Eunji/You Pov

There’s nothing to do here but sit and stare at a wall, I thought to myself. Joon came by occasionally to give me food, or free me to relieve myself, but that was all. He didn’t stay and chat, gave me nothing to keep myself entertained. Not even a blanket to sleep comfortably. What kind of love was this?

I’ve been keeping a mental tally of how days I’ve been in here. Though there’s no light in here, I can tell the days by the mealtimes. I sleep after I’m given dinner, and am woken up in the morning for breakfast.

Even while I’m here, I still have nightmares. And even though Joon is the one who brought and is keeping me here, he still appears in my dreams to haunt me. I do not understand why.

“Hey.” Joon said.

“Hey? That’s it?”

“Ye- yeah. I guess.”

“What do you want?” I sighed.

“You.”

“Get real.”

“No, you have something I want.” He said sincerely.

“Like what?”

“Power.”

“What kind of power?”

“Light.”

“L-light?”

“Yes.”

“What’s so special about ‘light’ for power?” I asked.

“Pureness.” He stated.

“Pure…ness?”

“Yes, pureness.”

“Wh…why do you need it?”

“Why do you think I need it?”

“I-I… don’t know..”

“Ugh, you’re so ignorant. I need it to purify myself.”

“Purify yourself?”

“For my bad deeds.”

“Oh.”

“Exactly. Right now I’m as dirty as mud. Now you, you’re light. Clear, bright and, well, pure.”

“That’s the first time I’ve heard you say anything somewhat nice since I’ve seen you here.” I said, and rolled my eyes.

“Oh, yeah, thanks.” He said sarcastically.

“How do you.. use.. this.. this light power?”

“I can’t use it. You have to use it.”

“How?”

Joon sighed and shook his head.

“You have to wake up your power.”

“Again… how?”

“Aish, do I have to teach you everything?!” Joon shouted in frustration.

“I… I’m sorry..but.. Yes?”

“That was a rhetorical question. Let’s go. Time to learn.”

‘I.. I can’t. I’m stuck here.”

“Oh… yeah. Forgot about that.”

Joon came over and unlocked the cuffs and helped me stand up. I rubbed my wrists; they hurt from being locked up so long, Joon held his hand out to me, and I hesitantly grabbed it.

“Now, we can go. Are you ready for it?” he smiled.

“Can I even say no?”

“Nope! So let’s go!”
