Monday, 8:30 pm at Maid Latte..

“Finally, we have accumulated enough points to challenge Seohyun-ssi again for a card game” KangIn beamed

“Really?” Eunhyuk asked. “Now, we’ll be able to take a commemorative photo with her”

“That’s right, we’ve waited and practiced hard for this moment” Yesung added

“Alright! I better get ready now” Eunhyuk said

“Wait! Who told you you’d be the one to challenge her?” KangIn asked sarcastically

“Wae?” Eunhyuk asked. “It can’t be one of you two. You’re worse than me.”

“Yah!!” KangIn said annoyed. “The last time we sent you, you did not even throw one card”

“That’s right” Yesung agreed. “So today, It’s my time to shine”

“Ani. I’ll be the one” KangIn interrupted

“Ah, wae?” YEsung asked

“You’re hands are too small to play speed” KangIn answered

“What does it have to do with playing cards?” YEsung innocently mumbled

“Excuse me Masters” Yoona interrupted. “Who among the maids would you want to challenge this time?”

“Seohyun-ssi, please” the three of them chorused

“Alright, I’ll just call Seohyun-ssi” Yoona said

Meanwhile, at Maid Latte’s kitchen..

Kyuhyun worked as a substitute kitchen staff again.

“Kyuhyun-ssi, I heard the Pabo Trio will challenge Seo again” Taeyeon informed

“Is that so?” Kyuhyun asked without any hint of interest

“Yeah” Taeyeon answered. “It seems like you’re not a bit worried for Seo”

“It’s not like that, manager.” Kyuhyun defended. “It’s just that there is nothing to worry about. Even Seo is not a bit anxious about it” he said while looking at Seo from a distance. “And she is far better than any of those three” he added

“”You’re right! No one has won over her.” Taeyeon said. “Ah, ani, you’re the only one who made it through her”

Kyuhyun smiled. “I’ll take that as a compliment then, manager”

Taeyeon giggled. “Alright, aren’t you going to watch the game?”

“There’s no need. It’s quite busy here in the kitchen. Besides, I know the result already” Kyuhyun replied

“You seem confident” Taeyeon said. “It looks like you’ve known Seo better. Then, I’ll go ahead first and facilitate the game”

Kyuhyun nodded.

Back to the Pabo Trio…

“What game would it be this time, Master?” Seohyun asked

“Speed, please” KangIn said

“Alright”

Seohyun then shuffled the cards and the game started. After a while..

Dejavu..It was the same as what happened the last time the Pabo Trio challenged Seohyun

“We lost again” Yesung said

“Better luck next time, Masters” Yoona said

“Please, do accumulate enough points to challenge Seohyun-ssi again” Taeyeon said

At closing time…

Seohyun entered the locker room with a rather annoyed look..

“Hey Seo, I thought you won the game?” Kyuhyun asked

“I did”

“Then why do you have that kind of expression? Is that the face of someone who just came out from victory?” Kyuhyun asked

“I’m just annoyed. Those three just don’t know how to give up” Seohyun answered

Kyuhyun smiled and mumbled softly, “That’s why you should be a bit nicer to them”

“What are you mumbling at?” Seohyun asked

“Ah, ani” Kyuhyun answered then ruffled Seohyun’s hair. “I said good work for today”

“Hey, don’t mess my hair” Seohyun said

“By the way, something important came up so I need to go first” Kyuhyun informed

Seohyun felt a bit disappointed but she tried to look like she didn’t care anyway. “Then go. It’s not like you have to tell me”

“Can you manage to go home alone?” Kyuhyun now asked in a worried tone

“What’s with that question? Of course I can. I’ve been doing it alone for two years until you came and insisted on accompanying me” Seohyun said a bit annoyed

“Hahaha. Right” he said as he scratched the back of his head. “I’ll go first then” and he dashed out of the locker room. On his way out he met Yoona and Tiffany

“Kyuhyun-ssi, you’re going already?” Yoona asked

“Deh”

“Aren’t you going to wait for Seohyun?”

“Something really important came up so I can’t this time” he answered. “And kindly tell manager I knocked off first”

“Okay” Hyoyeon answered

“Kamsahamnida” he said then bowed 90 degrees before leaving

Later…

Taeyeon called for a meeting..

“Where’s Kyuhyun-ssi?” Taeyeon asked when she noticed Kyuhyun was missing

“He knocked off already. He said something important came up” Yoona answered.

“Alright” Taeyeon said. “By the way, my sister invited us in her beach house this summer. She was wondering if we could go and see the place. She’s planning to open there for business”

“Beach?” Seohyun asked excitedly. “That would be ths best thing to do for the summer break”

“That would be fun” Yoona said

“I haven’t gone on the beach for a long time already so that would be great” Tiffany said

“It’s all agreed then” Taeyeon exclaimed

The next day at Dongguk High..

YOONA’S POV

I looked around and saw that everybody has become busy. Even our class became busy preparing for the upcoming School Festival.

I wonder how Hae is doing right now. Eventhough we are as busy as this, the Student Council must have been busier.

I was interrupted from my thoughts when my classmate called for me. “Yoona-ssi, could you carry that box over here?”

“Yeah, sure” I said and immediately carried the box.

I’m glad I don’t have work today. I’ll be able to help my class a bit longer.

7:15 pm..

The preparation of Yoona’s class took a bit longer. It was already dark and the school was already deserted.

“Ahhh, so tired. Finally it’s done” Yoona’s classmate whined

“I can’t wait to hit my bed and journey to dreamland” Yoona’s friend said

“Me too” Yoona agreed. She reached on her pocket to get her phone but it was missing. “Oh?” she said and tried to look inside her bag.

“What’s wrong?” her friend asked. “Did you forget something?”

“My handphone” Yoona said. “I guess I left it in our classroom. Just go ahead without me. Mister Shin will be here in a while”

“Okay, bye. See you tomorrow” they said to her

“Ye, bye”

Yoona went back to their classroom and found her phone on the table. Ahter retrieving her phone, she hurriedly went out of the room. She was about to call Mr. Shin when she saw the lights of the SC Office still on.

“Oh? They haven’t gone home yet?” she said as she peeked on the door. She saw Donghae leaning on the chair’s backrest and his arm covering his eyes. “Knock, Knock” Yoona said

Donghae immediately sat erect and said, “Ah, Yoong it’s you. Why are you still here?”

“I left my phone in our classroom so I came to get it back. On my way out, I saw the lights still on so I came to see if someone is still here” Yoona said

“Ahh”

“It seems like the SC has still lots of works to do” Yoona said

“Yeah”

“So you’re not going home yet?”

“I am. I just finished the paper works but I felt tired so I decided to rest a bit before driving home” Donghae answered

In the midst of their conversation, they heard a grumbling sound..

“Eh? What’s that?” Yoona asked

“I-It’s my stomach” Donghae said with a slight blush while patting his belly.

“Yoona laughed and thought of a bright idea. “Kaja!!”

“Odi?” Donghae asked

“Just come”  she said and dragged Donghae

They ended up in a children’s playground near their school. “Wait for me here” Yoona said. Before Donghae could even ask, Yoona already dashed off somewhere. Donghae sat on the swing and waited for his fiancé. After a while..

“Here” Yoona said while offering Donghae an ice cream.

“You dragged me here to eat an ice cream?”

“Wae? You don’t like?” Yoona asked back. “Then I’ll just eat it—”

“Ani” Donghae objected and grabbed the ice cream from Yoona’s hand. “It’s strawberry, right?”

Yoona nodded.

Donghae was eating his ice cream happily…

“I never thought you’d be this serious with Student Council works” Yoona said

“What do you mean?”

“I thought you just wanted to get popular so you entered the Student Council”

Donghae smiled. “That’s what most people thought. You know, my Appa is very strict. He wants me to learn how to manage things that’s why he told me to enter the Student Council. Besides that, I’m really serious being the Prez. It’s my way of proving to Appa that I can be depended on.”

“So, you also have this side of you, huh?” Yoona said

“Uhuumm” Donghae said

“But you also have a bad side you know” Yoona informed

“What?”

“Being a player”

“It was just my way of finding someone who could actually not be blinded by my status and influence” Donghae answered

“Eventhough you have a good reason, that won’t give you the right to play with other people especially girls at that” Yoona said

“Arayo” Donghe agreed. “That maybe is the reason why I was punished and thought a lesson in a harsh way. Destiny allowed me to meet a girl who could actually hurt my pride to even shake me from the principles I was taught from young. But I also thank her because I regained a better view towards life and other people”

“Wow!!” Yoona exclaimed. “I want to meet that kind of person. She really is brave to be able to face you straight on, isn’t she?”

“De..” Donghae answered. He looked at his watch and said, “It’s getting late already. I’ll drive you home”

“You don’t have to. I’ll just call our butler to come pick me up. Besides, you said you were tired”

“It’s alright. I do insist to drive you home. It’s the least thing I could do for you for treating me for an ice cream” Donghae said

Yoona smiled and said “If you really insist, then alright”

At Kyuhyun’s apartment..

Kyuhyun just arrived home. He fished for the key of his apartment in his bag. He opened the door and saw a white envelope on the floor. He hurriedly picked it up and read the words written on the envelope..

To: Cho Kyuhyun

His heart began to race. The last time he got a letter like this was when he was in 1st grade of middle school. He plopped on the sofa and nervously opened the letter. He looked at how the words were carefully written and recognized it.

He started to read the letter..

KYUHYUN’S POV

I began to read the letter..

How have you been lately? Kyuhyun-ah..

When I read the word‘Kyuhyun-ah’, my emotions exploded. I felt like the person who wrote the letter was actually calling me. It’s been a long time since I’ve been called ‘Kyuhyun-ah’. How I missed being called like that. It made me feel like I wasn’t alone. These past years had been very hard for me- Living desperately for myself without company.

I wanted to finish reading the letter quickly but my eyesight began to blur. On what I can see, the words turned into illegible spatters of black ink. Then I felt warm liquid endlessly flowing from my eyes. I did not know that I was already crying. The tears trickled on the piece of paper I was holding slowly wetting it. I wiped my tears but it did not stop.

“Yah! Stop that!” I said to my non-stop tear-producing eyes. “It has been a long time. Let me read the letter”

But it was no use. My eyes did not listen to my self-hypnosis. That’s the time I gave up reading the letter for the moment. I leaned my head on the chair’s backrest then closed my eyes. I could still feel the warm fluid flowing constantly. I held the letter near my heart.I was happy, specially happy.

“Bogoshipo..”

Then in just a few moments I was lulled to sleep still even with those tears.
