Siwon was standing on the street corner, waiting for Sooyoung, shifting from foot to foot in the cold. It was freezing cold that morning. Sooyoung went down from her apartment after she had fed all her three cats.

People on the streets were hunched in their overcoats because of the cold. She walked towards Siwon and reached for the guy’s arm and squeezed it tight to warm herself. This was her 17th day of working at the damn bookstore. And it was also the 17th day they walked to work together. Siwon’s workplace was a bit farther up but the bookstore was just along the same way.

“Did you have a rough day at work yesterday?” Siwon asked. The same question he asked at around the same time every day.

“No.” The same usual answer Sooyoung would give him.

“Sorry I didn’t text you last night, dad was grilling outside. The first time he had ever used the grill!” Siwon smiled.

“No worries.” Sooyoung responded. She didn’t mind actually if he didn’t text. In fact, she also didn’t actually realized that the guy didn’t text her last night. 

“By the way I have a surprise for you.” Siwon suddenly stopped walking.

“What?” Sooyoung looked at his face. “I got us this.” He took out something from his pocket. It was an envelope. “Open it!” Siwon said excitedly.

“What is this?” Sooyoung took the envelope and opened it. It was two return flight tickets to London. “Oh my god Siwon..” Sooyoung was in shock. “How could you even afford this??” Sooyoung asked in a surprise tone. 

“That’s not important!” Siwon said in joy. “We are leaving in a month!!” He said.  “You can’t just do this without telling me!” Sooyoung didn’t know why she was mad. “I thought we were going somewhere up on the hill??” Sooyoung asked again. “It was a surprise Soo!” Siwon exclaimed. “We’ll be going on a backpacking tour for 3 weeks!”

“I can’t get off work for 3 weeks! I just got that job!” Sooyoung exclaimed back.

“No.. I got you that job.” Siwon smiled. 

“No Siwon.” Sooyoung said seriously. "You can't just surprise me like this." She added. 

“Sooyoung, are you hearing yourself right now?” Siwon questioned.
