Five days after Jang’s wedding…

It reached headlines. ‘Yong Siblings of Yong Inc. committing !’ It made headlines  on every newspaper and magazine nationwide. I was in a bookstore as I picked up one of the magazines. I don’t know why I did it. I was angry. I was hurt. But… I shouldn’t have gone this far. My phone rang and I looked at the caller ID. It was… Jiyeon?

She had called me to meet her at the Coffeebreak café. I clenched the side of my shirt as I approached her table. It’s been half a year since we had last spoken. Did she find out that I did it? I sat at the table and she ordered my favorite blueberry scone with caramel macchiato. We looked at each other awkwardly before she spoke. It has truly been so long.

“How have you been? It feels like a century since the last time I spoke with you” she smiled.

“… I could be better,” I answered honestly.

“I wanted to apologize. I was a bad friend. I should’ve been there for you when you needed me. I know you have been going through a touch time after your breakup with Junhyung… I guess I was still hurt from you”

I was taken aback. Why was she apologizing to me? I felt burdened because of my guilt. I didn’t speak as she continued.
