At Dongguk High..

I can’t believe that Lee Donghae would turn out to be my fiancé. Of all people, why should it be him? All of my girl classmates are infatuated with him. What would happen to me if they knew? Ohh, ottokke?

These were the worries of Yoona while she was on her way to school. Mr Shin observed that she was not her usual self today.

“Yoong, are you alright? It looks like you have a problem”

“I’m alright Mr. Shin” Yoona smiled to assure the older man. “Thanks for worrying about me always and thanks for driving me to school too.”

“It’s my duty. Don’t mention it”

On her way towards their classroom, she met the least person he would like to see-Lee Donghae, his fiancé, doing the daily monitoring.

“It sure is awkward meeting him like this now” Yoona said with her head bent down.

Meanwhile, Donghae also saw Yoona along the way so he tried to smile at her but the girl kept on avoiding his eyes.

“What’s wrong with her? She used to smirk or glare at me when she sees me” Donghae thought

During Lunch break..

Yoona’s phone vibrated. One message received. An unknown number appeared in her phone screen. Out of curiosity, she read the message.

Meet me at the SC Office. NOW!! Or else I’ll page you over the broadcasting system!!—Donghae

“Pfft!” Yoona groaned. “Am I your slave for you to just order around when you want” Yoona talked to her phone. But because she was afraid to be paged over, she literally ran towards the SC office.

At the SC Office..

“What do you want?” Yoona asked immediately after entering the room

“Hey, hey” Donghae said. “Is that how you greet your fiancé?” he asked full of sarcasm

“Pssshh” Yoona grunted. “And look who is talking. He judges people on how they treat him yet he is the one who orders people around like his slaves” Yoona mumbled

“Are you saying something?” Donghae asked

“Ani..So, why did you call me?” Yoona asked

“Here!” Donghae handed a paperbag. “Appa wants to give that to you and your Dad”

Yoona received the paperbag and looked at Donghae. “Gomawo, Would this be everything?”

Donghae nodded in affirmation.

“Okay, then I’ll be going” Yoona started to walk away.

“Ah, chamkamanyo..” Donghae said

Yoona stopped then turned around to face Donghae again. “Hmmm?”

“Uhmm..A-about last Saturday..” Donghae stuttered. “Mianhae” he said in a barely audible voice.

“Bo? I did not hear you.” Yoona said

“Aissh. Forget it!” Donghae said pissed. It is the first time I’ve ever said I’m sorry and the person I’m telling that to did not hear it at all.

“Ppffsst” Yoona glared at him before turning away.

“I said I’m sorry” Donghae finally said audibly

“Bo?” Yoona turned around with a shocked expression at the sudden apology.

“YAH!! Im Yoona. I’ve already said it twice and yet all you’ve got to say is ‘Bo’?” Donghae irritatingly said

“What are you so angry about? It is not like it is so hard to say sorry.” Yoona said. “Oh, I remember, you are not the person that says sorry”

Then there was an awkward silence between them.

“Since you said you are sorry, I’ll forgive you” Yoona finally spoke. “ Besides, I’m not a person who harbors grudges. So, maybe, we could start anew?” Yoona smiled as she offered her hand. “Okay, let’s start all over again.” Yoona said and heaved a big sigh. “It was nice meeting you. Im Yoona-imnida”

Donghae quite hesitated but shook her hand by the way. “L-Lee Donghae”

“Let’s just forget about the pressure of the engagement and enjoy each other’s company as friends” Yoona said with a smile.

“I think that’s at least the best thing we can do for now. Or else I would be so dead” Donghae said with an exaggerated expression.

Yoona chuckled at Donghae’s cuteness. And because Yoona was laughing, Donghae joined her as well. Besides, she’s cute when she laughs her heart out.

With their first handshake and first laughter together, blooms a brand new relationship between them-Friendship.
