From Fact to Fiction
Junhyung’s POV
“Who is Park Yeo- Eul? How many more secrets are you keeping from me?”
“Yong Junhyung! Who do you think you are speaking to? Without even a ‘hello’” Father said strictly as he looked up from his newspaper.
“Where’s mother?”
“Your mother has gone to visit a friend. What’s happened now?”
“She knows”
“WHAT?” he asked in complete shock.
“I said SHE KNOWS!”
“Someone sent her a package with letters from ‘that woman’ and she’s kept them hidden in her bag. She didn’t tell me either. What are we going to do?” I said as I watched him still recovering from the news.
“Answer me! Who’s Park Yeo- Eul?” I asked again irritated.
“She wants Jiyeon back” Father muttered softly under his breath.
“What?”
“Park Yeo- Eul is the older sister of Park Mi- Yung”
“She wants Jiyeon back? Why? Why now?”
“Wasn’t only now Junhyung. The Park family has been trying to take back Jiyeon for a couple of years now. It was your mother who kept avoiding them”
Jiyeon’s POV
Rubbing my temples, I woke up this morning with a terrible headache. Thinking back to yesterday, I probably drank more than I could handle. I looked around and I was home. My clothes weren’t changed either. Who brought me home? Junhyung? I fumbled to the kitchen and no one was there.
“Junhyung?” I called out but no one replied.
I walked over to the counter and noticed, he had cooked me breakfast. He was just like that kind of brother. Someone I could rely on, someone I could trust, someone who would always be there for me. What should I do if all that is taken away from me? In a blink of an eye, my identity and my family just taken away from me? My eyes swelled up with tears as I was thinking about it. Why did it hurt so bad? I heard footsteps coming in and quickly wiped my tears away. I turned around and saw Junhyung coming in.
I tried to compose myself the best I could. He stared at me for quite sometime before he spoke. He must have seen right through my smile. He must have.
“Why are you crying by yourself?” he asked as he approached me.
His warm hands cupped my face as he stared at me closer. He was closing in on me and I could feel the heat rising toward my cheeks. He let go and grabbed my hand, pulling me closer as he hugged me. my long hair, he held me in his arms. It felt right being there but it also felt wrong. I couldn’t explain it. My hands found its way around him, clutching him tighter toward me and we stayed like that for a while. For a moment, I didn’t want to let go.
“Do you have something to say to me?” Junhyung asked.
The next few days go by the same. Junhyung continues to keep a watchful eye on me. I wasn’t allowed to go to places alone or to close my room door. Did things change? No… not yet. My hands uncontrollably flinched in nervousness. I couldn’t help my nerves. I went for the glass of water on my desk as I was putting on moisturizer on my face. My hands continued to shake inevitably dropping the glass. Moments later, I heard heavy footsteps running towards my room.
“What happened? Are you okay?”
I nodded. I held my hands tighter to stop myself from the shaking. They wouldn’t stop. Junhyung noticed it as he cleaned up the mess. He grabbed my hands and held onto it as he stared into my eyes.
“I can’t do this anymore Junhyung” I murmured as I tried to hold in my tears.
“I just can’t do it anymore”
“… Why didn’t you tell me? Why choose to handle this alone?” I whispered sympathetically.
I looked up at him confused. What was he muttering about?
“You… you knew?” I asked in confusion.
“I knew. I knew and I didn’t tell
