Jiyeon’s POV

I was tired. My body felt weak. My head ached hard. At this rate, I don’t know how long I will last without the medicine. Coming back from skiing with the others, I decided to return back to my room to freshen up before dinner tonight. It was already the early evening. The snow continued to fall at a steady rate. I dropped all my ski gear onto the ground and rushed into the bathroom to take a long and warm shower.

I looked into the mirror as I washed my face. Water dripped along my chin as I realized just how horrible I looked. I no longer look worry free. My hands gripped the sink strongly as I took a deep breath. This was how things were going to be between my brother and I. He doesn’t want to talk to me. I’m not going to stand and wait like an idiot. He wants me out of his life then so be it. I closed my eyes as my right hand tried to touch my pendent. Where was it? My eyes shot open as I realized, I was not wearing it. Where was it? There was never a time in my life that I took it off, it must be somewhere.

Running out of the bathroom, I searched everywhere endlessly. Under the covers, the shelves, the coffee table, it was nowhere. I’m going crazy. I’m… I slumped down onto the ground helplessly. Nothing was ever going my way. Did I do something bad in my past life to deserve all this that seems to be just hitting me in the face?

Trying to remember exactly when was the last time I had it, I remembered that I touched it for good luck when Hyunseung was teaching me how to ski. It must be there. It must have fallen while I was skiing. Everything made sense now. I stared at the snow that was now falling heavier, it was getting dark but nothing mattered. Hurrying to dress myself, I grabbed a flashlight and left. Running towards the exit of the resort, I felt a massive cold breeze sweep over me as I ran towards the hill where I skiied earlier today.

The snow seemed to be building up as I tried to walk slowly uphill. It covered my face and all my clothes. I felt heavier and the more I walked the more I seemed to slow down. At this rate, I wasn’t going to find it. I furrowed my eyebrows in pain as I felt a large sting in the back of my head again. Holding my fists together, I wasn’t going to give up now.

Hyunseung’s POV

Where was she? I looked at my watch once again. It was already half an hour that had gone by since everyone had started eating. I figured she must have napped but she didn’t pick up her phone either. I grew worried. What if something happened? Excusing myself from dinner, I went to see if Jiyeon was alright. This was too strange of her. Quickly I rushed into the room without hesitation. She wasn’t there. I looked in the bathroom. She wasn’t there. Looking into the bedroom, she wasn’t there. I scratched my head in confusion. Where can she be?!?! Staring around the living room, my eyes spotted a small yellow colored paper that was placed on top of all the magazines. Grabbing the note, I read it with eager and fear.

Hyunseung, I lost something and I just went to go look for it.

I think I must have dropped it while we skiied today.

I dropped the note in shock. She couldn’t have went out? Could she? I looked at the conditions outside from the window. There was no way she would be back… I rushed down to everyone. I didn’t know what to do. Everyone was eating peacefully as I barged in loudly. Trying to catch my last breath, I couldn’t speak. I looked directly at Junhyung. He sensed something was wrong, I knew it.

Junhyung’s POV

I watched him intently. Something was off about him. He seemed to have something to say to me so I waited until he spoke.

“Junhyung… Jiyeon… Jiyeon… she…she…” he stuttered with nervousness.

I waited in anxiety and dread as I waited for him to speak clearly.

“Spit it out. I can’t understand your mumbling” I said loudly.

“She… she went to find something she lost. She went outside! She hasn’t been back yet”

I banged the table in anger. What kind of stupid joke is he pulling on me? I approached him quickly as I grabbed his collar. There was nothing I wanted to do more right now than punch the lights out of him.

“Are you pulling a stupid joke on me? Didn’t you tell her that there was a storm approaching now!?!?” I hissed through my teeth.

“I’m sorry… I didn’t know. She didn’t tell me anything”
