Chapter 15 – Old Friend

“Suga?” the siblings chorused.

Haera stared at her brother who looked dazed. “Do you know him, oppa?” she asked, confused.

Suga hugged Jimin and patted his back. “It’s really long time no see,” he said. There’s a hint of relief in his voice. Haera could only raise her eyebrows in curiosity. Why did they know each other is still a mystery for her.

She held her questions back as she watched the interaction between the two. She couldn’t help but to feel as if they were a best friend back there—which is also a possibility.

But she didn’t know who the white-haired boy in front of her—Suga—‘s relationship to her brother. She never heard of him before—at least she thought so.

“Oppa,” Haera tugged the end of Jimin’s short sleeves, her eyes not leaving Suga. Jimin turned to her and gave her a wide grin. “This is my best friend, Suga.” He proudly said.

“He is?” she asked back, a bit surprised.

“Yes, he is my best friend,” Suga stated clearly with happiness hinted in his voice. “I don’t know you’re his sister,” he added, eyeing Haera.

“Nice to meet you again, Suga,” she said, sending a small smile to his direction. He sent a small one right back at her.

“I never see you before,” she said, stating the confusing truth. “So do I,” he admitted.

“How’s everyone else?” Jimin asked, drifting the conversation between Haera and Suga. “They’re fine. They constantly asked about you, but they can’t visit you,” he explained. “Oh,” Jimin nodded in acknowledgement.

Haera still can’t grasp the conversation that the two boys’ shared. Who are ‘they’? Why I never knew about them before?  She frowned at the thought. She want to know everything about her brother, everything.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” the question escaped .

The best friend’s turned to her. “I’m sorry, Haera.” Jimin apologized. “It’s just, I’m afraid she’ll know,”

“Ah” was all she said. She was kind of disappointed at the fact that her brother kept something from her, but she tried to understand him anyway.

I’m just glad you met good people.

Another sigh escaped her lips as she stared at the busy kitchen. The chefs are preparing food, and she just sat there, watching them with no interest. Something bothered her mind.

“Haera, you should do something,” a soothing voice said, despite his busy works. “Something like?” she asked back, not fazed at all.

Jin turned to her, giving her a smile. A smile that hid something beneath it’s sweetness. A threat. Haera quickly stood up and approached the boy.
