From Fact to Fiction
Junhyung’s POV
Almost a week has passed since Jiyeon has spoken a single word to me, let alone even looked at me. Was she that angry with me? What did I do wrong? I still didn’t understand what goes on in that pretty little head of hers. She’s never been this angry with me before. Sure we had our disagreements here and there but it was always resolved in no more than a day. I started to freak out. Was she going to be like this from now on? I tried to ease my frustration, as I got ready to meet my friends.
I closed my room door behind me as I headed for the front door. There was a loud thud that could be heard from the kitchen. I wandered to the kitchen to see what the commotion was. There were large and small shards of glass spread across the kitchen floor. In the corner, I saw Jiyeon picking up the broken pieces with her bare hands. I rushed over to her as quickly as I could and I started to help her pick up the pieces.
“Jiyeon, just go outside. I’ll clean it up” I told her as I gestured her to stop.
Instead Jiyeon did the opposite. She shoved my hands away from her lightly and continued to mind her business as if I was nonexistent. My patience with her started to slowly get the best of me after a good five minutes have passed and she was still ignoring me.
“Stop! I told you to stop! You’re going to hurt yourself” I warned her obviously raising my voice.
Before I knew it, Jiyeon’s pace started to quicken. As she reached for the second to last piece of glass, the sharp pointed edge cut her forefinger leaving blood to slowly drip onto the ground.
“Ow…” she whispered as she tried to withstand the pain.
“See! Didn’t I tell you to stop!”
Jiyeon immediately turned towards me with no other emotion besides annoyance.
“Just leave me alone. I never asked you to help me”
“Fine. If you don’t want to talk to me or even look at me then I’ll do you a favor and leave” I hissed.
I rushed out of the house as fast as I could. She had always been an upright and honest girl but for her to say that to me, meant that what I did truly upset her. Now I was in deep trouble. Honestly, I had no idea how to fix any of this. It almost felt like I was standing on water with no support whatsoever. Sitting in my car, I decided to call for help.
“Hyung, I need help. You’re the only one who can help me”
“With?”
“Jiyeon”
“Jiyeon?”
“She’s still upset with me. Can you talk to her for me? She won’t listen to me. I don’t know what to do”
“Will she listen to me? I don’t even really know her”
“I can’t trust her to anyone else besides Hyung. I think that she’d be likely to open up to Hyung. Can you try?”
“Aha are you begging me now?”
“Are you going to help?
“Yeah, I’ll find time tomorrow, don’t worry ”
Hyunseung's POV
I had no idea why I was doing this. I don’t like to concern myself in anyone’s personal affairs. Yong Jiyeon? I never had a single conversation with her that was longer than a ‘hello.’ Even so, since Junhyung so desperately pleaded for me to help him, how could I turn him down? I waited at the front entrance of her study hall period. I waited for her to come out as I observed other students coming out. Female students started to squeal as they walked by me. I tried to tone out their annoying voices but it just got louder as more females started to crowd around me. I hated these moments of suffocation. Just before, I was going to ditch my plan to meeting with her; she came out of her class.
I quickly grabbed her hand without having her consent and I gestured her to follow me.
“Don’t say anything and just follow me. I can’t stand it in here anymore”
“Hyunseung? Where are we going?” she asked me as I tuned he
