nuts Dong Hwan?! What are you thinking?!” shouted Princess or should I say, Empress Che-Rin.
“How dare you raise your voice towards me! I know that you helped my brother, his two sons and allies escape!” answered Emperor Dong Hwan.
“Even if I did that then I would have been proud! You’re not the real emperor of this country/1 How could you just accept the offer of North Korea so easily?!”
“So you did let them escape… WHERE ARE THEY!”
She didn’t say anything but just looked outside but then, she said: “I don’t know but what I know is that they’re safe… FROM YOU.”
“Che-Rin… That settles it then. You are not to leave this palace anymore. I’ll be going to Panmunjom now for the Reunification of Korea. Behave yourself, Che-Rin.”
Back at Pyeongchang…
“Yah! Hyung! Stop teasing me!” shouted Tae Hoon as he punched his older brother on his right shoulder. He and JoonSe were both at the terrace.
“Hahaha! Mianhaeyo Dong-saeng! Hahaha! I just can’t help it! Hahaha! So, what did you feel when she slept on your shoulder?” asked JoonSe.
“… H-Hyung! Aish! Stop it! Waaahh!!!”
“Hahahaha! No honestly! Hahaha! What did you feel?”
“What… did I… feel? Honestly, I… I… think I… liked it.”
“You-you liked it?”
“Ne. Somehow, the moment her head touched my shoulder, it’s like something within me started controlling me so the next thing I knew was my other arm was already at her back and then you guys were all staring at us!...”
“Hmm, if I’m not mistaken, that’s called L-O-V-E!”
“YAH! HYUNG!”
“Hahahaha!”
Meanwhile, in the garden on the other side of the villa…
“SongHyun! My little sister is growing up! I can’t believe it!” said Dong Wook.
“Yah! Oppa! Shut up!”
“Hahaha! Wae?! Why do you want me to shut up?! Hahaha! Oh! You’re blushing!”
“I’m not!”
“Oh but yes you are!”
“I’m not blushing!”
“Hahaha! But still, it was nice of Tae Hoon to do that. He really does care for you SongHyun.”
“I… I guess you’re right… (smiles).”
Inside the villa, both Sun Joon and HyoEun were looking at the brother and sister at the garden through the glass door.
“Hey HyoEun, how about we do what they did tonight? Well?”
“Yah! Shut up! That will never happen!”
Then, Mu-Ryong and HyeMi both came running: “Guys! You’ve all got to see this!”
Everyone rushed into the living room where the adults were. They all watched the news.
“Right now, we are here at Panmunjom where the leaders of North and South Korea are both attending a historical moment in our country’s history, the Reunification of Korea! His Majesty Emperor Dong Hwan and Kim Jong-un are now signing the documents which will ensure the reunification of both countries and also, the creation of the Federal Republic of Korea. Now, to those viewers who doesn’t know…”
“I cannot believe this! How dare he do this thing!” shouted Emperor Gojo.
“You know what guys, I have a bad feeling about this!” said Min Young.
“And there you have it everyone! The Korean Peninsula has finally been reunified! (the anchor at the newsroom cuts) Lee Yeun, I’m sorry to interrupt but, we are receiving reports that anti-North Korea groups are heading for Changdeokgung Palace and the Blue House. Yeun, we’ll be going back to you for a while and so, Park Uibong please explain to us what is currently happening there.”
“With this, both countries would become open to each other.” said Ms. Jang.
“And with that, we don’t even know what the North is really planning!” said Commander Im.
“Don’t forget our so-called new Emperor!” said Director Ryu.
“Grrr! Dong Hwan! What are you doing!” said Emperor Gojo.
“Hey everyone, how come Princess Che-Rin isn’t at the event a while ago?!” asked Hae-young.
“You’re right! She wasn’t with our fake emperor at Panmunjom!” said HyeJung.
“Hmm, I guess she’s been locked or is forbidden to go out of the palace!” said Prime Minister Jin.
“You mean, perhaps Uncle Dong Hwan has discovered that she helped us escape?!” asked Tae Hoon.
“That is a possibility. I’m sure the people are also wondering the same thing.” said Sun Joon.
“Right now, Anti-North Korea groups are currently staging demonstrations in front of both Changdeokgung Palace and the Blue House. They are all mad at the new government for initiating this reunification so quickly and, most importantly they said was that, it looks like that we, the South bowed down to what North Korea was giving or offering us. They are being held up by the police to keep them away as far as possible from the palace and the house. This is Park Uibong reporting live near Changdeokgung Palace.”
“See! Even the people don’t like it! Aish! What do you think might happen now?!” asked Mr. Kim.
“Calm down Ahpah, though I hate to think about itbut, what could happen next? It’s hard to know…” said Tae Hoon.
That entire day, the whole country was celebrating their reunification. After the events at Panmunjom, the leaders of both North and South Korea went to Changdeokgung Palace for a banquet. Of course, the protesters were all driven away by the police and then, the streets surrounding the palace were quickly cleaned. The Korean Reunification was big news all around the world. The other members of the Six-Party Talks namely China, Japan, Russia and the US all have mixed reactions. The United Nations itself was surprised at the decisions of both North and South Korea. So, the only thing to do was to congratulate the newly reunified country. The people in the North were all rejoicing while those in the South have mixed reactions. Some were happy, sad, confused and of course angry.
An hour later…
This just in, we have a breaking news from Changdeokgung Palace. Let’s go live now to our reporter there. Park Uibong what is this breaking news you have there?
