You woke up and noticed that you were sleeping on a couch. You looked around and saw the familiar furniture around you. 

Baekhyun's house.

You pushed yourself up and looked around your surroundings, rubbing your eyes.

"You finally woke up?"

You looked up. It was Kai. He was relaxing on the other couch opposite you, eating some chips and watching TV. You didn't bother answering him and made your way to the restroom. You saw a note on the sink saying "This is your brush. -Baekhyun." You smiled a bit at his act of kindness.

After washing up, you walked back to the living room and smelled the scent of delicious food. You didn't see Kai anywhere, so you peered in carefully, making sure it wasn't him in there.

"Oh, you woke up?" Baekhyun asked while staring at the pan.

You nodded and tippy toed to see what he was cooking. Bacon.

"Do you need help?" You offered.

"I do," Kai interrupted, walking into the kitchen before Baekhyun could answer.

You stared at him with a frown and turned away, standing next to Baekhyun again, pretending to be interested in what he was cooking.

"Are you deaf? I said I need help," Kai repeated as he walked out to the living room again. You continued to ignore him and watched Baekhyun. You still haven't gotten over how he yelled at you a couple of days ago, and his threat. You were too scared to talk to him, you didn't want to get hurt again. 

"Baekhyun, shouldn't she at least do something around the house, since she's living here for FREE and taking up SPACE," Kai emphasized. "While I PAY."

You gave a small frown but knew he was right.  Ugh.. 

You awkwardly walked to him. "Y-Yes?" You asked shyly.

"Go get a bowl of rice and bacon." He ordered rudely. You scorned at him and stomped your way to the kitchen. 

"Don't mind him too much. You don't have to do everything he tells you," Baekhyun reassured you. He was kinda pissed at the way Kai was acting towards you. If Kai had known what you've been through for the last couple of days, he was pretty sure he would treat you like that, Baekhyun thought.

Baekhyun asked you to help set the table and you were more than delightful to help him out.

"Hey maid! Where's my food huh?"

When you heard the word 'maid', you tensed up a bit. I'm not here to be your maid you . But you just ignored his command and slammed the bowl of rice down hard on the table .

"Here you go , master ." You gave him a fake smile and sauntered off . Kai raised an eyebrow at you.

What the .. since when did she get that kind of attitude with me? Tch, stupid girl.

Baekhyun noticed that you were a bit angry, so he stood up for you. He walked into the living room and snatched the bowl of rice away from Kai's hand and dumped it into the trashbin.

"Hey what the-"

"Why don't you get your down here and eat with us or go get it yourself. I swear, you've been such a lazyass lately. She's not your maid. She's my guest."

Kai looked a bit shocked, but he immediately regained his cool and stood up, staring down at Baekhyun.  "She's  a witch. Look what she influenced you to say. You never cared for any girl besides Yoomi, so why are you standing up for her huh? What, are you cheating on her now? With the maid?"

Baekhyun could have punched Kai right in the face, but he held it back because he didn't want to show any violence with you in the house. He just clenched his fist and turned around.

"Hurry up and eat, I have to go soon."

You awkwardly sat next to Baekhyun after they both returned back into the dining room and ate quietly. No one talked and you could feel the tensed atmosphere.

I just want to be back home right now.. with appa. I don't belong here.

"How's Sumi?" Baekhyun asked and broke the silence.

Kai stopped eating and shrugged. You stared at Kai and noticed that his facial expression looked cold and indifferent, but you were sure you could see a glint of sadness in his eyes.

After breakfast, you helped clean up and Baekhyun left.

"Kai, be nice." Baekhyun said as he exited the door.

"Wait! Where are you going?" You asked. 

"Just ... the store. I'll be back quick." He gave you a short wink and slammed the door shut.

Instead of helping you clean up, Kai stood there and watched you as you gathered up the empty plates and threw the trash away.

"Aren't you going to help at all?" You piled up the dishes to the sink.

"No," He gave you a blunt answer. You shook your head. Should have known. Why do I even bother asking.

After washing the dishes by yourself, you noticed that Kai wasn't watching you anymore. While walking out of the kitchen, you didn't see a wet spot and slipped. While falling down, you tried holding on to the cabinets, but that only made it worse because you knocked everything over.

Kai heard a ruckus and rushed down to see you painful trying to get up. He couldn't help but burst out laughing. You were covered in seasoning sauce.

"Someone's gonna have to clean that up.Tch, lazy maid." Kai mocked and ran back to where he was before.

Aish! You cursed in your head.

You wet a towel and started wiping the floor. Each motion you made, you made sure to curse.

"Stupid Kai." "Why do I even have to live here?" "Doesn't he have a heart?" "Ughh!! Stupid. Babo. Idiot. Perfect. Freaking perfect. The stupid guy who thinks he's soooo perfect!" You grumbled and made punching movements as if to hit his face.

"Oh, so you think I'm perfect now huh?" Kai popped out of nowhere, his voice velvety smooth.

You jumped surprised and accidentally smacked him the face with the towel that was dirtied with seasoning sauce and dirt. He made a sound and fell back, clutching his face and trying to wipe it off. You didn't know why, but you started laughing. He gave you a glare.

What a diva. You thought.

He crawled closer to you and you automatically stopped laughing. He leaned closer to you and you couldn't help but blush and step back. When you hit the wall, you made sure to not make eye contact with him. You tried moving to the left, but he blocked your way. You tried the right, but the same thing happened.

"Aish! What do you want?!" You yelled.

He didn't say anything but smirked. "Nothing~" He mocked and before he walked away, he made sure to give you the chills by brushing the bangs away from your face.

Ahhh!!! I'm going crazy! One moment he slapped me, hated me, and grudged on me to never show myself in front of him. Another moment, he stares at me and makes me go insane! What's his purpose?

After cleaning up, you decided to take a shower, but noticed that you didn't have any clothes to change.

Who can I ask. Baekhyun isn't home, but Kai is. But will he be that generous to let me borrow his clothes?

You walked to his room and knocked lightly on his door. He opened the door, and glared at you. 

"C-can I...borrow...ahh nevermind forget it." You turned and walked away. He shrugged and closed the door again. You walked back and forth down the hall, trying to think of a plan. After a few minutes when you had no choice but to ask Kai again, Kai walked out of his room with clothes in his hand. He walked towards you and for a second, you thought he was going to hand you the clothes, but he walked right through the bathroom.

What was I even thinking...? Yeah ______, like he would definitely give you some clothes. You thought Kai was going to take a shower, but he left the restroom really quick. You noticed that he didn't have any clothes in his hand, so you walked in the restroom to see an outfit on the counter.

You smiled and jumped up and down in joy. He did care after all. Thanks...Kai...
