Hearts are Made to be Broken
♥ Hoya ♥
I push open the door and find a really messy room. Colorful balloons are everywhere, there are various decorations here and there, and the two people are bickering again.
As always.
"Of course white is the best!" Sunggyu puts the white ribbon at the edge of the table. "It's an engagement party!"
"But red is his favorite color!" Eunye takes off the ribbon and puts the red ribbon in exchange. "I have agreed with you for the white roses so you must agree with mine this time."
Sunggyu drops his jaw in disbelief. He turns around and grabs the white balloon on the floor, mumbling with unsatisfied expression. He was going to tie three balloons together with a ribbon when Eunye interrupts his activity, "White balloon? Seriously?"
"Not again," Sunggyu groans in protest. He opens his mouth to protest but he finally notices my presence. He sighs in relief when he looks at me, "Finally! Hoya!"
I wave to him casually, knowing that Eunye is going to run to me afterwards. This kind of thing happens almost everyday that I get used to it perfectly now.
"Hoya!" Eunye ruses to my side and shows me a red balloon. She pouts cutely, "Red balloon is the best, right?"
"Of course it's white," Sunggyu chirps in, raising his eyebrow. He crosses his arms and gives me a demanding look. "Right, Hoya?"
I ruffle Eunye's hair and smile to her, "You should ask Woohyun and Hyuna, not me. Besides why do you two need to make the room looks like a ship wreck in a day?"
One year has passed since Eunye's accident. She recovered pretty fast and returned to teach in no time. We continue to live happily, in our own ways.
Woohyun will be officially engaged to Hyuna tomorrow and both Eunye with Sunggyu help them with the decoration for the private party. I wonder why Woohyun decided it when he knows perfectly both of them never stop arguing.
The only person who can stop them is Bora but she is busy with her work today so she will come later at night. Woohyun and Hyuna are out for a while and I just returned from school.
Sunggyu is the most shocked one, saying that he is older than Woohyun yet he is engaged before him. He made Woohyun to promise him for a treat in a luxurious restaurant before the engagement party.
Ever since I became an official couple with Eunye, I've became best friends with Sunggyu and Woohyun and it goes the same for Eunye with Bora and Hyuna.
"Let's just call Bora Unnie," Eunye sticks her tongue out at Sunggyu. Sunggyu doesn't agree with her and they end up fighting each other with balloons in their hands.
"Yah! I'm a girl here!" Eunye protests but Sunggyu just lets out a laughter. Eunye tries to defend herself without letting go of the balloon, making her way closer to me.
Before I can separate them, the balloons pop, bursting the flour inside. The flour hits my face with no mercy and they finally stop with apologetic expression.
"H-Hoya!" Eunye gasps and holds her laughter. "I-I'm sorry. We are going to play some game later on the show so... You look really funny!"
Both of them end up laughing together instead of helping me to clean the flour. I flew my bang and raise my eyebrow at them, "Choi Eunye, Kim Sunggyu. You better clean up the mess before Woohyun and Hyuna come."
They straighten their bodies and grin playfully, "Yes, Sir!"
Sunggyu turns around to gather the balloons while Eunye helps to clean my face with her handkerchief.
"You are really a tease," I pinch her nose and give her a quick peck on lips, making her to blush madly. "Let's have dinner before I walk you back, okay?"
She nods with a shy but sweet smile, the one that always reminds me how special she is for me...
...and how lucky I am to have her.

♥ Eunye ♥
"Ah, I'm tired," I stretch out my arms and throw myself on the sofa. "Sunggyu is seriously stingy today!"
Hoya just smiles as he takes off his shoes. He sits next to me, putting the box of cake on the table, "At least you can have the Opera Cake tonight."
"Yes!" I hum and reach out my hand to open the box so I can eat my favorite cake. "Let's ea-"
Hoya catches my hands, stopping me from grabbing the sweet, "Not now."
"Eh?" I puff my cheeks. "Why? I haven't drunk any coffee today!"
"I know," he pinches my cheeks and laughs again. "At least wash your face first. Tomorrow is an important day. Go, go."
I nod and tell him to get some drink first while I go to my room to get my towel. I take off the silver ring on my finger, putting it carefully back to its box.
It's a birthday present from Hoya last year, the one he didn't give to me when we're in London. I didn't tell him that I know he asked my younger brothers to buy it in States.
It's a ring with my name engraved under it. It's a special edition where my name can be written in both hangul and latin letters. This is one of my treasures in life.
Within a year, there are so many things have happened but nothing can change the fact that I am happy with Hoya. Everyday just feels better whenever I'm with him.
Meanwhile Sunggyu is still with Bora and I'm glad they are still together. Even though I bicker a lot with Sunggyu, I really think they're meant to be together.
As for Woohyun and Hyuna, I'm glad Woohyun could move on from his feeling for me. He was so close with Hyuna and they finally got together after three months or so.
When he told me that he proposed to Hyuna, I was really happy. I'm glad the wish that I made to the wishing fountain came true; Woohyun found his own happiness.
"Ah, Hoya, do you want to-" I stop my steps when I find Hoya has fallen asleep on the sofa. The box is half opened but I guess I took my time too long in the bathroom.
I kneel next to him and move away his bang carefully, making sure that he will not wake up, "You must be really tired..."
"I am, my lady," he suddenly grabs my hand. He opens his eyes and smiles. "That's why I'm here with you."
Hoya caresses my cheek and I can't help but to smile back at him, "Are you happy, Eunye?"
"Why shouldn't I?" I chuckle as I take a seat next to him. I rest my head on his shoulder, letting him to lean closer to me. "Aren't you?"
"I just remember that I've broken your heart before," he kisses my hair. "And I just feel sorry whenever I remember it."
"You did break my heart. You did make me believe that hearts were made to be broken," I shift slightly to look at his eyes. "But you also taught me something."
I whisper to him the words I believe in since we're together before we share a kiss.
"You make me believe that hearts are made to be loved."
