Seven
Five Makes A FamilyBaekhyun steadies the phone between his ear and shoulder as he closes the trunk to his car. “Hello?”
“Umma?”
“Taehyung?” Baekhyun frowns. His son doesn’t sound too well. “What’s wrong?” What could have happened for Taehyung to call during school?
“I don’t feel so well.”
“What happened? Did you get sick? Is it your stomach?” Baekhyun shoots question after question as he opens the car door, sliding behind the wheel. “Did you vomit? Are you-”
“Can you come get me?” Taehyung sniffs, his voice small. “Please?”
Starting the car, Baekhyun pulls out of the parking space. “Yeah. Are you in the nurse’s office? Where are you?”
“Nurse’s.”
“Okay. Okay, I”m on my way. I’m, like, ten minutes away. Fifteen? I’ll be there soon.”
“Okay. Hurry umma.”
“Sit tight Tae.” Baekhyun pulls into traffic, trying to think of the quickest way to get to Taehyung’s school. “I’ll be there soon.” He hangs up, only dial Chanyeol seconds after, since he was going to pick Taehyung up at dance practice.
“Park Chanyeol.”
“Hey Channie.”
“Baekhyun!” Chanyeol’s voice changes from professional to childish. “Hi! How are you? What’s happening?”
“I’m picking Taehyung up from school,” explains Baekhyun. “He’s sick, or something. He was in the nurse’s.”
“Oh no,” Chanyeol says. “Should I come home too? Is he with you now? Do I need-”
“No, it’s okay.” Baekhyun looks in the rearview mirror quickly, afraid he had missed the turn but it turns out, he didn’t. “I don’t have him yet, I’m going now. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of him.”
There’s a pause. “We really coddle him, don’t we?” Chanyeol laughs, making his husband smile.
“Maybe. But he is our only son.”
I swear the others will be here soon. But I suppose it is partly because I'm so Taehyung biased...but they'll be here soon.
I'm also starting school tomorrow (feel free to stab me) and I honestly want to cry but I'll get through it. It'll be like, like a fun game.
Yeah. Screw that.
Anyway, enjoy, since I probably won't be updating as much because of school. Yet another reason to hate that place.
