Deep Inside
Against All OddsIt was Tuesday morning, 19th of December, six days away from Christmas. The town was so busy with people running along the streets doing their last minute Christmas shopping. Sooyoung was looking outside the window of the bookstore as she was still working that day. Most of her co-workers were already on leave since few days ago. They needed to go back to their hometowns for Christmas.
It was actually a temporary job. A job that her boyfriend got it for her. She really wanted to be a writer. It has always been her passion. Jobs are just too hard to find nowadays.
“Choi Sooyoung! Get your over here!” Sooyoung suddenly startled the moment she heard name was being called from afar. It was the supervisor of the store. The most ugly annoying supervisor there was, Mrs Lim. Sooyoung hated the woman. Mrs Lim had been working at the bookstore basically all her life.
“Do you even know what you are doing Choi Sooyoung??”
“How hopeless can you be Choi Sooyoung??”
“Stop ing with me Choi Sooyoung!!”
“You are as lazy as a pig!!”

“Yes Mrs Lim.”
Mrs Lim looked at her from up to toe. “You are going to work till Sunday.” She said seriously. “But.. But it’s Christmas Eve. I have plans.” She lied. Of course she had no plans. The woman was just not in the mood to negotiate so just left.
“Great.” Sooyoung let out a long and deep sigh to herself. After hours of sorting and arranging books, it was finally time for lunch. There were 6 people working on that day and they had to take turns to go out for lunch. Only two workers were allowed to go for lunch at one time. That day, her lunch time was at 3.30PM.
