KYUHYUN’S POV

I just got home from school. I’ve got a confession from a girl again. It’s kind of tiring hearing the same words every day. I’m beginning to get annoyed with words like

I like you

Would you go out with me?

Can we date oppa?..and other sorts like that. What’s happening with all the girls in the world?

Sigh..I sat at the couch and massaged my temples.

 I have always lived in an apartment alone. It’s not that I’ve been alone for my entire life. It was a long story and I don’t want to recall what happened in the past.

I looked at the pendant that always hung freely on my neck. It was a ring fastened into a piece of string made into a pendant. I don’t remember where it came from but I think it’s something special. It may have something to do about my past. It’s strange that I can’t remember something about it but I always have a peaceful feeling when I look at it.

Growl.

“Oops, I think I’m hungry now.”

After eating his dinner, Kyuhyun decided to go somewhere to relieve stress. Although it was somewhat late, he still went because he really needed a change of atmosphere. He went to a nearby town near Seoul. While he was walking, he saw a girl in maid uniform coming out of the backdoor of a cafe. He continued walking while still looking at the girl. The girl seemed familiar. Then, when he passed by infront of her, she was surprised to see someone he knew.

“…if someone from school was to see me like this….” The girl said

“Wow, what a surprise. Isn’t it the pres?” he uttered. He saw the shock written all over their SC President’s face. She just stood out there completely frozen while he continued walking away.

KYUHYUN’S POV

“Is that really Seo Joo Hyun? The SC pres? But why is she here?” I asked myself

I turned around the corner and went to see the name of the Café. It’s Maid Latte..

Later that night..

At the café’s backdoor…

Clink…Seohyun turned the knob of the backdoor and stepped out of the café.

“Oh, you are normally dressed now”

Seohyun was shocked when she saw Kyuhyun leaning on the wall opposite the backdoor of the café.

“wh..What? What do you want?” she asked very startled

“Eh? Nothing, really, I just wanted to make sure. Hmmm so, that maid really was the Prez! Why are you working in a place like this?” he asked

“I’ll be off then Taeyeon ssi”, “Deh kamsahamnida” Seohyun and Kyuhyun heard voices from the café

“Let’s talk about this somewhere else” Seohyun grabbed Kyuhyun’s arms

“huh?”

“Just shut up and follow me.”

In a nearby children’s park..

“So, family reasons eh?” Kyuhyun said without looking at her. “Are things that rough that you have to work in a café in a neighboring town? Couldn’t you have done physical labor nearer home instead?” He asked

“I don’t have enough stamina. Being the Student Council President, I can’t allow my grades to drop and I also have the council work. I can’t manage both.” Seohyun answered

“Wow that must be tough. So the reason you went to Seoul High despite hating guys so much is because  the tuition is low?” kyuhyun asked again

“I guess” she looked at the night sky

“My sympathies.”  He said

SEOHYUN’S POV

“Why do I have to explain to him? We’re not even friends and he’s a GUY. I really hate them. He’s like other boys that are annoying and most of all he is one of the type of guys that I really hate the most..guys that make girls cry. Hmmft..What if he spreads it in the campus? I’m so dead..what a luck Seo Joo Hyun..I’ve got a rough road ahead of me.”

The next morning while Seohyun was doing her daily patrolling at the corridors..

“ do you know what I made yesterday…” a student said

“Maid?” Seohyun asked and glared at the student

“I was asking him if he knew what I made yesterday during art class” the student fearfully replied

“Ah made” she smiled then continued walking

“you know the shirt made in Japan…”  another student said

“Maid?” SEohyun again glared at the two

“I said the shirt that I bought that was made in Japan doesn’t fit me” the student nervously answered

“ah made in Japan” she said

“ehhh? Are we doing something wrong?” the two asked Seohyun

“ani” she said casually.

SEOHYUN’S POV

This is really bad. I overreact when I hear something that sounds like the word ‘maid’. But it is strange that no one has known about it yet. That CHO KYUHYUN, is he planning of using it to blackmail me..or perhaps he feels sympathetic. Although I don’t want being pitied upon, this would be for the best.

While I was lost in my train of thoughts..

“Seohyun-ah” my two friends called me.

“Yuri, Sooyoung, what’s the problem?” I asked

“Could you do us a favor?” Yuri asked

What is it?”

“Could you help us tidy up the grounds? Our flower arrangement club used it a while ago and we need extra help to put things away.” Sooyoung said

“ Okay I’ll help you”

After cleaning the grounds..

“Seohyun, thanks for helping us out” Yuri thanked

“Oh it’s nothing. I’m happy to help you”

“As a token of our appreciation, I’ll give you this flower.” Sooyoung gave a flower to Seohyun

“Kamsahamnida” then Seohyun smiled brightly

Not far away someone was watching them.

“She’s pretty when she smiles” Kyuhyun said

“oh isn’t that Kyuhyun ssi?” Yuri noticed the guy watching them

“What are you looking at?” Seohyun irritatingly asked

Kyuhyun smirked

“Yah! What’s that suppose to mean?”

“Kyuhyun-ssi is so cool” Yuri praised. “I heard he was practicing Shorinji Kempo up through middle school and people say he’s really strong. All guys in the school look up to him and his grades are also consistently excellent. And in addition to that, he’s way sooo handsome.”

“ I heard she’s not interested in girls anymore because she’s so popular. But girls still confess to her” Sooyoung added

‘Kraeso, maybe he doesn’t really care about the maid thing because he is not interested at all’ Seohyun mentally noted.

“Then that would be a relief” Seohyun said loudly

“Huh? What were you saying Seohyun?” Yuri asked

“umm.. I..I said it’s a relief that we finished cleaning the grounds already..ha..ha..ha” Seohyun answered. ‘Almost got caught there’

Later at Maid Latte..

“Ehhh? Why are you suddenly here as a customer?” Seohyun shockingly asked Kyuhyun. I don’t get it. What is he up to?

“Ah found you.” Kyuhyun said

“He’s so cute” Seohyun heard her fellow employees say.

Are you making fun of me? Bring it on!

Then Seohyun inhaled deeply. But she realized it would be rude to treat a customer like that.

“Welcome back, master”

Kyuhyun tried not to laugh at the sudden change of treatment to him but he can’t take his laughter anymore.

Hmmkk. He let a soft chuckled then put his hand to cover his mouth.

This is utterly humiliating. Seohyun said to herself.

KYUHYUN’S POV

“Welcome back, master” she said with a wide smile

I can’t help but feel amused of what our Prez is doing right now. She usually orders guys in school but now she’s here calling me MASTER. She’s really interesting.

Oh no, I can’t take my laughter anymore.

Hmmkk. There, I chuckled. I covered my mouth to control myself from laughing

Then she glared at me.

In the kitchen..

“Seo, is he your boyfriend or something?” Taeyeon asked. “ She’s been staring at you the whole time.”

“Aniyo unnie”

“eh?”

The next day at school..

“He’s having fun doing psychological tricks with me. I feel like he is looking everywhere” Seohyun said to herself. “ I feel so tired and sluggish lately”

In a classroom..

“ Kyuhyun  you’re still here?” Changmin asked

“Yeah. Changmin ssi, didn’t you go on the same middle school as the prez?”

“deh, waeyo?”

“ Has she always been like that?”

“ not always. But she started acting like that in 2^nd year. I heard there was a commotion in their family that time. Eh? Why suddenly became interested in girls? And the president at that?”

“oh nothing”

At Maid Latte…

He’s here again. Doesn’t he get that people start noticing him?

“That guy is here again” Yoona told Hyoyeon and Tiffany

“ I knew it! She’s interested in you Seo.” Taeyeon exclaimed

“huh? Aniyo!”

“He looks so worried. How lovable” Taeyeon added

He’s looking because he is amused. There’s no way he is worried.

The next day at school..

“Great job Seohyun-ah, you ranked 2^nd place in the mock exam” Yuri announced

“Number 2? Who is first?” She asked

“ Cho Kyuhyun of Class 3-2”

Seohyun walked away

“what happened?” Sooyoung wondered

“Maybe she’s not satisfied” Yuri guessed.

While walking along the corridor, Seohyun saw boys looking on a filthy magazine.

“What are those indecent things?” She asked

“Aniyo, it is just comics” Hankyung replied

“Give me that. It’s confiscated” and she grabbed the magazine

“what? How come girls are allowed to have magazines while we’re not. You’re being too harsh on us. I don’t think you’re giving us equal rights” Heechul butted in. “If you’re going to enforce rules on us, you need to be harsher to the girls too.”

“Fine! I’ll review the magazines you like. I’ll check the contents. Let me know the names of the magazines you’d like to read at school both male and female” Seohyun replied

“ There’s going to be many. You seem busy enough already, Seohyun-ssi” a girl student said

“It’s fine. It’s part of the job”

Not far away..someone was observing her..

5 pm at the SC room..

SEOHYUN’S POV

Sigh..Cough..Cough

“I did not expect that there would be so many magazines to check” I said while looking at the mountain of magazines that the students requested me to review. I feel so tired too and I’m a bit dizzy. I can feel my face becoming hot.

“Prez” our treasurer called

“Waeyo?” I asked weakly

“ the accounts last month doesn’t add up well.” He said

“DIDN’T I TELL YOU TO ACCOUNT IT PROPERLY, AISH” I said. I felt dizzy so I rested my head on the table a little bit.

“Are you ok? Are you not feeling well?” he asked

“ I’m ok I’m just a little tired lately”

“ I’m sorry to bother you but..”

“It’s ok I’ll look on the matter later” I said

“Thank you pres. Then I’ll be going. Take care then.”

5:30 pm, SC Room

“I’m so busy”

Cough, Cough

“ you sure are workaholic” someone said

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?” I stood up when I saw Kyuhyun

“I think you should loosen up a bit. Seeing you like this…”

I’m beginning to get dizzy again. I lost my balance and I was falling on the floor when I felt someone catch me.

“…makes me worry.” I heard him say

Realizing that I was leaning on him, I immediately got up and swept his hands away from me.

“STAY AWAY! I DON’T NEED HELP FROM THE LIKES OF YOU.”

After saying that Kyuhyun suddenly became silent..

“Ok” he said nearly whispering then he went away.

I suddenly felt like I’ve committed a crime. It somehow made me sad seeing him react like that.
