The next day, the students were busy preparing for the culminating program to be held on their last day..

“Hey, Kyuhyun-ssi” Changmin said. “I’ll help you with that”

“Oh, thanks. Just pile those CD’s over there for the music” Kyuhyun said as he was doing something in his laptop

“Kyuhyun-ssi, we are starting to build the little outdoor stage, would you look at it for a bit and instruct us what to do?” Ryeowook said

“Hmm, I’ll be there in a minute.” Kyuhyun said

“You’re really great, Kyuhyun-ssi” Changmin exclaimed. “It seems like you are the overall leader for the work of the guys. Won’t you be too exhausted if you have to oversee everything?”

“Like I have a choice.” Kyuhyun answered coldly

“You’re right. There are only a few guys who you can really count on. Don’t worry, I’ll help as much as possible” Changmin said

“Deh”

At where the outdoor stage was…

“Alright I got it” Siwon said as Kyuhyun instructed them what to do.

“Be sure to fasten all the ropes tightly or else it may cause accidents. If you have questions, I’ll just be in that corner” Kyuhyun pointed where his laptop was

Siwon nodded and Kyuhyun got back on his work.

“Kyuhyun-ssi” Jaejoong called

“What do you want?” Kyuhyun asked in a pissed tone.

“I’ll never let you off so easily” Jaejoong said

“Do what you like, insignificant boy” Kyuhyun said nonchalantly and continued typing on his laptop

“Yah!! I’m not an insignificant boy!” Jaejoong debated

“Yah, you two, what are you bickering so early in the morning?” Seohyun asked

“Seohyun-ah. You’re here” Jaejoong said

“I came to see how everything is going on” Seohyun said

“Everything is doing fine” Kyuhyun answered still not taking his eyes off his laptop’s screen.

“Prez, Kyuhyun-ssi has been supervising everything, so don’t worry” Changmin said

“You really do enjoy giving me a lot of errands, Prez” Kyuhyun said sarcastically

“Rather than playing around, it is better to make yourself useful, Kyu” Seohyun answered.

“But don’t you think it’s a bit too much for him Prez?” Changmin asked

Seohyun grabbed Changmin and whispered, “Yea, I know. But I could not count on anybody else. Besides, the guys listen to him. I want to help but we were assigned to some other stuff, so I’ll depend on you to help him for me, okay?”

“Ah, okay Prez!!” Changmin said

“Yah!!What are you whispering at each other?” Kyuhyun asked annoyed

“N-Nothing!” Changmin said

“I’ll see you guys later then” Seohyun said goodbye

“Deh” Changmin and Jaejoong said

Meanwhile, the Pabo trio was doing their work on the backstage.

“There everything is set” KangIn said as he finished his work.

“Hey, KangIn, what should we do about this rope?” Yesung asked while holding the hanging rope

“I don’t know. What did Siwon tell you?” KangIn asked

“He said to secure all of them” Yesung answered.

“I think that rope is for the opening of the curtain” Eunhyuk said

Yesung tugged on the rope to verify what Eunhyuk said. “But there is no curtain going up nor down. Is there really going to be a curtain? I have not heard about it from Siwon-ssi”

“Of course, there is. How can you have a stage without a curtain? Maybe, they haven’t put it up yet” Eunhyuk said

“Pabo, curtains are for theater performances” KangIn said

“Of course not. There won’t be an element of surprise if there is no curtain” Eunhyuk insisted

“Oh, okay!” Yesung said. “Then I’ll just leave it hanging here.”

Then night came..

“Our second day ended up without any major trouble.” a teacher said. “Tomorrow, on the last day, we will see the result of what you have prepared for today.”

“Deh!” the students answered

“Okay, you may now go to your sleeping quarters” the teacher said. “By the way, I want to talk to the committee heads for a bit.”

All of the students went back to their quarters except for the students who were designated to be committee heads.

“Is everybody here already?” the teacher asked

“Deh, sonsaengnim”

“I just want to ask about the preparations in your committees.” the teacher said

“Our committee is done preparing everything” Sooyoung said. “We are incharge of the BBQ party after the program

“Our committee is incharge of the children. They are very excited to perform what they have been practicing all day so no problem for us sonsaengnim” Yuri said

“The student Council officers are in charge for the overall program tomorrow so no problems as of now, sonsaengnim.” Seohyun reported

“How about the physical preparations committee?” the teacher asked

“The preparations are almost done. We only have to do some minor things tomorrow.”Ryeowook said. “We also asked Kyuhyun-ssi to oversee everything. He said he will try to finish everything tonight.”

“Oh okay. Be sure to help him.”

“Deh!! Siwon-ssi is helping him right now.” Ryeowook answered

“Okay, then, you are dismissed!”

Meanwhile…

Along the hallway..

“Kyuhyun-ssi” Siwon said. “Are you sure you don’t need help already? Ryeowook-ssi told me to help you”

“Yeah, I’ll be alright.” Kyuhyun answered while walking. Besides, I do everything better when I’m alone. Kyuhyun thought. He was just being polite to Siwon since he offered to help him.

“Alright. Ask me if you need anything” Siwon said as he walked towards the opposite direction.

“Uhmm” Kyuhyun agreed.

As soon as Siwon was out of sight..

“Cho Kyuhyun!!” Jaejoong called

Kyuhyun let out a very heavy sigh before speaking to the guy. “What do you want this time, insignificant boy?”

“It’s Kim Jaejoong, not insignificant boy.” Jaejoong spat.

“So what now?” Kyuhyun asked. “I’ve got still many things to do. So if you could excuse me—”

“Not until you answer my question” JAejoong said

“Yah!!” they suddenly heard someone and looked at who that was

Seohyun.

“What is up to you two since this morning?” Seohyun scolded the two guys. “Quit fighting everytime you see each other!!”

“We are not fighting!” Jaejoong answered. “This is a showdown between men, right Kyuhyun-ssi?”

 “I agree insignificant boy” Kyuhyun said nonchalantly.

“Yah!! I said stop calling me like that! It’s Jaejoong. Kim Jaejoong!!”

“What? Was that your name, insignificant boy?” Kyuhyun said with a smirk

“I’m not an insignificant boy!”

“Then, you’re an annoying extrovert boy!” Kyuhyun continued to tease

“That’s wrong too!!”

Because Seohyun could not stop the two, her patience snapped and gave them a hard smack on their heads. “SHUT UP AND REFLECT ON WHAT YOU’VE DONE!! YOU CAN’T GO TO YOUR QUARTERS UNTIL 10:30 PM AS YOUR PUNISHMENT.” Seohyun said and left the two outside the sleeping quarters.

“Gosh, those two, why do they waste their energy like that.” Seohyun murmured

10:00 pm..

Still outside the quarters were the two guys being bugged by mosquitoes..

“At this rate, I’ll get stung all over, and by tomorrow morning, I’ll be all puffy and look like someone else” Jaejoong complained as he scratched his arm.

“At least you get to hit your bed after 10:30 while I have to finish the undone things for tomorrow” Kyuhyun murmured inaudibly.

“Huh? Are you saying something?” Jaejoong asked

“Nothing” Kyuhyun answered

“Aren’t the mosquitoes bothering you, Kyuhyun-ssi?” Jaejoong asked. “There are so many mosquitoes around”

“I’m only bothered and jealous of how popular you are, insignificant boy” Kyuhyun said

“Stop calling me insignificant boy!!” Jaejoong shouted

“If you’re noisy, Prez will yell at you again” Kyuhyun said

“Ahh, oh” Jaejoong said

A pause.

“Hey, Kyuhyun-ssi, do you love Seohyun?” Jaejoong asked. “More to the point..are you two dating?”

Kyuhyun avoided Jaejoong’s stare and kept quiet for a while. “If we were, we probably won’t be fighting like this” Kyuhyun answered poignantly. It was the first time that Kyuhyun, the mighty Cho Kyuhyun felt self-pity.

The next day..

Changmin looked at his friend who has been yawning for five times already.

“Kyuhyun-ssi, are you alright?” Changmin asked

Kyuhyun rubbed his eyes before answering, “Yeah, I’m fine” in a sleepy tone

“You finished the preparations last night didn’t you? And you barely had enough sleep.” Changmin said

“Uhhmm. Don’t worry!” Kyuhyun answered as he tapped the other guy’s shoulder. “Okay I’ll just go to the broadcast room. The program is about to start.”

Meanwhile…

Seohyun watched the little children go up the stage to perform what they have practiced. The children began to sing and dance with the music.

“Kyeopta!” Seohyun said. As she looked at the stage, she saw something wrong.

“Ryeowook-ssi” she called. “Look over there, the wooden board there seems a bit off”

“Is it?” Ryeowook asked. “I think we instructed everyone to secure all ropes.”

“Okay, I’ll just check it out just in case” Seohyun said and walked to the backstage.

Not far away..

“Yah, Eunhyuk-ah, you said there is a curtain, where is it now?” Yesung asked

“Maybe, they forgot to put it” Eunhyuk answeres

“Or could it be there really is no curtain?” KangIn said

“What?? How about the rope we did not tie yesterday? What is it supposed to be used to?” Yesung asked

“Ommo, it must be used to secure something!!” KangIn realized

And the three of them looked at the stage to find something that was a bit off. When they found it, a wooden board was slowly falling down towards the children.

The Pabo trio closed their eyes when they realized that the board would fall on the children but when they opened their eyes they were amazed that the board stopped from falling but was still inclined.

At the backstage..

Seohyun looked for something that could have been the reason why that wooden board was a bit off. She kept on looking until he found a rope freely hanging from somewhere. When she was about to grab it, the rope began to move upward and the wooden board started to fall.

Thinking swiftly, she grabbed on to the rope and prevented the board from falling to the children. As seconds passed by, the weight of the board felt heavier and heavier that in no time she felt she would not be able to hold on it any longer. Her face began to sweat and the rope started to slip from her grip.

Just at the moment when she felt she cannot hold on the rope any longer, she saw a hand pull on the rope dividing the burden she was bearing.

“Jaejoong!!” Seohyun exclaimed

“Seo, kwaenchana?” Jaejoong asked worriedly

Seohyun nodded. “Let’s pull this a bit!” she instructed

The two of them struggled to pull the weight. They were able to pull it up a bit but they still can’t reach to where they should secure it.

“Hey, what are you doing? Playing tug of war?” Kyuhyun asked amusingly

“Kyu” Seohyun said as they continued to struggle on the rope

“Kyuhyun-ssi!!” Jaejoong said

“Do you mind if I join in?” Kyuhyun asked sarcastically and began give a hand on the two

The three of them pulled the rope and stabilized the wooden board. Kyuhyun tied the rope on the nearby post to secure everything from falling again.

“So, did we win?” Kyuhyun asked playfully

Seohyun smiled and wiped the sweat that formed on her forehead. “Yeah! We win!!”

“Kyuhyun-ssi!” Siwon and Changmin called

“Prez!!” the Pabo trio also arrived

“Now..” Kyuhyun suddenly became serious. “..who did not securely fasten this rope?”

All the boys who were at the backstage earned a deathly glare from Kyuhyun. Siwon, Changmin and the Pabo trio felt a shiver down their spines. The five guys felt like they were going to be skinned alive. Besides, they won’t be able to do anything if Kyuhyun bursts into anger.

“I-I-I instructed everyone to secure all ropes like you said” Siwon stuttered. “B-B-But I don’t know why this one was not secured”

“Ah, really?” Kyuhyun asked sarcastically

“I-I’m telling the truth.” Siwon said. “Ahh, I remember now, I gave this task to Yesung-ssi, KAngIn-ssi and Eunhyuk-ssi”

Kyuhyun turned around. He looked towards the direction of the Pabo trio and saw them tiptoeing away.

“Eunhyuk-ssi, Yesung-ssi, KangIn-ssi..where are you going?” Kyuhyun asked sarcastically with a smirk.

The Pabo Trio turned slowly to face Kyuhyun. They were more scared on how Kyuhyun acted. He is scarier when he is not showing that he is really angry. The Pabo trio bowed to the ground and pleaded for their lives. Literally.

“Kyuhyun-ssi, forgive us!!” Yesung said still their faces on the ground. “It’s Eunhyuk’s fault, he said the rope was for the curtain so I did not tie it”

“Please spare our lives. We are really sorry!!” Eunhyuk said (A/N: lol. They are so scared. ^-^)

“We will be better next time!” KangIn added.

But Kyuhyun did not stop shooting deathly glares on them. “I would have forgiven you easily but I am not in the mood to do so for now” Kyuhyun said with sarcasm. He began to massage his fist and approached them slowly.

Siwon and Changmin tried to stop Kyuhyun but he was way stronger than the both of them. “ Kyuhyun-ssi, just let them off this time. They already said they are sorry” Siwon said

“Eunhyuk-ssi, Yesung-ssi and KangIn-ssi, I think you should run away for now” Changmin suggested. “Kyuhyun is not in his right mind at the moment.”

The Pabo trio looked at Seohyun waiting for her approval.

“Go!” Seohyun said

“Thank you, Prez” the Pabo trio stood up and bowed at them 90 degrees. “We’re really sorry” and off they go.

Kyuhyun heaved a big sigh when the Three disappeared already.

“Yah, Kyu, you don’t have to scare them like that!” Seohyun said

“He is just a bit tired Prez” Changmin answered for him. “He barely had enough sleep last night so he is really irritable this time.”

Seohyun felt guilty when she remembered punishing them last night.

“Don’t worry, I’m not blaming you Prez” Kyuhyun said as if reading Seohyun’s mind

“I-I’m not thinking about that” Seohyun denied. How can this guy read my mind?

“Something about the three changed when Kyuhyun-ssi scolded them.” Jaejoong said out of the blue

“That’s because he is respected by the other boys” Seohyun said

“Yeah, I noticed that during this Community Service Project” Jaejoong agreed. “You’re an amazing guy!”

“What’s amazing?” Kyuhyun asked

“What do you mean ‘What’s amazing’. Of course a lot of things” Jaejoong said. “I just thought you are amazing”

“You have a limited vocabulary, don’t you, insignificant boy?” Kyuhyun teased

“Stop calling me insignificant!!” Jaejoong answered.

Their bickering stopped when they heard Seohyun chuckle.

“What?” they both asked

“Don’t mind me” Seohyun answered still laughing

It was nearly dusk..

The program ended successfully and everybody was gathered in the hall for the after party BBQ time. But two people were not yet there at the moment.

Outside the quarters..

Kyuhyun was under a tree waiting for Seohyun..

“Huh? You’re still here?” Seohyun asked Kyuhyun

“Is that everything you have to say to me?” Kyuhyun questioned back. “Come here for a second”

Seohyun went to where Kyuhyun was.

“What?” she asked and leaned her body against the tree’s trunk

Kyuhyun went in front of her to face her. “They were fighting a lot, but they might actually be able to get along pretty well.” Kyuhyun said “That’s what you were probably thinking, weren’t you?”

“What’s wrong? I told you not to mind me” Seohyun said

“You must have kept dodging his questions like that too” Kyuhyun said and leaned closer to her so that their faces were just several inches away. “Seo, is he something special to you?” he asked

Seohyun felt awkward at their proximity so she avoided his eyes and looked down on her feet instead. “S-Special?” she stuttered. “Not really. It’s true that being a childhood friend, I’ve known him longer than any other boys..”

“Do you care about him so much that you find yourself looking at him out of the corner of your eyes?” Kyuhyun pressed on.

Seohyun looked up to him. “When exactly did I do that—??!!”

“I don’t know!” Kyuhyun eased in a little bit closer to her face again. “Maybe all the time?” he asked sarcastically. “You seemed to be concerned about him”

Seohyun felt uncomfortable on their closeness so she pushed him a bit. If she did not do that, she was worried that Kyuhyun might hear how loud her heart was thumping right now. “O-Of course I’m concerned. He is always causing troubles.” Seohyun said. “He is a big problem.” she paused. “..but you’re a much bigger problem, Cho Kyuhyun!”

Kyuhyun saw Seohyun blush the moment she said those words. He smiled seeing her like that. He moved closer until all his weight was on the lady in front of him.

“Kyu..you’re heavy” Seohyun said

Kyuhyun lifted his hand and supported himself by holding on to the tree trunk. “Mian, I’m already on my limit. Thanks to him, I’m totally out of energy” he said

As soon as he said those, he slumped on the ground and leaned his back on the tree. Seohyun released a soft chuckle.

Kyuhyun closed his eyes for he felt them become heavy. “What are you laughing at?” he asked

Seohyun sat down to his level. “Nothing. It’s Barbeque time. You should be hungry now so better hurry and—”

“Impossible” he cut her. “I cannot move for a while.”

“If you’re not coming, I will leave you here” Seohyun said

Kyuhyun immediately opened his eyes. He grabbed Seohyun by the hand and let her sit beside him. “Stay for a while.” Kyuhyun said still holding tightly on her wrist

“Yah, we’ll starve to death if we don’t go there alread—”Seohyun was cut when she felt the weight of Kyuhyun’s head on her shoulders. The guy was sound asleep.

She looked at the guy beside her. He seemed so peaceful. 

This is the least thing I could do for you after all.

She smiled at the sleeping figure beside her. “Goodnight, Kyu”
